A word from The Foundry Grill @ Sundance
The Foundry Grill was opened in July of 1996. The name is taken from the concept of the large foundry wall located in the main room. The word foundry also implies simplicity and a return to the fundamentals. The room, the service, and the menu are an extension of this idea. The Foundry Grill is committed to providing the freshest of vegetables and meats cooked in our apple wood rotisserie oven. In warm weather, the patio opens for outside dining. Sundance believes in the preservation of our resources; all our water glasses are created from recycled glass and are hand blown here at the Sundance Resort.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Not the first time for us, but as always it was an exceptional experience. We went earlier this time (9am), and found it to be less busy and very relaxing way to enjoy a crisp morning on the mountain."

  • "I love going to the Foundry Grill. I've never had a Bad meal there. Everything tastes good. They have the best garlic fries and burgers! Their pumpkin cheesecake was excellent !"

  • "I loved my experience enjoying the Sunday brunch buffet here. The food was great, my favorite was the caramel marshmallow bread pudding. We're already planning to go back in the Summer for a special occasion, I think I'll make this brunch a semi-regular event."

  • "Like the early spring here in Park City, I found myself equally astonished by the brunch at the The Fiundry Grill. Nestled at the foot of Mt, Timpangos, in a wood cabin dining room one can experience a Sunday Brunch like no other. To begin with the service staff was friendly and attentive without nagging you for your last plate which is often mistaken for good service. Our waiter was cordial and naturally personable and showed up just at the right times with some offering or some refill. The food was spread out around the dinning room in its course categories which provided for easy access to a tastefull display. Unique salads, smoked salmon, and perfectly cooked prime rib topped my list."

  • "This was a fantastic dining experience. There is so much attention paid to every detail with dishes. Perfect and well-thought-out flavor combinations, very pleasant (and happily surprising) texture differences, and wonderful presentation. Perfect portion sizes at a fair price. The menu can please any palate. As a matter of fact, one member of my party eats a strict "Paleo" diet and she was able to easily make substitutions that worked perfectly. The servers are attentive and work hard to make the dining experience very pleasant for the guests. One note: If you tend to be a bit on the warm side, avoid being seated at the fireside table."

  • "A very nice lunch dining experience. Wonderful food, served competently. We were seated next to a fireplace in a charming alcove. Able to look out onto ski area, which was interesting. Restaurant has a lot of character. Not very busy, so quiet."

  • "I've eaten at The Foundry Grill more times than I can remember. We were on first name basis with several of the servers. It seems that the food and staff quality have been in steady decline for the past year or so. Hopefully they can turn things around."

  • "awesome atmosphere and superb service.....the soup and salad were amazing and the meatloaf a definite comfort food...yes there are some expensive items on the menu but with the wonderful pizzas salads soups and desserts you do not need to spend a fortune!!!"

  • "The food was simply delicious. It's hard to find a restaurant in Utah that tastes this good and this fresh! Multi-level flavors with each course, was my favorite part. I licked my plate clean. Ambiance is great. Loved the fire outside and watching the skiers come down the mountain. Also loved the gift store, however they closed at 8:00 and our dinner reservation was 8:15. We were a part of a crowd begging to walk through the gift store, which the sales lady graciously let us in to browse for 2 minutes. Maybe you could keep it opened later on the weekends."

  • "Sundance is such a beautiful property and their lodges are gorgeous, intimate and cozy. I have been many many times for brunch but most recently for dinner before a screening at the Sundance Screening Room. Highly recommend the Foundry Grill for any occasion. A diverse menu where you cannot go wrong. Really enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the service. Take weekend day up to Sundance, enjoy the scenery and check out the Foundry Grill! Recommend the Trout dish and don't forget dessert, Brownie Sundae all the way"

  • "Outatanding brunch menu with higher quality ingredients and more complex recipes than I have experienced at hogher priced brunches at 5-star hotels."

  • "I did not have any expectations going into this restaurant except that it may be expensive. To my surprise, for a buffet brunch it only cost me $35 including tea. The buffet was very fresh and constantly kept clean and full. The food was high quality and the service was friendly. They took a little time to take our drink orders in the beginning but after that they kept checking in to see if we needed anything. Plenty of options for all kinds of diets (vegan, vegetarian...). It was delicious, affordable, and with plenty of rustic charm that I would overall highly recommend."

  • "Awesome experience! Dinner for seven women with different palates and EVERYONE was pleased! Dinner special---fish with a lemon sauce was SUPERB and compliments to the chef brought him to our table!! Great conversation (with a hint of what are Robert Redford's favorite dishes---Chicken Fricasee ;-) and cocktails and special dessert made the evening complete. The atmosphere is rustic charm but the wait staff was worthy of a 5 Star experience. Soups and salads were great but entrees included beef, chicken and fish and EVERYTHING was delicious!! FESTIVAL TIME IS BUSY but we were taken early when our film ended sooner than we anticipated. Spend some time shopping in the country store...and sometimes, you bump into a really nice celebrity!"

  • "Our food was excellently prepared, with attention to presentation as well as taste."

  • "The food is good for the most part. I think the meat was far too underseasoned for my taste, but the desserts and sides were quite good. I think the chefs should be more willing to put seasoning on the meat rather than leave it to the customer."

  • "Relaxing environment filled with the ambiance of an old world alpine lodge. Views of the forest and the falling snow as you warm yourself by the table side fire. Varied American fare with beautiful presentation, fresh quality ingredients, and flavorful accents. The staff is relaxed, but attentive."

  • "One f the best meals I've had in a restaurant. Fairly priced for what you receive. Everything is local and delicious. The service and ambiance were wonderful."

  • "What's happened to The Foundry? You could be guaranteed an exceptional meal with attentive service in a beautiful atmosphere. The beautiful vistas are still there. The service is fine, but not exceptionally attentive, nor egregious. But the food; it's not good. Almost every entree we had was fast-casual in quality. Stand outs were the shrimp scampi with linguine. At fine dining prices, the food had better be on point, innovative, and delicious. None of it was. Under-seasoned, overcooked, and uninspired. The mac and cheese is a travesty (lacking in flavor complexity, overcooked, macaroni tossed with grated cheese and left to melt under a heat lamp--no bechamel.) Go for brunch buffet, skip dinner."

  • "This is my go-to special occasion restaurant. We adore Sunday brunch, and have a hard time leaving! The food is outstanding!"
    Dined on 11/10/2013
  • "The only thing missing was seeing Redford himself."
    Dined on 11/8/2013
  • "Although the location is unbeatable, the food is a few notches above edible, but nowhere near what it should be for the price. The menu is uninspiring--garlic shrimp, meatloaf, filet, ribs, etc.--prepared in a bland style with repetitive ingredients."
    Dined on 11/6/2013
  • "I always love going to the Foundry. This time there didn't seem to be too many people there but our waiter seemed rushed and distracted. It was fine, he still did a great job. The new sweet potato bread pudding was tasty but was more like a croissant or a roll than bread pudding. That was a little bit of a letdown, especially considering the cost."
