Located on the Avenue in Hampden, and open every night, The Food Market serves brunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 3pm. Dinner is served on Sunday – Thursday from 5pm – 11pm, and on Friday & Saturday from 5pm- 12am. Valet-Parking provided at no cost, nightly during dinner service, starting at 5pm.

  • "The food was really spectacular. We had several small plates, a few large, and dessert. Nothing disappointed. They had quite a few dishes that were home-spun, and really delicious. The culinary quality was top-notch. Waiter was quick, friendly & attentive. The one big gripe I have is the noise level. I was thoroughly displeased with how loud it was. I don't like having to strain to hear the person across the table. I read reviews ahead of time, and they for sure suggested the noise level was high. But, my wife really wanted to go. It would be nice if they could do something to abate the noise problem (put up deadening panels, etc). I would subtract more than 1 star normally, but the experience otherwise was really that good."

  • "We had brunch here to celebrate a birthday. I have never had a mimosa as good or as generous! The menu is wonderfully creative and the food delicious and inventive. For years there were so few choices for a good brunch in Baltimore and I had my fill of overpriced and mediocre ones. The Food Market brunch is a welcome addition to weekend brunch and our meal was just terrific. Great coffee too and a lovely complimentary coffee cake. Brunch is one of life's great pleasures ! Have it here and you will not be disappointed."

  • "This was our second time at Food Market and it keeps getting better. I could have eaten 4 orders of the buffalo pickles. I had the pork chop and my wife enjoyed the scallops- both were done to perfection. Dessert included the whipped cheesecake and the strawberry shortcake/pudding that were amazing."

  • "Loved,loved, loved this experience. Food and beverages were excellent and inventive. Many options for every palate. Wine list somewhat limited in size, but only one bottle over 50$ which is a refreshing and welcome change from most places. A little on the loud side, so not a great place for a quiet evening or conversation. The oysters and the grilled peaches were my favorites. Always a big fan of gazpacho and the "Gausspacho" did not disappoint. Terrific evening and looking forward to my next visit."

  • "I went to the Food Market a year ago with friends and thought it was just ok.I kept hearing such great things about it so I thought I would try again. It was so good the second time around. Our waiter Ken couldn't have been any better. We went for our anniversary and a card was waiting at our table .The food was so good from the bread with olive oil, my husband's yummy cream of crab, my fabulous shrimp and grits and my husbands best sandwich he ever ate "baltimore club". I also had heath bar bread pudding, great.Now I can see why everyone loves it.I like the looks of the restaurant but it's not romantic if that's what you are looking for."

  • "We were celebrating our 47th. anniversary. Immediately, we noticed the volume of the noise at the bar and throughout the restaurant. This was a Tuesday night, so one can imagine what the noise might be like on the weekend. Our server, David was great, attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. We both enjoyed the food. The tuna was seared to perfection; the bronzini dinner was delicious, the couscous seasoned like none I head tasted was such a compliment to the fish. Sadly, we will not be returning (perhaps, we might try lunch) because of the noise in the dining room. We would recommend this restaurant to a friend based on food and service. We would make it quite clear that the noise diminishes the enjoyment of the food and great service."

  • "Every year my family asks me where I would like to go for my birthday, I'm 43 BTW, and I usually have no preference. They suggested The Food Market and I WAS IN! Friendly hosts/Manager were friendly and attentive. Busy place, the staff was extremely helpful. Jennifer was awesome. Menu knowledge was spot on and she was pretty helpful when it came to finding something for my three-year old niece as well. Everything from the apps for the table to my wagyu to the desserts. I have been in food and beverage both here and LA for over 10 years and this was one of the best balances of food/ambience/service in my experience. KUDOS to you for sustaining a place that is popular and keeping it that way. WELL DONE! I will DEFINITELY be back!"

  • "Friendly servers, delicious food, cool decorations. We ordered the Amish Pretzels & Beer Cheese, Bread & Butter Sea Bass, Korean BBQ Chicken, and the Whipped Cheesecake. I would eat the pretzels and beer cheese everyday! So delicious. The sea bass was amazing! Great flavor and cooked to perfection. The chicken was also very good. Yummy sauce and the side of jalapeno mac and cheese was a hit. The whipped cheesecake was also delicious and a great finale to the meal. Would definitely recommend."

  • "I really enjoyed my time at the food market.We went for dinner on a busy saturday night, showed up before our reservation and were sat accordingly. The restaurant was packed, but it still had enough room for you to be able to hear each other. On to the food: we just did entrees, but our meals started with delicious bread. I got the todd's cut pasta, per my waiters recommendation. It was delicious- the pasta was fresh and they did not skimp on the fresh vegetables. My plate was loaded with local corn and spinach and the crab meatballs were delicious! My boyfriend got the crab cakes, and I think my crab actually had more flavor.They were big and cooked perfectly with great seasoning. The portions were huge for entrees, we were both stuffed."

  • "This was our second visit. Better than even our high expectations. First, the menu is long, and each item sounded better than the last, so it took us forever to decide. Our waiter was excellent, helpful but not intrusive. We settled on fried oysters and fried green tomatoes as appetizers. Each was wonderful, and soon gone. Rack of lamb, scallops and crab cakes were our mains, each wonderfully prepared. Bread pudding topped it off. We will be back, often!"

  • "My sisterks flight was delayed from Albuerqueque until 9:30 Sunday night. It is almost impossible to find a place with a full dinner menu at 10PM on a Sunday night in Baltimore. So imagine my surprise that not only was a restauurant open but in my neighborhood and one of the best new restaurants in Baltimore - The Food Market. Even at that hour, the food was delicious (I had the duck) and the service prompt and personable. As you can imagine, we closed the place down, but even as we were the last ones there, and the stools were all up on the bar, we were offered dessert without a trace of "hurry up and leave!" (We declined). It might even be better to go to this restaurant late as the noise level when busy can be pretty high."

  • "Certainly there is a huge difference between good food and GREAT food. Without question, this restaurant has G-R-E-A-T food. There have only been a few restaurants that have reached this status. And I don't mean the very highest price ones. Having the most perfect, fresh, and complementary ingredients makes all the difference in the world. You taste each one separately . I had the fried oysters first, then the Chilean Sea Bass for my Entree. Absolutely fabulous. You gotta go there!!!"
