Our guests were from Nunavut on this visit. We usually like to take guests to Five Fisherman on one of their first few visits to Halifax. The menu and food is exceptional with a lot of historic relevance in the building. I always ask the staff to have someone tell us a ghost story and portray a little of the history (The staff has allways been great and the stories always add to a memorable evening). Our guests always enjoy the open mussel buffet and we can always count on some great Atlantic Canada Seafood that we like to show off and also Nova Scotian Wine. Thanks for always keepeing the same high standards with freindly and professional staff. With the 5 Fisherman they come complimentary with any entree and wow who needs a entree after having 3 plates of mussels! The entrees were just as delicious but I really could've just ate the mussels. As always we do love spending the extra for a fantastic meal!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMJust Like I RememberMy partner and I flew to Halifax (from Toronto) for the long weekend. I remember over 10 years ago going to Five Fishermans. It was memorable. The food for me was exceptional as I remember. I started off with the seafood chowder while my partner had the lobster bisque. The lobster bisque didn't taste good (burnt or too much cognac?) so it was returned and replaced with the chowder. My main was Lobster Stuffed Digby Scallops while my partner had the Arctic Char - both delicious. Dessert however was a little disappointing though, but the evening was wonderful. After dinner,we had a look around the restaurant after dinner and would have liked a table in the dining room with the stained glass windows. Oh well, next time.

Our waiter was very helpful and friendly, and the kitchen staff accommodated our request to get an appetizer from the menu that was typically only offered downstairs. Very fresh and unique dishes.
