Amazing evening, we were seated at the back so the noise level was quite tolerable. The food was amazing, we shared everything and truly enjoyed the complex flavors and interesting combinations! Loved the Special Surf and Turf! Our Server was very attentive and helpful, we did not get his name, but a big thank you from all 4 of us!

Looked high and low for a good ‘non-American’ restaurant and found it here. Evening was perfect from ambiance to food and was topped off with a smashing bottle of Chateau Musar. This was an evening I was trying to impress a date. It was a clear success.

Although this would be a fine place for a single diner or a couple, going with a small group of four to six seems ideal. There are so many interesting and varied items to try; therefore, going with a small group and eating family style is the way to go. Try any dish with lamb - you won't be disappointed. The wine list is well matched to the foods and fairly priced. The restaurant is good sized, though not huge and it does get busy, so make reservations.

Everything about the Fly Trap is just right. We were greeted as soon as we entered by a very gracious host and seated immediately. The service throughout the meal was impeccable and the pacing of the meal was perfect. The food, was just exceptional, particularly the Pearl Cous Cous Cacciucco. This is dining as it should be. The Fly Trap focusses not on being trendy, but on serving great food, with great service in a lovely setting.

We had dinner for two. Since we were not real hungry we request spitting a first course and entree. We started with a greek style salad which was good. For our entree we ordered the lamb stew, which was very tasty. Our server provide us each separate pates and utensils to service each dish. The service was outstanding, all without having to ask.

Service was impeccable and not snooty at all. Food was interesting and unique. Prices are high; I would like to see a few more moderately priced items on the menu. The sorbet dessert with persian noodles was incredible! Cocktails are expensive but very good, and unique ingredients.

Flytrap continues to provide wonderful food from appetizers, soup, main course to dessert. The menu is mainly Persian with some Italian-influenced dishes. We chose it for the former, and it was delicious. Our three-person group favorites were the cardamon-braised beef cheeks, the cauliflower smooth, grilled calamari with sausage stuffing was fresh blended seafood and meat well and tasty, the meatballs moist, and the baklava dessert was a revelation. The cocktails were innovative too. Service by Gabriel was outstanding!

Had dinner there on Sayurday night. Had wine at the bar with appetizers (pistachio meet balls). Totally Amazong :). Then for dinner ordered the special Kooftah and the chicken. Totally delicious. The chef was nice and gave us complementary after dinner wines. Nice old resturant with new feeling and nice staff and great ambience. We will go again:)

We returned to FlyTrap for the first time in about 2 years and were very impressed. One of their signature cocktails Agave's Inferno is totally memorable--easily the best spicy margarita concoction we've ever tasted, i.e. perfectly balanced. As to the food, it tasted like all the ingredients were absolutely fresh, and the combination of spices unique. The lamb stew a knockout. All in all, a wonderful experience.

So I went here for a friend's birthday dinner. We ordered the grilled spiced nann & summer spreads-DELISH! So fresh & light! We also ordered the meatballs & the pomegranate sauce was AMAZING! Additionally, added an order of fries & dipped them in the pomegranate sauce (recommended by the waiter) & the fries were devoured! So my friends ordered the grilled lamb & hated it!!! When clearing the table the waiter noticed that my friends didn't touch the lamb & was soooooo apologetic about it--he took both meals off our bill without us even asking! GREAT SERVICE!!! I ordered the seafood stew & it was hearty and rich in flavors. Overall, we still had a great experience! The service is definitely a reason to return!

I took my staff here, while in SF for a conf. Great find! Very friendly staff, great service, and what a (bizarre) menu! Eggplant jam?!? It was oddly delicious. The goat cheese cheesecake is not to be missed. Yummy Brussel sprouts. I would have enjoyed a few more choices on wines by the glass, but the (limited) offerings were very good. Enjoyable evening all around.

So many original choices I wished there were a sampler menu so I could try everything. Glad I had trout with grapefruit and mixed greens. What wonderful complex flavored. Next course was stuffed Eggplant and peppers - healthy lentils and rice and complex flavoring. Husband's lamb burger good - nothing imaginative like other dishes. French fries could have been better. Cinnamon ice-cream with whipped cream and cardamom and fresh fruit in rum a winner - never mind the hard poached apple which should have been focal point.

The food was amazing. Chef Zare is a San Francisco gem. The pistachio meatballs, kebab, ahi tuna, cucumber yogurt pudding and baklava were to die for. Great for a date night, night out with friends, or to wind down after a long day. The service was great and the Chef himself usually brings out the food. This is a must try for any SF locals and visitors.

  • Flytrap ... Quirky, noisy, fun

Flytrap is a quirkly restaurant and bar. With its wall papered walls, metal ceilings, mirror dividers and garden outlook, it is understated cool. Dish of the day for us was the flat iron steak kebab... Juicy steak served with mint, radish, yoghurt and warm lavish bread ... Delicious. We also tried the filled spiced naan and summer spread. The warm naan and the pea dip were tasty. The grilled stuffed calamari was nice but not spectacular but the black cardamom braised short rib made up for it in spades. The meat fell off the bone - tender and juicy with great accompaniments. The service was attentive but the restaurant was really noisy. To be fair the staff asked if we preferred to sit out the back, but we chose the front room.
