"The Federalist was exceptional! Everything was delicious from the beef tartare to the Panna cotta. Don't miss this restaurant! Chef Harper has done an excellent job with developing the menu. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was equally so. The Federalist. Just go! :)"

"As it usually is, The Federalist prides itself on exemplary service and kind, patient waitstaff. The food was perfectly timed, beautifully plated and hearty. Starting with the English pea soup with mint and finishing up with a chocolate frappe and other small bites was a perfect way to celebrate Easter with family."

"We attended Easter Repast here, served family-style. It was like a tasting menu, starting with fresh pea soup, followed by 4 delicious appetizers (the Smoked Trout Salad was outstanding); then came a choice of entree, including lamb, salmon and steak, finished with 4 luscious desserts. All was accompanied by the best corn bread I've had, and I'm Southern. The food is very high quality and creatively prepared and presented.
The service was impeccable, the wine list good, and the cocktails fabulous. The Sakura Manhattan special for the Cherry Blossom festival is my new favorite. They make unique alcohol infusions that kick up the coacktails to new heights.
A fantastic and memorable experience!"

"Love the ambiance of this restaurant, it has quite an upscale, luxurious feeling to it without being "stuffy." Food was exceptional and the seared brussel sprouts are a must have!"

"I rarely fill out these reviews, but this was such a horrible dining experience I feel the need to warn others. The food was bland, lukewarm, and thoroughly underwhelming. The space itself was nice enough, but the chairs were cheap and not pleasant to sit in. I would be disappointed with food like this for one third the price, but the price tag just added insult to injury."

"We went to the Federalist for the 1st time (due to an interesting article in DC magazine) and was very impressed. We ordered a nice bottle of red wine from Argentina that we both thought tasted superb. She had the Beef Stroganoff, which she loved, and I had the Vegetable Dauphinoise that the chef altered to suit my gluten intolerance and was truly exquisite. For dessert she had the Valrhona Hot Chocolate and thought it both tasted excellent and was fun to eat as you dip the doughnut pieces in the hot chocolate. The cheese plate I had was only okay. I highly recommend the restaurant."

"There was really nothing very exciting or good about this place. I guess for the price we were expecting really delicious dishes where flavors were, well, delicious. The food wasn't bad. The servers weren't bad. Everything was just low level decency for upscale price. Totally not worth it. My dining partner called it 'upscale applebees'."
