A word from The Flying Pig
New to Forest Hills: The Flying Pig Gastropub. High quality beers and fine dining. 30 taps of craft beers and full bar.
We will offer some signature Irish dishes, with the main focus on fresh, local foods that will change to reflect the season.
The menu will also include charcuterie and cheese boards. Some options will coincide with the 30 or so, craft beers we will have on tap, while other cheese boards will go perfectly with our red and white wine selections.
We will also feature casks, which are draft beers that are pumped manually and maintained at the perfect temperature.
All our cocktails will be made using fresh ingredients and will be prepared by a trained mixologist.

Diner Reviews
  • "Brunch is the best deal, otherwise, keep it simple and order the burger. it gets super expensive super fast."

  • "SO I HAVE BEEN TO THE FLYING PIG A FEW TIMES BEFORE, USUALLY FOR DRINKS. THEY HAVE A HUGE VARIETY OF BEER! I DECIDED TO HAVE A BIRTHDAY BRUNCH AT THIS PLACE, AND I HAD A PARTY OF 20 PEOPLE. THE SERVICE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER. I HAVE NOTHING AT ALL TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. THE SERVER JOSE WAS SUPER ATTENTIVE, PROFESSIONAL AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING. MY GUESTS HAD A GREAT TIME. EVERYONE WAS HAPPY! THIS EXPERIENCE DEFINITELY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. ALSO, DECLAN CALLED ME A FEW TIMES TO CONFIRM MY RESERVATION AND TO SEE IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS. HE MADE SURE THAT MY BRUNCH WAS SET UP ON TIME AND EVERYTHING WAS AS PLANNED! THANK YOU FLYING PIG! =D"

  • "The atmosphere was definitely bar-like but there were also many small children. Seemed odd. The food was fine - burgers and limited other dishes. I had the chicken breast with the duck fries. I found nothing remarkable either good or bad. The only thing I really did not like was the soft pretzel appetizer with cheese dip. Same soft pretzels and cheese wiz that can be had at most street carts but a bit more expensive at $8.00. Service was OK. Needed to ask for things like salt that should have been provided without asking. Otherwise fine."

  • "Was amaizing to get there 15 minutes earlier and our table was ready. Besides, the people there were very concern and friendly."

  • "My wife and I tried this place for brunch and were quite pleased. The food was very good and my wife really liked the make your own Bloody Mary bar. Reasonably priced as well with two drinks. My only complaint is that it was cold in the restaurant. Their cutlery is also very chintzy. We are going to have our birthday brunch there next month with approx. 20 guests."

  • "18.95 for a hanger steak, slab bacon, 1 fried cornmeal batter oyster, 2 eggs, potatoes AND 2 (delicious) bloody marys?? Yup! It was all prepared perfectly and was excellent eating. My only "complaint"? Do NOT bring a vegetarian. They will be displeased! I will definitely go back for brunch."

  • "Last night was our second visit to this place, and unfortunately this meal was even worse than the first... Our waiter was inept and had no knowledge of the menu. Couldn't answer basic questions about the food, nor could he pronounce the strange French words. Yikes. They were out of the first two beers I ordered as well as the wine my wife ordered. Off to a great start, huh? We decided to bypass alcohol altogether, rather than continue this game... Our food order was messed up twice, and it took nearly 15 minutes to get the correct items on the table. The thing is, this place isn't cheap... there are better options out there. Thought this would be a welcome addition to Austin Street, but we were wrong. We will not be back."

  • "I ordered the pork loin and it was delicious. I would definitely go back."

  • "It would be nice if the beer menu had descriptions of the beers and where they are from, especially since there is a beer flight option."

  • "Portions were a bit small...didn't expect such a family oriented place...lots of kids. Looks like it would be much better at night!"

  • "It was Very Expensive - the food was good, but, if it's a gastropub vibe they're looking for, then they should tone down the sports bar aspects. I felt like I spent a ton of money and ended up at a regular sports bar by the end of the meal- it was trivia night which we ended up participating in- which was fun! BUT again, at 10-15$ a cocktail and $30 plates, it shouldn't have felt so college-sports bar-ish."

  • "The emphasis of this fun restaurant is the broad drink menu with a limited -- but delicious and interesting food menu. I wish there was more of a food selection so those of us who aren't going to drink much, or have restricted diets could have a broader food selection (more salads, more soups)."

  • "If they hadn't referred to themselves as a Gastropub, we would have been less adventurous in ordering and, I think, happier with our food. Burgers and fries at an adjacent table smelled great. We gambled that the daily specials at a gastropub would be worth it. We lost. Overcooked, steam-table duck over large undressed lettuce leaves disappointed; prefab flavorless softshell crab over a watery bed of spicy greens was no better. Drinks were good; waitstaff personable and capable. Close to the cinema, so we may drop by again for a drink, but will likely not order food. Actually, the charcuterie plate was pretty tasty; loved the pickled red onion garnish, scented with tarragon. But sweet pickles in lieu of cornichon? No paté wants that!"
