Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed our evening at The Farm House. Our only complaint was that both our entrees were too salty."

  • "Several years ago I happened upon this great little Italian restaurant and I have had it in mind ever since. My wife and I booked this place to celebrate our anniversary. Food was fresh and delicious. The staff were attentive and helpful."

  • "Excellent dining experience .... appetizers / entrees / drinks all were thoroughly enjoyed - deviled eggs & Pork Belly appetizers were a great start and washing them down with Watermelon Crawl & Murica-Rita ended up being a great choice... great spot just off Broadway in Nashville - Highly Recommended..."

  • "This place stands up to many of the icons in Nashville, including Capital Grill, Husk, Miel, Etch, etc. We started off with some great cocktails (watermelon moonshine) and some great appetizers (deviled eggs with smoked sea salt and BBQ biscuits). The BBQ was slightly dry but the whole dish had great flavor. My wife had the special surf and turf (duck and shrimp), with great flavor from the shrimp though the duck was slightly chewy. I had the lamb loin which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by bacon, gnocchi and local veggies - excellent multi-layered flavors and by far the star of the night. We also tried the Gouda Grits which were creamy and flavorful. All in all, this was a great dining experience which will be repeated soon!"

  • "The dinner was incredibly good. Was seasoned just right. A lot of restaurants either use too much seasonings or not enough. The Farm House was perfect. Choices were great. Of course everything was fresh. Only problem was ordered a bottle Double cola that was on menu and waited said they were out. So I asked if they had fountain cokes and was told yes. Waiter returned and said they were out. Not sure how a restaurant tubs out of coke but it was vey insignificant to my dining enjoyment. The restaurant was very noisy and at times my dining companion had trouble hearing each other. This was mostly due to a large party 2 tables over. Would suggest the restaurant seat larger groups separately from main dining area."

  • "It was okay. Overall the food was decent but not outstanding. The pork belly appetizer was really good, the entrees were...meh. It is overpriced for what it was. The service was okay, though a little slow. Probably won't go back because there are so many in restaurants in Nashville with much better food to choose from."

  • "My bread was served burned black on both sides, the flavors for the mussels tasted like instant onion soup, but the kale salad was good. Not worth the price."

  • "Wonderful evening, great food and service, one of our favorites."

  • "I was a bit skepitcal because you can't always believe professional reviews. It's a cool, rustic place right downtown. The food was really good. Lately every place seems to offer devilled eggs and theirs were the best I've tried. The whole trout was delicious. Also had a great salad. This chef knows what good food tastes like. I'd definitely recommend this to friends."

  • "We loved dinner at the Farmhouse. Staff was very nice and attentive. Food was incredible - sweet red corn, biscuits with BBQ and white sauce, deviled eggs, heirloom tomato/watermelon salad, hot chicken, trout. We loved it all. The sweet tea moonshine is a must try. My husband says this is his favorite restaurant in town. Would definitely recommend!"

  • "We didn't know what to expect but we're pleasantly surprised. The cornbread is a must have and the lamb loin was delicious!"

  • "On a ladies' night out, we would like to eat good food and chat. The food was very good but the noise level was not conducive to chatting. Will try lunch next time. Service was excellent. The beer and wine choices were excellent as well - please keep the craft brews on the list and add some more from Nashville."

  • "Food and service were excellent once again! Great staff that makes you feel right at home each visit. Great location. Just pull up to the door and walk in."

  • "I am a shrimp and grits snob and I have to say the Caroline Shrimp & Grits at The Farm House are some of my favorite in Nashville!!"

  • "We were entertaining guests from out of town and decided to venture to The Farm House once more even though the last time we went for brunch the service was poor. Needless to say, we will not be back there. The dinner was a huge disappointment (their brunch though is very good) and the service is horrible. Both times we went there the servers had attitudes, not very friendly and looked irritated when we asked for options with our meals (I'm on a strict diet and the waitress acted like "the chef" did not want to accommodate us). After speaking with the manager, he said he's sorry but that's about it. Again, won't be back...definitely try another Nashville restaurant like The Southern or Etch close by."

  • "The food was fresh and very tasty, the restaurant a little trendy and pricey. I would definitely recommend it for a night out ."

  • "Great way for city folk to enjoy farm fresh and farm raised stainable food. They claimed local, but when I think local, I think TN farms and they think USA local. The food was great and fresh, the atmosphere was noisy and the service was good. I would go again."

  • "The food was delicious and very creative; we loved the deviled eggs. Service was very slow - it was not clear if it was all the fault of the kitchen or in part the server. After being there an hour, we had still not received our food. We skipped dessert as we were tired of sitting. The atmosphere was fun, but loud."

  • "First time experiencing the Farmhouse. Our expectations were met. Started off with some selections from your extensive bourbon menu. Can't go wrong with good Bourbon! :-) The biscuits were primo. The addition of the pulled pork was a very pleasant surprise. One of us had the hot chicken, and I had the pork chop. Both were excellent! We split the the Blondie with the blackberry ice cream for dessert. Again, excellent. Great service and we were out in time to get to the Ryman for Bluegrass! Highly recommend the Farmhouse to all my friends."

  • "Had trouble getting reservations in the past, but lucked out the other night and it was fabulous. The whole experience was great. Greeted and seated quickly. Service was incredible. Our server was well informed and gave great suggestions. The menu has a little of everything. Prepared superbly."

  • "This was our first visit to The Farm House - it was delicious! We went for lunch - had deviled eggs for an appetizer, and then we had the BBQ sandwice with frites, the BLT with frites, and the chicken - served on risotto. For dessert we had the blondie bar with homemade ice cream. Everything was so good! We will be back!"

  • "We originally made our reservations for another restaurant but the Hotel Indigo staff recommended here and we changed plans. We loved the decor and friendliness of the staff. It ended up taking about 45-50 minutes to receive our order but it was worth every second. The cornbread and butter was the best I've ever had. My wife ordered the hot chicken and I ordered the pork chop. We would highly recommend both. Outside of the long wait, it's very good and we plan on telling friends about this place."

  • "This was our 3rd visit here & my wallet is definitely lighter, again. Food is done well & they stay with their theme of local sourced etc. Cocktails are great, just not used to throwing that kind of $$ around. It was a special occasion, don't know if I'd just go there for dinner out."

  • "Great experience. Busy Saturday night and we were seated promptly with our reservation. The sever was very helpful with wine and beer selections and offered samples to try. Shrimp and grits were Cajun style and awesome. Wing app was so good and cheap and others in our group had the catfish and loved it. Ample portions and really well prepared. Only issue is that it is a bit loud... By design I'm sure. Speak up for your group to hear you! Oh and the valets were very nice and helpful. We will go back!"

  • "Farmhouse is a gem! We love going to FH for wonderful, locally sourced food. The service is always top-notch. This is one of the most consistently wonderful restaurants around"

  • "Great service. The two omnivores were pleased with their food. The two vegetarians were hugely disappointed with the veggie entree and likely will never return."

  • "We were blown away by how creative and delicious the food was, easily on par with the best Nashville has to offer. The US only cocktail list was imaginative and delicious. The service was prompt anf fine, but our waitress was condescending and clearly wanted to be somewhere else."

  • "One of the better farm-to-table restaurants in Nashville. The food was innovative without trying too hard. The simple menu allows the chef to concentrate on each dish's quality. From appetizer (try the light and tasty butter biscuits with bbq) to entree (their take on hot chicken and the lamb loin were exceptionally good) to dessert (milk stout ice cream--need I say more?), every part of the meal was a delight."

  • "Went for lunch. The deviled eggs were great. We went healthy for lunch and were happy. Saw some massive sandwiches go by. It's in a ground floor space right in downtown Nashville."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "Highly recommend! This is now our absolute favorite. The food is all fresh and local, and without a doubt the best variety for a high end southern restaurant. Highly recommend the shrimp & grits and the watermelon cocktail. Also the Mac & Cheese is spectacular."

  • "From the first bite to the last, this food is superb. Chefs take delight in presenting beautiful plates with incredible combinations that please the palette and excite the taste buds. This is by far one of the best meals in memory and would alone make me return to Nashville for more. The only regret is that we found it the night before we left Nashville - otherwise, we would have returned for lunch or another dinner. James Beard take note. This is a candidate for an award. Food & Wine, add it to your Top 100 new restaurants of the year."

  • "We had a spectacular dinner at the Farm House. We loved the ambiance, the casual and earthy tone, the very cool bathrooms, our waitress, the local ingredients and the cornbread and maple butter was unbelievable. I fully expect never to have such a delightful cornbread anywhere else in the world!!! The rib eye was outstanding and our sides were awesome. We had made a reservation and were seated right away but we also told our friends about it and they went that same night and had just as wonderful an experience. You all are the best!!! Thanks ever so much!"

  • "I'm pretty certain I'm going to crave that simple pimento cheese and tomato app as well as the simple chicken wings. I'm absolutely certain I'm going to long for another taste of that plum upside down cake. We enjoyed our meal. Everything was good. But even on weekday evening the noise level was high."

  • "Had brunch with family (wife, 7yr old + in-law). Everyone left fat and happy. Biscuits and gravy were incredible. They made their own bologna which was amazing fried up on a sammy. Skillet plum upside down cake for dessert was the perfect ending to a southern brunch. Amen."
