BEHIND EVERY GREAT SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IS A WAREHOUSE STOCKED WITH FRESH SEAFOOD.
The Fishery Restaurant & Market is located just a few blocks from the ocean in North Pacific Beach.
The restaurant menu reflects ‘coastal cuisine’ with a simple yet serious focus on the best our coastal fisheries and local farms have to offer. The passion that drives Chef Paul Arias is evidenced by flavors that can only be achieved using ingredients at their peak of seasonality and freshness.

The Fishery Market showcases fresh fish, prepared seafood, salads, sauces and marinades. Wine, bread & specialty foods also available.

  • "We had a lovely meal at The Fishery while in San Diego. Convenient to Mission Bay, where we were staying. The fish was wonderful. We ate on the street, enjoying the perfect climate. It was a fun evening. Parking seems to only be on the street but it was not a problem. Loved the calamari - very tender and tasty."

  • "The Tuesday night Chefs tastings and wine pairing are the best!! Very interesting , nice portions and a Great Price !"

  • "When I am in La Jolla this is my favorite seafood restaurant. I visit there on almost every trip. It is a short drive from La Jolla to the Fishery. It is a great seafood restaurant."

  • "I was hesitant taking a party of 10 there, which included 2 children under 10, based on previous reviews. I was confident the food would be good but was concerned about service. I'm so happy that we went despite the bad reviews about service!!! Our food was great AND the service was outstanding, attentive without being disruptive. I had the Ahi tuna poke and the best halibut, macadamia-crusted, in a long time. And the yellowtail with a subtle BBQ sauce was amazing. My husband ordered his dinner based on the server recommendation of the seared scallops and was not disappointed. Overall, one of the best dining experiences on our vacation."

  • "The Fishery is located in a nondescript neighborhood that you wouldn't think to find a nice seafood place. The interior is a bit cramped but still comfortable. The noise level is a bit high when the place is hopping as would be expected based on how close the tables are. The food was fantastic, the seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. The albacore belly is something that has to be tried, it was tender yet thick and you were given a very healthy portion. The halibut was also very good and both appetizers, calamari and caprese salad, were quite tasty. I highly recommend The Fishery if you are in the mood for good seafood at an interesting location."

  • "The swordfish meatballs were VERY good, and the albacore also was VERY good. Prices are high (28-36 for entrees). The waiter forgot to bring the salad, and never asked for refills on drinks--not very attentive. We sat outside, which was nice because it sounded pretty noisy inside."

  • "Exceptional in a town full of great seafood! Always!!"
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "When we walked into the Fishery, we turned to each other and said "This place looks and smells like the Fish Market". And it does. And just like the Fish Market, the food is ok, the ambiance fine and the service passable. I like the Fish Market better because it has a greater selection, cheesy potatos and little chocolate mint fish you can get at the hostess stand."
    Dined on 7/2/2014
  • "We were seated outside, and it seemed for awhile that the waiter forgot about us. The food was quite good, but we thought the price was on the high side for what we got. We decided to split the 'wedge' said. outside seemed a little too close together, as we felt that we we totally in the conversation at the next table. The proximity to the busy sidewalk distracted from the ambiance as."

  • "One of the best restaurant in PB San Diego The food is very good. We like the calamari , the special it's always good !!"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "The food is always great (and super fresh), the service is awesome, and the wine list is not your standard boiler-plate. My wife and I sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful early dinner on the patio; scallops were perfectly cooked, bbq Mahi was amazing, and the desserts were unbelievable. Can't say enough about our neighborhood gem!"

  • "Really exceptional food, beautiful plating, in an atmosphere that is sharp but cozy and unpretentious. Solid favorite."
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "I had the prawns, fresh out of their seawater tank. Split in half and then bbq'd. Very sweet, very good eating. But pricey. Green beans were excellent as was the local mushroom side. Note to drinkers: Beer and Wine only."

  • "the fish was outstanding. service didn't hover which I like. and more than one person served which means we didn't have to wait for our waiter - thanks. and dessert - panna cotta - was amazing! all three of us really enjoyed our meal and desserts. and we were left to talk afterward without feeling like we had to leave."

  • "The salads were so so, but the fish was super great , very fresh and cooked perfect.. The service was excellent and everyone was just great to us and helped us celebrate our 44th anniversary. When we walked in, we were greeted with Happy Anniversary, a nice touch. Would go back in a heart beat. OlyYoly"

  • "The food was good. My only disappointment, the hostess and waiter asked if it was my birthday and then no mention of it the rest of the evening. Not that I needed anything, but it was odd and why ask? Clam chowder tasted more like arrowroot, than chowder. My fish was perfect."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "The Fishery restaurant, exceed my expectations for how fresh the foods are, even if you are not into seafood, you will learn to love it here by their plate presentation, your eyes will sure be hungry....and the taste WOW !!!!! "

  • "Appetizers were not all served at the same time, waiter was absent throughout dinner, shrimp were way over cooked"
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "This was my first time and I went with friends who had been before and liked it. I liked the ambience and we were seated at a pleasant corner table I at which it was easy to talk. Staff were okay. I had clam chowder which was disappointing - too much artificial thickening, too little clams and spicy but in a strange way I can't define. I then had the swordfish meatball dish which was okay at best - my friends who had had it before said it wasn't as good. The wedge salad was good but with too little dressing that was placed below the wedge not on it."

  • "Superb cuisine and wine pairing. Delicious tastes and beautiful presentation."

  • "I had a remarkably great experience dining at the Fishery. Made a reservation with OpenTable, showed up five minutes early, and were shown to our table immediately. The service was excellent and prompt. We had ordered the clam chowder, the Ahi tuna poke (pronounced pokey, not poke), with entrees macadamia-encrusted Alaskan halibut and swordfish. The clam chowder was great - not awe-inspiring, but still rich and savory. The tuna poke was sublime. It was an interesting take on the traditional Asian seaweed salad, with fresh and buttery tuna. My entree (the Halibut) was excellent. The baked-on macadamia nut augmented the natural flavor of the fish and provided both additional taste and texture. We had spent about 100 dollars in all"

  • "I chose the Fishery to celebrate Mother's Day with my son and husband. The food wes delicious and the presentation was very eye catching. The service was the best I have had while dining out. Our server was attentive but not annoying. I would definitely recommend this spot to family and friends, and we will return."

  • "I found the Fishery on a list of best restaurants in San Diego, and it is certainly a great restaurant. I went with my mom and she had the summer veggie salad, the halibut, and a dessert sampler. I had the spicy tuna roll and the grilled albacore belly. Everything was amazing and fresh, and the food came out very quick. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. My mom also discovered an amazing wine there, as well. It is a great restaurant!"

  • "The portions are very small for the price and there are no healthy options for kids. The food was good but it was an expensive mistake. We won't be back on our own. "

  • "Excellent local fresh seafood -- fish, mollusk, and crustacean. Has only limited vegetarian (no animal tissue) choices. Fish soup is excellent -- a tomato based alternative to high fat wall paper paste."
