  • "We had the most amazing food and service here. The chef came out to talk with us about how the fruit and vegetables are grown organically on the grounds, and he picks them himself; our wonderful server, Lisa, told us about the rabbit and lamb, and how they're also local and free range. to be honest, the prices are expensive, but well worth it. everything was cooked perfectly, and the desserts made in-house were also fabulous. We will definitely be back. We also appreciated the chef being from the area originally, and how he gives back to the community through his service with the school system and individual schools."

  • "Prior I attended a phenomenal wedding here and returned to take my husband for his birthday. Both experiences were pleasantly jaw dropping!!!! I expressed my experience to someone as I felt that I had dined in Beverly Hills in the middle of maryland! The food, service and ambience is to die for. Was especially impressed to learn all veggies are freshly grown on premises. Fresh veggies really enhanced the dinner. will return and thank you for making his bday special!"

  • "The reviews regarding food and service were great so based on that I decided to take my fiancee for her birthday. The GPS lead us back through country roads and the restaurant looks like a large home. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the host who quickly sat us. A few minutes later someone came to provide us with our choice of tap, spring or sparkling water. The waiter came shortly after to take drink and food orders. The waiter was extremely nice, accommodating and professional. While awaiting our drinks and appetizer we got two samples of other foods. Crab cakes Phenomenal! Seafood pasta Yummy! We ended the night with the ice cream dessert...where the ice cream tasted all home made! Can't wait to go again!!"

  • "We've been there several times for dinner, and once for brunch. The place is pretty, the service has been consistently good, and the food is always good. When ordering, keep in mind that the chef REALLY likes to sweeten foods, and order accordingly. Brunch was good, surroundings pleasant, but still a bit overpriced. Dinners the same, but don't seem as pricey for what they are."

  • "This evening there was a wedding going on in the garden as we arrived for dinner. We had very nice cocktails. The wine selection was nice. The appetizer list was fine with a very creative special offered. The menu is available on line with everything prepared well. I've been here before for a business dinner and it was wonderful then too. The specials this evening were particularly good (I love soft shell crab) Their crab cakes are awesome... Service here is great."

  • "I had the duck spring rolls, jerk style lamb, and a cherry almond tart. It was all amazing! My husband had French onion soup and a steak. The steak was cooked to perfection and the soup tasted fresh with an excellent flavor. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Plates could have been cleared faster and crumbs removed but overall it was good service."

  • "We have eaten many times at the Furnace Inn. This was not a good occasion. Though the dining room was nearly empty, our sever seemed distracted and not as responsive as usual. Two of us had the Caesar Salad, one adding chicken and the other shrimp. Thank goodness we ordered those supplements, otherwise all the salad consisted of was lettuce and caesar salad dressing. No shaved parmesan or croutons. The lettuce was fresh and crisp."

The food was outstanding, flavorful and delicious, done to perfection, but they add some unique touches at the same time. The service was great, and the overall atmosphere was lovely - beautiful historic building. Plenty of parking. Generally, they are a bit pricey but we had a special rate for Father's Day so that the whole family could be there. I can't wait to go back for a romantic dinner with my husband!"

  • "I am giving it two stars because I wasn't happy with the food or the service. I would have given a one star if not for the fact that the wine the waiter brought us was delicious. We had a Groupon for a $100. Nowhere on the Groupon did it mention any limitations except that it was for 4 people and could not be combined with other offers. We start ordering our appetizers, thinking it'd be easy to get to the $100 with the wine, apps and dessert. However, the waiter informed us that we had to order 4 entrees. SO, we ordered entrees that did not sound appeasing to us, and spent $200 in the process. Will not be going back again."

The food was great (the deserts are the best!), staff attentive, and the owner/chef came by. It is in a somewhat isolated location , and it was a wonderful night to walk around outside as well."

  • "My wife and I have our birthdays within 4 days of each other so we like to go to fancier restaurants to celebrate. We received a birthday coupon for the Furnace Inn and decided to go there for dinner. This was our second time visiting the Inn. Our fist experience was fantastic but sometimes that can be a fluke so we wanted to try it again and see if it held up. It did very much so. The food was amazing. My wife had a wonderful creamy corn and clam and crab chowder. We both got Steaks for our entrees which were cooked to perfection. The staff was courteous and accommodating and we really had a good time. This made my wife extremely happy and for that I have to give it the best rating I can give it. "

It was on the second floor in a corner which had a nice view of the trees and a nice degree of privacy. The dinner was great and our server really knew her business. Everything from first course to dessert was delicious and beautifully presented."
