The Food Market
This is my fourth time andThis is my fourth time and I have every time left the place with a feeling of great discovery. The food is delicate, delicious and original. The service is plesasant without being obnoxious as"Hi my name is ,bla, bal bla." The cadence of the service is great,. we ordered our wine and out food but before we got them , we were served a dish of warm bread with a dip of nutty oil. I know it is not original but the taste was!.A very satisfying experience for my husband' birthday. It was a late dinner around 9:00 but we avoided the crowd and there were still a lot of people so the ambiance was a happy and busy one without to much noise! The customers areyoung and older together it is a good mix!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great Mother's DayWe had a great Mother's Day dinner. The food and service were excellent.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTJ, willie and the Chef madeTJ, willie and the Chef made this already Great meal even greater !!
CANT WAIT TO GO AGAIN5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie's DelightThe food is semi-tapas style. You can choose to get several things from the small menu or dine on the "big" menu. Scallops are amazing. For a mixed drink, try the Pimlico Playboy, their version of the mint julep.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMtoo noisyI found it good but a bit pricey for what you got--and too noisy. Would go back for a special occasion, but would not make this a favorite regular dining destination.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMYumThe food was delicious. We had the crab cake dinner, fresh fish, beet salad, the shrimp appetizer, and for dessert we split bread pudding. Every bite was excellent. Our only complaint is that it is still a bit noisy and that one glass of wine was $9.50.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHampden Hot SpotThe Food Market is the new hot spot in town. With its lively atmosphere & fresh takes on old favorites, you can always find something new & interesting. Friendly, attentive service and a good wine list complement the fresh, delicious dishes. A good place to meet friends for a fun evening,5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGastrofabulousFood is redic it is sooooo good. Menu is not static except a few staples. Everything is fresh and the heathbar bread pudding is to die for.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReturning to try moreThe waiter we had was very helpful. I didnt have to search for him when i needed something. They refilled my water a lot too without having to ask. The cream of crab soup was excellent. This is my favorite soup and they did not disappoint was flavorful with nice size chucks of crab meat in it. The ceaser salad was good as well. I did order lamb meatball kabobs. I think i shouldve went with something less adventurous as they werent my favorite. I also got a side of the lobster mac and cheese. Wasnt my favorite either. It wasnt as hot as i would have liked and the cheese / lobster combo just wasnt doing it for me. I did see other appealin dishes around me. The complimentary valet parking was a huge plus. I cant wait to try more of their food.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! It's hard to choose what you want because everything is delicious!!! Our favorites: buffalo pickles, lamb and shrimp apps and the scallop dinner. We heard the crabcakes are fantastic too- barely any filler, but havent tried them yet!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellant dinner! Was suggested by a friend who joined us and had a wonderful meal. Great variety and many different creative options. Loved the Baltimore Club - crab cake and shrimp salad together!!! Amazing!! Would definitely return.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMReally good experienceWent there for the in laws anniversary. Really good food but a bit too noisy5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFun atmosphere with terrific foodDined here on the recommendation of Open Table's "Hot Spots" list, and it did not disapoint! The main vibe here is fun; the decor is a neat combination of rustic and industrial, the service is friendly, efficient, and personal, and you can tell that folks are here to have a good time. The food was terrific - started with innovative cocktails and couldn't resist the spicy fried pickles and lobster fingers (decadent? yes!) The truffle fries that came with my steak frites were delicious and the steak itself was perfectly prepared, though in hindsight I'd probably choose something more "interesting" since you can get steak frites lots of places. The shrimp and grits entree my dining companion had was phenomenal. You should go.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMdefinitely recommend; verydefinitely recommend; very good service, food. Some nice specials and good wine list. Owner called after we left to explain a service error on our bill so after apologies he is sending a gift card. Nice to know that honesty pays and by making our reservation on Open table, he knew our phone number. Definitely a plus for using Open Table.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service, great food.Fantastic service, great food. Would definitely go there again.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good andThe food was very good and we like the option of small plates or a full entree.
The noise level is still high and the tables are close together, so I wouldn't pick it if I wanted to have a serious discussion over dinner. But there are plenty of other places for that, and it was a fun place to be. We look forward to returning.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best meals fromOne of the best meals from beginning to end that My wife and I have had in a very long time. We highly recommend this place. The food was astounding. We will be back for sure. We went with another couple and they felt the same way. We ate small plates, appetizers, main courses and dessert. All dishes were delicious and I would order again. Keep us the great work. Nice staff also.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic place! Is a bitFantastic place! Taking Baltimore to a new level.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great, exceptThe food was great, except I split my burger with the other person I was dining with & she wanted it to be cooked medium well, instead they cooked it medium. I did think the burger was excellent though, but for her they could have cooked it a little longer.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good service and generallyVery good service and generally very good food during our visit. The amish soft pretzels with beer cheese fondue were awesome. The fried oysters were okay - a little too much breading made for a less than flavorful oyster. The shrimp and cheese grits was good, and my girlfriend liked her chicken. Loved the atmosphere.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFood And Service Were Great.Food And Service Were Great. LargE Crowd Made Noise Levels Very HiGh And Vibrant.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time here, and it didSecond time here, and it did not disappoint. Cocktails are creative and wonderful. Only drawback is that it's way too noisy.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome first timeReally awesome dinner. Delicious & creative menu fitting of much more expensive restaurants in town. Very accommodating staff. A "vibrant" scene so I wouldn't go there for a quiet romantic dinner. Not a criticism, just an observation. We will definitely be going back soon.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were excellent! Highly recommend!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I took ourMy husband and I took our daughter to The Food Market (one of her favorites)for her birthday. It was our first visit. Our reservation got mixed up and they were packed. No problem. They set us up at the bar until a table became available. We were honestly stunned by the excellent service. Food was amazing! Atmosphere was upbeat and fun. We cannot wait to return with friends.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was absolutely AMAZING!!!Food was absolutely AMAZING!!! I can't stop thinking about the seared tuna and seabass. You definitely don't want to miss this treasure!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTop notch dining! This place is a perfect mix between DC and New York style and ambiance and doesn't skip a beat. We came one time 2 weeks ago and have been back twice since then. If you want a unique upscale urban dining experience...this is the place to come and bring people.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lovely dinner inWe had a lovely dinner in which the entrees were the best part of the meal. We had two salads neither were very interesting. However, the main courses of small and large crab cakes and the one salmon dish were excellent. The desserts, a coffee cake with ice cream was tasty but not worth the calories. The bread pudding wa so sweet that you needed a dose of insulin to level out the sugar .4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is incredible andThe food is incredible and the décor is fresh and modern. The tables are really close together and the it is noisy so I don't recommend it for a quiet, romantic date.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI love that the menu changes.I love that the menu changes. The mussels were great!!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went hereMy husband and I went here on a Thursday evening with a friend from NYC. We all loved it. The food was off the hook, delicious. Shared appetizers included the baby tuna burgers, the lamp chops and salt & pepper tuna. I had the ginormous scallops over risotto, my husband had the filet mignon and our guest had the bison. Of the three, the bison and the scallops were outstanding.
As far as ambiance, it's a bit "industrial" looking and the noise would warrant a citation so I wouldn't choose it for a romantic evening but we'd definitely go again in a heart beat!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat group dinner in Baltimorenice room especially the light fixtures. bourbon cocktail had good flavor without being too strong or weak. split tasty lamb tenderloin appetizer, house salad dressing was unusual (cranberry and cream cheese?) but good. salad also had beets and brussel sprouts which gave heartiness. split large size crab cake entree which was best crabcake i've had since being in baltimore. side of lobster mac n cheese was really really good. too full for dessert but they looked good. no espresso machine?4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMthe food market never disappoints.the food market never disappoints. the food, service and atmosphere are always top notch. my dinner portion seemed a bit smaller than on our numerous prior visits but the food was still more than ample. we left with full stomachs and happy hearts like always! every aspect of our dining experience has been wonderfully consistent since our very first visit. thanks food market!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWiney, garlicky, spciy, cheesy,Winey, garlicky, spciy, cheesy, spicy shrimp? Definitely looking forward to going back3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu doesn't overwhelmThe menu doesn't overwhelm with options on any given day, but they rotate their menus. So it remains always interesting. The food is very good, without a doubt, and the hosts, waiters and waitresses are warm, friendly, and make that special connection with all customers which makes them keep coming back.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great place! A groupWhat a great place! A group of us met there for dinner and it could not have been any better. Our waiter, Ken, was very attentive and helpful. The food is just great. Crowded the night we were there but our waiter did a great job and was well informed on menu & wine.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the wait and the effort!Had been trying to get in for a month or so, but could never manage to find a time where there were tables available. Managed to get in for a later weeknight dinner with my best friend, and what a treat it was. The cocktails were heavenly, the food was tremendous, and the dessert - Bailey's Ice Cream. Shut. Your. Mouth. An amazing dinner and I can't wait to come back!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI am not sure how anyone couldI am not sure how anyone could ever say a negative thing about The Food Market. It is well worth the wait to get a reservation. The food is amazing - all of it! I doubt you can order anything on the menu that doesn't taste and look incredible. The place is very cool - they did an outstanding job creating a great atmosphere to laugh a lot and eat great food and be well taken care of.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible once again! ThisIncredible once again! This was our second time dining at The Food Market and everything was wonderful. Of course the food was creative and delicious and everyone in our party loved what they ordered (duck, scallops, mussels and salmon). The cream of crab soup was the best I have ever had. I have to mention our waiter, Ken, who we were lucky to have both times as our server. He is absolutely the best! We went to celebrate my birthday and I could not have asked for a better evening!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGotta give it a try!I know this is a super trendy restaurant right now, but it is for good reason! It has a casual vibe, but I'm not fooled...every aspect of service, layout, menu and flow has been deliberately crafted! Also, while not super cheap, I find this place a value..you get a lot of top tier quality for your buck! It is a vibrant bustling place, but at the same cozy...and never feels cramped- even though it is always full.. Service is great with well trained and fun staff. But the real star is the food.. My party of three ordered a total of seven plates,,, and we couldn't think of one complaint. Everything was expertly
made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The shrimp and 4 squared ravioli stood out for me. It is a must eat in Baltimore!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMService and food was great.Service and food was great. Menu caters to those who are gluten-free.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
