A word from The Flatiron Room
A mature and relaxing destination that offers 600 varieties of whiskey, expertly crafted cocktails, live jazz/bluegrass and sumptuous food.

Our Executive Chef, Susan Burdian has created a menu that is the perfect accompaniment to our venue. The menu is designed to be shared amongst friends. Most items are served on wooden planks and in cast iron skillets. We recommend ordering several dishes for the table.

Live entertainment is performed on our stage every Monday through Saturday. Expect prohibition jazz, gypsy jazz or bluegrass. Always tasteful and at a volume that still allows easy conversation.

We are proud and passionate about the product and service we offer. Our greatest satisfaction comes with sharing our beautiful space with guests.

We hope you enjoy your visit.

  • "Met some old friends there for dinner. I had lived nearby a few years ago and always wanted to come in for a drink. I stumbled upon it again while looking through OpenTable. What fun we had. Our server, David was right there anytime we needed another drink. The French Jazz playing/being sung was lovely. The flat bread appetizers were delicious and everyone's main dishes were/looked amazing. I tried the sea bass and it was cooked to perfection. My dish was only so-so. It was a vegetarian choice so not as exhilarating as my companions choices. My only suggestion would be to add another choice or two for vegetarians. "

  • "Absolutely superb collection of Scotch Whiskies and American Bourbon. The exhaustive list is suited for experts connoisseurs and beginners alike. The live music is always entertaining as well. Servers really know their material and the bartenders are excellent at mixing."

  • "Good food from a small menu. Small, cramped tables close to the stage. Good entertainment, even early in the evening. Friendly, efficient service. Outstanding selection of whiskies from around the world."

  • "I loved it. The atmosphere was wonderful. The service, you couldn't ask for better. We sat there for hours and they made us feel like we just arrived. I will and am recommending it already!!"

  • "Great place to meet friends after work, super collection of whiskey. Great hors d'oeuvres, and conversation. Live music, great atmosphere."

  • "Amazing selection of whiskey and great cocktails too. Our server was very friendly and allowed us to try 2 whiskeys before committing to one was really helpful. Highly recommend doing a flight to discover something new! If you're looking to commit to one drink and you don't know what you want, ask the server and they're able to recommend based on your description of what you've tried and liked previously."

  • "The Flat Iron Room should not be missed. I did not eat there so cannot comment on the food but their Whiskey menu was superb with hundreds to choose from. The servers were very knowledgeable and service was friendly and prompt. There are bottles stored along the walls and in some cases servers were using ladders to get up onto a catwalk to retrieve them. The live jazz band was also a great touch to the 1920's ambiance of this lounge. The food menu also seemed pretty well-rounded so we may go for dinner next time."

  • "Love, love, love this place! It is definitely on my list of places to go back to when I'm in NYC. The food was fantastic, as was the service. The jazz band was great, enjoyed the live music thoroughly. Unique cocktails and an extensive whiskey list, loved all the drinks I tried."

  • "Amazing whiskey collection, waiters are very helpful and the service was outstanding; i requested on opentable to have our table facing the stage and this is what they gave us.. But the voice of the french jazz singer was low and we couldnt understand the songs.."

  • "If you love whiskey, creative cocktails and live jazz, this place is awesome. FR has an awesome vibe that fits the City perfectly. The menu has hundreds of whiskey, bourbon, scotch, in the bottle and it is presented at the table like fine wine. They also make cocktails that rival the best restaurants in town. The menu is fantastic, lots to choose from. We had the bone marrow, amazing! The staff, including the managers are all wonderful. Cannot wait to go back there and soak it all in again."

  • "The pictures online are a little deceiving. The drinks and music were great. But the noise level is a bit loud, which made it hard to talk. I think 2-4 people is okay, but more than that, you'd have to shout."

  • "Drinks are much better than the food, but the drinks are truly awesome!"

  • "Took my boyfriend here as a surprise for his birthday, he loved it and so did I. Knowledgeable staff. We had ate dinner before we got here so we didn't try any of the food. We did order a cheese board to pick while drinking which was perfect. Enjoyed the jazz band. Wish they played the elite night since we had a late reservation at 11:30. Due to their being nothing earlier a week prior. Definitely recommend to make reservations more the a week before to ensure you have your preferred time very romantic feel."

  • "A lovely place. All wood, high ceilings, dimly lit. My husband sampled the whiskeys (a selection of 750!), which is what the Flatiron Room is known for. Our server was extremely knowledgeable, and we were very impressed. Not being a whiskey drinker, I had a classic cocktail, prepared perfectly. We began with appetizers - delicious, well-prepared and presented. We got so full we skipped dinner, but we are looking forward to going back for dinner and bringing friends. The only drawback was that the cafe chairs were a bit uncomfortable. They were around small tables in front of the stage (live entertainment most nights), so I can understand, but still....I'll ask for a banquette next time. Great place. I highly recommend."

  • "I went with my partner on a Sunday evening and we had a great time. The bar was beautifully decorated and the dining area was well spaced out so you weren't eating shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you. Our hostess was really friendly, attentive and keen to make recommendations for drinks. The place has a vast whiskey range but despite not liking whiskey they still had a great selection of spirits and cocktails to choose from. The entertainment matched the mood of the place very well and was an excellent show. We only had a charcuterie board but in itself this was great, and the other diners around us where also complimenting the food. I would highly recommend for a great dining experience with entertainment to match."

  • "This gem of a restaurant/bar/jazz club restores my faith in Manhattan nightlife. The jazz band playing the night we went was wonderful, the musicians were top notch and the noise level was perfect for maintaining dinner conversation. The ambience was outstanding, beautiful appointed with cozy nooks and open bar area that encourages mingling. The food exceeded expectations, though the venue is billed as a whiskey, jazz lounge, the food is delicious enough to draw you for dinner. Then there's the liquor menu. The book of available whiskey, scotch, bourbon commands immediate respect, and the cocktails were tasty too!"

  • "A charming little hideaway that made us feel as if we'd gone back in time to "just past prohibition". We were there on a Sunday night and "Broadway Brassy and the Brass Knuckles" played and sang great jazz mixed with a little tasteful burlesque. The entertainment was free, fun and grand! Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable on spirits. We ordered drinks and not the tasting flights; the flights might be a better way to go as liquor menu is long. Drinks were delicious but expensive and small. The food was good although choices were limited. I like spice but ask if you don't. It's really a bar that serves food and not a restaurant that serves whiskey. They serve dessert too, but don' t own a coffee maker! All in all, a great NYC find!"

  • "the drinks were amazing, and their whiskey menu was mind blowing to say the least. the cocktail i kept repeat ordering was their signature 37 west 26 - and damn right it should be signature! whiskey, figs and agave which just enough lemon juice - genius. the place looks much better in person compared to the violently neon pictures you see on google. the live jazz was a nice touch, but it felt like there was something missing. the waitress was super attentive, and after coming in from the beginning of a snow storm, the complimentary coat check was well appreciated!"

  • "I was treating a friend who wanted to do a bourbon tasting and found this on line. We were not disappointed, the staff was very knowledgeable and had good recommendations baseed on what we described we wanted. Not alot of variety in the food, but what we had was delicious! If you want to try something different, go here."

  • "Really lovely interior, fantastic service from the host, to the server, to the bartenders and the complimentary coat check personnel. There are a handful of tables in front of the stage and a long plush banquette with small tables that hold drinks and appetizers (and candles and carafes of water). The drinks were really well made, and one each was enough for the two of us, as we had plans to continue the evening elsewhere. We had the cheese board, which was plenty for two and asparagus and scallops that were perfectly cooked and presented. $76 total before tip. The band was great, though hard to see from our seat. This is a perfect place to catch up with those you love, its classy and romantic and perfectly executed."

  • "I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately the weak service and overly loud environment where we couldn't enjoy the live music made it very difficult. Great whiskey selection and they are priced on par with what I would expect for bar in the middle of the Flatiron district."

  • "I was looking for a great live jazz restaurant, and for most places reviews said the music was way too loud and the food was ok. Then I stumbled on The Flatiron room- it was awesome on all levels. They have an extensive drink menu, food was amazing. The ambience in there is exactly what I've been looking for in the city. The live music is perfect- not too loud so you can still have a conversation but loud enough so that it's not drowned out by crowds by the bar. The venue itself is really nice, and I love the set up it's definitely different than most places. I would highly recommend it for a date night, place for group dinner, and for happy hour."

  • "What a fun place with excellent food and a beautiful ambience. We loved the live jazz music with excellent musicians and vocals. The lamb chop dinner was delicious! Our waiter explained the extensive whiskey menu and we tried some new whiskeys. The drinks are pricey but there is no cover charge for the music! A really great place!"

  • "This hidden gem is now one of my favorite places in NYC. I recently went for the first time with friends while visiting the city for a few days. Great whiskey selection and mature atmosphere. Fantastic live music performed at volumes over which it is still possible to talk in normal tones and be heard by those close by. I will definitely be back when I visit again."

  • "If you like live music and whiskey you'll love this place! Perfect for my boyfriend with the extensive whiskey library and I love live music, it was a romantic old school salsa band, amazing ambiance!"

  • "I found The Flatiron Room after doing some searches for best cocktails in NYC. It didn't disappoint. Our reservation got us a spot right by the stage where a great band was performing. Just as their site promised, it wasn't too loud, we were still able to hold a conversation. We shared appetizers and had some great cocktails. Our server was great about helping to steer us towards drinks we all enjoyed. Will definitely go back when I go back to NYC."

  • "I went for an early dinner with my elderly mother. We were staying close by and the menu looked good after a cursory look. It is actually a whisky and jazz bar. I'd like it later in the evening with my adult kids. As neither of us are whiskey drinkers we were looking for an oaky California chardonnay. There are a total of about 4 wines. So absolutely go here if you want live music and whiskey later in the evening! It looks awesome! Don't go here with an 83 year old for a great dinner and nice glass of wine."

  • "This place was great. After looking through Yelp for a little jazzy music and some food, we came across this place. It's very cozy, warm and music was great. The food was very good as well. The pear salad was amazing and the Short ribs and Paella was great. The drinks were a bit weird for me. I had the Moscow Mule and it was a bit bitter and over gingered. My girls drink was a bit different to. We tried a tasting and found it to be a bit pricey but a good way to find if you like whiskies or scotches. Overall, the service was great and it was exactly what we wanted. Will definitely go back. As a couple or group is both good. Must check it out.."
