Fresh fishThis is a real find. The fish was fabulous and the service was perfect. Felt like a neighborhood spot.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently good food but..not consistently good wine corkage policy. We have dined at this restaurant from the time they opened...(many years ago) We were never charged a corkage fee....The manager left and the corkage policy was suddenly all over the board...sometimes none, sometimes $15 sometimes $20...etc. We don't dine here a lot anymore.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday DinnerGreat find after reading the reviews. Excellent sea bass in a nice presentation. Tried the sushi too, which was delicious. Oysters just ok. Will be back to try the fish tacos - very reasonably priced and looked delicious at our neighboring table.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLove love love this placeLove love love this place and go there often! Family- run local gem, all wild-caught fish - it is everything you would want in a seafood restaurant. Nice wine list. Entrees are fantastic, but you can also make a great meal out of all the appetizers.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighbor gem in tucked awayNeighbor gem in tucked away place. Amazing fresh fish, appears to be the best of what's available to the San Diego marketplace. Dishes are nicely done...crab cakes are loaded with crab!! Service was over the top!!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA very nice place to relaxA very nice place to relax and enjoy a great fish dish.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I were in SanMy wife and I were in San Diego for our anniversary and this was our favorite dining experience the whole trip! Every single thing we ordered was outstanding and the restaurant is located in a really cool spot.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall Portions, Large PricetagThe meals were delicious! I was a little disappointed with the portion of fish for the child's salmon plate for $18. I could say the same for my $39 salmon special.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMReservation sevice workedReservation sevice worked great, I sat at table I requested. Waitress was exceptional.
Food was outstanding, as usual.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI am a long time patron andI am a long time patron and a native of san diego and I love this place. The Salmon Miso is a favorite !!!!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAn extremely well-informedAn extremely well-informed server helped us make excellent food and wine selections. Both the calamari and halibut were well-prepared.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy lunch experience was betterMy lunch experience was better than my dinner. We had dinner a couple of weeks back and the hostesses were not very educated in the practice of seating people with reservations first before walk-ins. Isn't that why we make reservations; in hopes that your table will be ready and waiting when you walk in. But they gave my table away to people who walked in ahead of me so I ended up waiting another 20 minutes for my table to be ready. If I knew that was the practice, I would have just come early and gotten a table on time. Manager was very apologetic when I informed him of the mistake. It's all good. Love the food so I won't stop going to the Fishery just because of a couple of not so knowledgeable girls.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent TuesdayWe had an excellent Tuesday tasting with a nice wine pairing. The food is ALWAYS delicious! Some of the best seafood in San Diego - hands down! Thanks!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperior and veryfresh fishSuperior and veryfresh fish always!
We like The Fishery a lot:3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you love fish food youIf you love fish food you will love The Fishery! We went on the Tuesday special and enjoyed the three courses of fish. My wife thought the soup was a little spicy but I thought it was very good. (Suggest getting some sparkling wine to off set the spicy. Old trick from the past.) The shrimp and halibut was excellent. The atmosphere was very refreshing inside! We do not live in the neighborhood, but we will go back! It is worth the drive from the RB area.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFor food quality and careFor food quality and care in preparation, this is probably one of the best restaurants in San Diego. We are never disappointed, and are often pleasantly surprised by new dishes. The Tuesday night tasting menus are one of the best kept secrets in town, amazing for the value and consistent quality.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's place is right aroundIt's place is right around the corner from us. I can't believe it has taken us so long to experience it. Absolutely fabulous. Food, service, everything was beyond our expectations. Will definitely make this one of our regular dat night diners.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh fish without the fries....The Fishery is one of my favs. San Diego has a dearth of nice places that focus on seafood. They always have fantastic dishes, i had the Macadamian crusted Halibut, with blood oranges, peppers, served on potatoes. It was just right. My clams were fesh, and the balsamic strawberries and ice cream was aperfect dessert.
Nicely done in a energetic atmosphere, including a fish market, makes this a fun place to go on Saturday night.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
