Easily the best fish in San Diego. Is a very nice but basic Restrurant but the food is beyond good. Very casual which suits the location. Add to he food great service and reasonable prices and you have a gem.

I made a reservation for seven guests six days before our dinner and everything came together perfectly! Our waiter, Jonas, was personable, funny, helpful and efficient. My boyfriend and I have eaten here previously for "special" evenings and have enjoyed every meal we've had at The Fishery. We look forward to our next occasion to dine here and highly recommend The Fishery for their "fine dining experience"!

We enjoyed this restaurant very much. They had a spicy tortilla soup as a special which took a couple spoons to get used to, but was very good. I had an Ahi Tuna salad that I loved. Only thing I'd ask to leave out was the seaweed or whatever the greens were. Sort of too chewy and I could only take a little at a time. But the other ingredients were fantastic. My husband had an Ono tostada salad. He loved it as well.

This is a good place for fresh fish-based meals. With the food there are high notes and not-so-high notes. I had Opa with an eclectic collection of vegetables that was delicious. My wife had linguine and clams in a white sauce that was barely white - it was really a wine sauce. And our friend's fish and chips were in a hard shell of a crust. The fish was good but the texture combination didn't work together so well. Service was formulaic - a waiter, a food deliverer, a plate remover. No one seemed to have responsibilty to refill water. The noise level was very high.

This restaurant has great ambiance, great service, and great fish dinners. The menu can be pricey, but there are less expensive options to choose from. The presentation is always beautiful. I had the swordfish tacos and was very happy with the dinner. The clam chowder soup was also very delicious. So is the bread- they give you both whole wheat sour dough and white sour dough, yum.

This was our first time at this restaurant and we were sorry we had not gone sooner! The dinning room is lovely with high ceilings, large windows open to the shaded patio and the kitchen on full view. Our server was attentive, informative and very helpful with menu and wine selections. We shared a starter of ahi poke and a roasted beet and orange salad. Both were delicious and generously sized. Husband had the tuna belly schnitzel and my choice was the chilean sea bass. They were both excellent! We'll be coming back soon!!

The Fishery is always reliable for perfectly prepared delicious food, but the Tuesday Tasting consistently goes beyond. It is great value for money, but most important, it is always a special occasion and a great opportunity to see what a brilliant chef can do with excellent ingredients and extraordinary skill. Food of this quality is rarely achieved in San Diego at any price. Be sure to reserve and specify the Tuesday Tasting Menu, as it often sells out.

My friends and I were visiting from Arizona and went here to celebrate my birthday. Several of us started with clam chowder which was okay, but not remarkable. I decided to have appetizers for dinner and was very disappointed with the crab cakes, which were small, heavily breaded and had very little crab filling. (Thank goodness I was able to enjoy a large, moist and crab-filled cake at Anthony's Grotto the next day .). That's all I ate, so I can't comment on dinner dishes that likely led others to give good reviews. My friends liked their salads, sandwiches, etc. but were not overly impressed. The service was very good and other diners appeared to be enjoying themselves, so maybe a follow up visit would yield a different result.

we were there for a Tuesday Tasting - 3 courses + dessert (so 4 total) for $32 add the wine pairing for $12. it was several weeks ago that i dined there with our group, but i still recall the amazing first course of gazpacho with dungeness crab - wow! that was followed by perfectly sweet local melon wrapped in a smoked halibut 'prosciutto' - another wow! 3rd course was a lovely piece of locally caught tuna (don't remember sauce/topper) followed by the most perfectly sized hot chocolate lava cake with a scoop of homemade ice cream. the member of our party who didn't have the tasting menu had the Spaghetti & Swordfish Meatballs. she thought it was great but i found the meatballs odd (fish meatballs??). you just can't go wrong here!

Reel them in. You will want to if you are in San Diego. Started with the Fishery Roll. Delish and as good as any top rate sushi establishment . Classic Ceaser was very good and had that perfect anchovie background. Macadamia nut crusted Halibut was moist and really fresh and flavorful.
