Diner Reviews
  • "We really enjoyed the Sunday Buffet, there was a great variety of foods to choose from and even though they were not serving ham the day we went, I mentioned that I had seen it on the website and it was one of my favorite meats and within @ 5 minutes I had a plate of ham delivered to my table. Now that is serving the customer, ask and you might just receive. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great Brunch! The fruit selection and desserts were amazing as well!"

  • "The Farmer's Daughter is our favorite place to dine for a romantic date night. The food and service are out of this world."

  • "Attended with a small group from work. The purpose was to recognize a colleague for a special achievement. The atmosphere was ideal for a business setting. The service was very good, but a non-attentive. The food was very good. We started with a cheese board with a slection of local cheeses that was quite good. For entres the salads were quite good as were the sandwiches. One in particular, the crab cake sanwich with sweet potato fries was quite popular. They did have both a wine list and full bar removed from the dining room, but as a business lunch we went the iced tea route. The servers were good about keeping our glasss full. We will go back for other business functions."

  • "There were 9 of us who were constantly going back for seconds and thirds. Not one complaint until dessert....too many to choose from so most of tried it all! Much praise for the home made omlettes...lots of choices. Always fresh, hot coffee and plates cleared before you came back with new ones. Every seat was filled but conversation was easy...noise level extremely tolerable. I enjoy recommending this restaurant because I've only heard compliments, never a complaint!!"

  • "We love the farmers daughter! We go back whenever we get a chance. We actually got married at Normandy farms. So whenever we get a chance to share the experience with friends we do!."

  • "We were very pleasantly surprised- happened to be in the area last minute and was one of the few spots we could get a reservation on a Saturday night prior to 8:30 pm through Open Table- so decided to try it. Although walking past 2 weddings (Normandy Farms) was a bit disconcerting, we sat down to an overall excellent experience- great apps, meal (scallops were to die for), and service. We've told friends about it and probably will make sure we are in the area again!"

  • "The servers could not handle a simple birthday request that was emailed to the restuarnt through Open Table. Not a cake not a candle ! Very disappointed"

  • "Good food, great service for an early Sunday dinner. We had a reservation for our party of 4 but probably didn't need one. Bar looks inviting; will probably go back."

  • "The food was very good and we all enjoyed the brunch. The only thing I did not like was the fact that they added 20% gratuity to our bill. I do not believe that a buffet warrants a 20% tip. I always tip and tip well but I do not think there was enough "service" to automatically charge 20%. We had a few drink refills and a few plates cleared - and that was the extent of the service."

  • "I really enjoyed the food. They provided quality food with realistic portion sizes. It costs more than chain restaurants, but the quality is worth it. My girlfriend loved the rustic decor and ambiance. Lastly, the attentiveness of the staff was incredible. There was always someone filling water or taking another drink order when you needed them. Really impressive."

  • "We made reservations for the Farmer's Daughter for Valentine's Day. We were not sure what to expect. We were delighted by all aspects of this restaurant. The food selection was very broad, even for my picky husband. We had short rib flatbread for an appetizer. We also tried the Cheese fritters, which had a delicious remoulade sauce. My husband had the butternut squash soup and I had the caprese salad. Both were very good. My mozzarella was very fresh. For dinner my husband had a 22oz ribeye that was a special and I had the Veggie risotto....delicious! Would come back again just for that. Prices were reasonable and the service was very good. We are looking forward to returning soon!"

  • "The Farmer's Daughter can cook! Nestled inside Normandy Farms, the Farmer's Daughter is one of our perenial favorites for dinner. It has a nice, mature bar scene (translation = not the 20-30-something crowd), and well prepared continental fare. I save plenty of Weight Watchers "points" for the food. And, yes, it is worth the points!"

  • "Perhaps due to the ongoing bad weather and the holiday weekend there was hardly anyone in the restaurant . The food was good, the waiter was excellent so our party of three had no complaints. Homemade soups and icecream were met with very positive reports. The Asian salad was delicious. I'm sure we will dine here. again."

  • "The food is very good and the service is excellent. I think the prices are too high for the quality. The wine list is good and again very expensive."

  • "Farmer's Daughter was actually our 3rd choice after not being able to get into a couple of other local spots. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. Although it isn't cheap, it was a nice meal that was better than what you would think of suburban hotel restaurant food. We won't rush back but will probably go back."

  • "Service was slow - had to chase down drinks more than once and one of the meals - dirty dishes sat for a long time on table before cleared."

  • "My girlfriend and I chose the Farmer's Daughter for our special Sunday Brunch outing - & we were thrilled! The bellinis and omelets were especially outstanding!"

  • "Lovely setting on the Farms. The dining room was appealing, nicely lit and the tables well spaced. Food was interesting and wonderful. Unfortunately the traffic to and from the adjoining rooms and the noise level detracted from what would have been a perfect Saturday evening dinner with friends."

  • "While the food and the service were very good, the restaurant was like any hotel restaurant . I was expecting more."
    Dined on 1/11/2014
  • "Overall great experience but with events going on that night it was close to impossible to find a parking space (on a night with pouring down rain) Suggest something be done to have a parking section avail just for the restaurant."

  • "My husband and I went to The Farmer's Daughter to celebrate his birthday. We eat early so our reservation was for 5pm. It felt like we "owned" the dining room since we were the first couple there. The filet mignon, half of a twice baked potato and broccoli rapinni (?) and halibut with roasted mixed mini veggies and quinoa were delicious and served piping hot. The room was decorated with subtle seasonal displays and the stems of the orchids were wrapped with tiny while lights. It was simple and beautiful. The rustic table made me relax as did the sweet/tart whiskey sour. My husband loved his martini. We look forward to going back."

  • "We had a wonderful time on Dec 31. Had dinner with friends for our holiday celebration. Brian was our waiter and he is awesome. Want to request him every time. We were there for a round 3 hours just having a ball. The food was fantastic and the service phenominal. Price is up there, but well worth every cent."

  • "On two of the three scallop dishes ordered, two of three pieces served were perfectly cooked, the other was overdone. The third scallop order was excellent. The duck order was a bit tough. The beef order was mushy but maybe that was to be expected as the menu noted it was simmered for a several hours."

  • "Was a bit hesitant as some of the reviews of this restaurant were "spotty." How wrong they were. The food was EXCEPTIONAL-of a quality to satisfy the foodies at our table of 8. The meals were innovative, exquisitely prepared, large portions & delicious. Of specific note for our party were the short ribs, crab cakes, corn fritters, risoto & duck. We eat out every week, usually at high end restaurants and this one certainly falls within that category. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Some people complained about the slow service. This was not the case. If you are aftaid of running late, I would suggest you ask for our server-Nicole. She was wonderful. This is a great restaurant not to be missed. We will definitely go there again"

  • "I took two to TFD after a lovely experience with my husband. I was very disappointed in the service. While we were seated quickly, and our orders were taken promptly, there was no discussion (as there had been at my first visit) about the restaurant and its philosophy. Very quick intro and mention of a "special" which actually was on the menu. We ordered one beverage and then sat. And sat. Nobody came by for at least 10-15 minutes. The beverage was not delivered until we asked for it when the entrees were brought out. No apologies for missing the beverage, and no recognition that we'd need our water replenished. We had to ask for that as well. Then waited forever and had to ask for our check. Too expensive to be treated this way."

  • "Lunch menu is sandwich oriented, not alot of options beyond sandwihes. The lunch menu also does not appear to have changed in some time (a year?). The food was okay, nothing special about the meal at all. The dining area is a nice place; it is a good place to have lunch or dinner. They should be able to do more with it. If your looking for something a little special for a lunch engagement, whether with a group or a friend, you can probably do better."

  • "Hadn't been to this restaurant for a full dinner in many months. Had come to enjoy bar and bar food. Dinner was excellent. Some of the best flat bread I've had in the area. Nice ambiance for chatting with fellow diners."

  • "We were primed for an enjoyable lunch with relatives from Northern New Jersey who drove over 100 miles to join us. We had poor service, only fair food, and a waiter that reeked of garlic. I wondered why the place was empty, now I know. We won't be returning."

  • "I went here on a Sunday evening for dinner with my family. It was not a busy night so it was very quiet. The food was fantastic. The portions were just the right size, not too much not too little. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgable about the menu, and attentive without hovering. My only complaint is that the desserts were tiny. I'm talking literally bite size. While this is perfect for if we each ordered our own, we ordered several to share among us and even mentioned that to the waitress. If she'd told us how small the desserts were we not have done that."

  • "I eat at this restaurant on occasion, but I was a little disappointed this time. I love everything I have ever gotten off the menu. We sat in the bar area. There were three of us dining and we all got something different, and each of us said our food was just ok:( Which is unusual to me.)"

  • "The restaurant was about 10% of capacity. The food was OK , but not outstanding. Several of the entrees were merely combinations of two appetizers or an appetizer and a salad. There were seven dessert choices. Five involved chocolate. Over not many choices."

  • "Disappointed in the food. The dining room was attractive, but the noise level was somewhat annoying. Overall, had it not been for our outstanding server the evening would have been a greater disappointment. Overall, I would not go back and not recommend it"
