I'd go back in a heartbeat ANY DAY for the cheese curds and crispy Brussels sprouts from the starters menu, as well as the potato pizza (which has bacon). Service was quite attentive. Too bad we arrived just a tad too late to sit outside."

  • "We had dined at The Forge once previously and shared a salad and pizza. A good experience deserving of 3 stars overall. We returned for the second time intending on just grabbing another pizza and glass of wine but noticed that evening's special and both decided to order the line caught fish served upon a Farro salad. It was truly outstanding! The brussels sprouts, the Romain Babes salad, our main course paired with the Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier, it was all excellent. Service was also outstanding during our visit and it was a beautiful evening to sit outside. We were truly surprised over how we intended to go grab a pizza and it turned into a fine dining experience. We won't take so long the next time to return to The Forge."

  • "Me and my famiy (wife + 2 kids 3 & 7) love this spot. Been going every 2or3 weeks sice they opened. Currently the best service of any resturants that we've been going to. Food is great too - the pizza crust is awesome, also love the brussle sprouts app and the mussles/fries entree. Craft beer selection is worthy and my wife enjoys their cocktails. It's a great spot for the family becuase of noise level/music. I don't think the 'kids shouldn't go to resturants' crowd (you know who you are) even notices that we are there. The outside seating area on the waterfront with the open fire pit is pretty rad too."

Had the potato pizza (flawless from the crust to the shaved brussel sprouts) winter fruit salad and the special appetizer of asparagus with a soft egg on top and speck...AMAZING!!! The service was very good and attentive and the food had something different from the "normal" fare one receives elsewhere. I recommend Forge and we will dine there again. Open Table made it easy to obtain a reservation and was well received at Forge. Thank you!"

  • "We tried Forge for the first time for a Friday lunch. 15-20 minutes went by and it seemed as if we had been forgotten. Alerting the hostess got an immediate response and they were kind enough to comp our appetizers. Henceforth it was smooth sailing and a wonderful culinary experience. The cheese curds are fantastic, as is their Potato Pizza and fried Brussels sprouts."

  • "I've been here many times in the past and it is always a good experience. The food is consistent and delicious. However, the drinks were a little off...we ordered the devil's slipper and a dark & stormy and they were a little on the tart side. I've had the devil's slipper before and it was much more enjoyable. I will definitely go back...love eating outside on the patio!"

  • "FP has been a very vibrant addition to the Jack London Sq scene. Wonderful well sourced pizzas with imaginative toppings, salads and other excellent sides, plus great beers and wines. Mushroom pizza with cracked egg was marvelous, well seasoned and baked. Tangerine and fennel salad was to die for and the ginger beers helped round out the meal. Have been here before , once during summer and this was a most welcome and tasty return."

The outdoor dining was warmly comfortable with the portable heat lamps. The wait staff checked on our 5-person group periodically to ensure our needs were met. Great food to satisfy the lunch hour. Perfectly cooked burger with that aromatic char from the grill."

  • "Went for lunch with a friend, and both were grateful for the waiter's attentiveness and suggestion of adding a piece of grilled fish to a salad. When I spilled contents of my bag under the table of our booth, hostess crawled under to retrieve for me. And when I first arrived, I was gracefully reseated when I was disturbed by the presence of some persistent flies (really, the only downside, along with background music that was a bit too aggressive)."

  • "Forge Oakland pleased all --three adults with 9 & 11YO picky kids. Forge is upscale, hipster food suitable for adults and older kids. The menu is good -- wood fired pizzas, burgers, nice apps. Brussels sprouts appetizer started tart with lemon at first, then the smoky charred bits took over for true Brussels sprout heaven. Husband loved the rib appetizer and the kids didn't once turn their noses up at the pizza - crust a little salty and chewy, tho. Bleu cheese burger giant & yummy and large salad tasty. Chocolate mousse is to die. Service great on a slow Monday eve and all of the staff were very friendly -- oddly so, it kind of felt like they were trying really hard to be solicitous. In spite of forced staff glee, we'll be back."

  • "The smoked chicken wing hors d'oeuvres that we ordered were plump and tasty, and were a surprisingly good way to start the meal. The salad dishes served at our brunch were also very good. However, the eggs Benedict, served with small roasted potatoes, was simply excellent. Few restaurants can produce a good hollandaise sauce, but the Forge can. And they added a smoky-tasting slice of ham/Canadian bacon underneath the eggs. Rob, the manager, and everyone on the wait staff made sure that we had a great dining experience. One member of our party decided to have one of their scrumptious thin-crust pizzas for lunch. It was even better with a generous sprinkling of Parmesan cheese at the table. We will certainly come back here again soon."

  • "I tried this spot for the first time this weekend & loved it!! A group of friends & I went for a girls night out & we ended up sharing 3 pizzas & the Brussels sprouts app. I've never been a huge Brussels sprouts fan but they were perfectly cooked & covered in parmesan. We chose the cauliflower, mainlander & margherita pizzas. The cauliflower & mainlanders were amazing! Pistachio pesto? Yes, please... Also the jack's martini? One of the best mixed drinks I've had. Service was perfection, the right amount of playful banter & attentiveness & the food cane out fast. Do yourself a favor & go to this place."

  • "Arrived on time for a 7:45 reservation. Was told we had the next table and that it would be a few minutes. Ok, busy night, no problem. The problem began when the next table did not go us, because there was more than one person working the host/hostess stand. Twenty minutes from our original reservation time we had a table. Fifteen minutes later after waving down a server for help, two servers came over and said they weren't sure which of them had our table, laughs all around. Every dish that was brought to us went to the wrong table first before arriving at our table. Staff was friendly and apologetic throughout. Brussels sprouts were terrific, pepperoni pizza was bland as was the mushroom pizza."

  • "Nice decor, unobtrusive big screen TVs, generous booths. Service was nice. Really good brussel sprouts, and the chicken soup was good. Cauliflower pizza pretty bland but nice sprinkles of rock salt. Three cheese pizza same. Liked the sausage pizza. Thin crusts. Desserts toffee cheesecake was good though not traditional, and the apple crisp a little too sweet. Wouldn't make a special trip out here, but it was pretty good. Very loud, though."

  • "We had a lot of fun at the Forge. We sat outside (heaters made it plenty warm even in January) and enjoyed the view and the energy level of the Saturday night crowd. The service was consistently great from start to finish. The waiters were attentive and the food came out quickly. The pizza was very good. The toppings didn't strike me as particularly special, but the crust was outstanding. The cheesecake we had for dessert was also very good. The real downfall was the salad. The "winter fruit" salad was a lot more cabbage than fruit, and without much dressing, it didn't have a lot of flavor. I'd recommend the restaurant to a friend, but I'd advise them to stick to the pizza menu."

  • "Friday lunch on the patio for four. Hostess seated us toward the back of the patio with tables open near the water. We could not find anyone so a man doing water for tables said sit where you like. We moved ourselves near the water. Service was a bit slow for a small crowd. The four of us decided on arugula salads and wife had tomato soup and then 1 fat boy pizza and 1 pepperoni pizza. The arugula salads were fantastic. The anchovy lemon vinaigrette was out of this world good. Salad was light with exploding flavors. Wife said soup was good. Our daughter and her boyfriend shared the pepperoni pizza and were a bit disappointed because it lacked spice as advertised. The fat boy pizza had flavor but the crust was very flemsy and lacked crunch."

  • "The pizzas here are on the higher end with toppings like guancale and spinach. The pizzas are great but honestly, the starters are the stars. Cheese curds, which are vastly superior to the name some Wisconsinite gave it, are fried nirvana. The Brussels sprouts are to die. Nice selection of craft beers and cocktails. More importantly, awesome ice tea."
