Our lunches were exceptional! Seafood soup, ribeye steak, salad, warm rolls, good wine, great service. We were given complimentary champagne as it was our anniversary. The grounds are beautiful including a large garden where they grow all their produce. Not to be missed.

The Elkridge Furnace Inn feels very old-school. The building itself is a quaint, rustic building with a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony site. The waitstaff and busboys are very professional and helpful, with a decidedly classic service appeal. The food itself is absolutely delicious. I got the filet mignon with blue cheese on top and potato, corn, lima bean hash and I loved every bit of it! My wife got the seasonal special of soft shell crab (which was also delicious but I felt tasted a bit too seafood-y). There's a wonderful dessert tray as soon as you get in to whet your appetite, but my wife and I didn't indulge. We got the lemontini and Milky Way martini and both were exceptional (both in terms of flavor and in terms of strength).

We have dined several times at Elkridge Furnace Inn, choosing it when we want a pleasant, friendly, soul-uplifting evening. Each dinner course is prepared and presented with care. I savor each bite. Wine suggestions have always been most appropriate. We truly love dining here.

went for a birthday dinner for a friend. The service was excellent and attentive without being overpowering. The drink of the day was a blood orange champagne cocktail. Very good for special occasions but would not be my regular libation. The rockfish special was the best I have ever had and the veggies with properly prepared and tasty, perhaps because they come from the restaurant gardens. The other meals were equally impressive (crab cakes and soft shell crabs). We had the cheesecake duo for dessert which had a Happy Birthday in chocolate on the plate. During the meal the chef/owner came out to talk to the diners. He answered questions and was generally a very good host. Not inexpensive, but worth it.

One of our favorite restaurants! Everything is made on site and the menu changes regularly! We love taking out of town guests here. Also great for those with allergies. The owner/chef will specially prepare a dish when possible to remove allergens. The special events are fun and the food fabulous!,

The Inn feels as if you are 18th century England or in the French countryside. The architecture and interior furnishings are authentic, and the food gourmet. I think that must be why I and my husband were somewhat shocked by the "local" , "overly friendly" casual personalities of the host and server, especially the server. He would be perfectly suited as a bartender in a pub, and was out of place in this exquisite piece of history. He would be a great host and server at his own home as he was a comedian with all the guests he was serving. But, he was inconsistent and would be missing for awhile and then apologize. We ordered a bottle of wine which he poured before my cocktail had arrived. Funky backwards planning on his part.

Elkridge Furnace Inn is a great venue for romantic or professional gatherings (I've attended for both). My husband and I look to celebrate each anniversary here, with great food, attentive and friendly staff, and a wide selection of drinks. With their own gardens, the fruits and vegetables used in the meals are fresh and delicious. Even if you're a picky eater like my husband, there are foods for you (like delicious steaks!). The pastry department also has multiple dessert options each night, that take you outside of your stereotypical ice cream and brownie. All in all, I will be dining here again, and for more than just my anniversary dinner.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. Cameron recognized us when we walked in, our waiter was very attentive & both discussed our upcoming wedding there next May. We couldn't have been happier, since this was my fiancee's first time eating there & being able to try the food & he said his dish was amazing...I knew mine would be & it didn't fail me.

I had my birthday brunch here and the selection was excellent. Everything freshly made and local farmers are used. They have FIVE different mimosas!!! Did you hear me..FIVE!!! All of the food was great and my whole party loved their food. I highly recommend the french toast and pecan waffles. The blue moon and blushing mimosas were outstanding. This place is a well kept secret.

Our experience was good. It frustrated me to learn that it was "restaurant week" from a neighboring table and they were offering a special 3 course menu after we had ordered and been served our soup. Other, restaurants we have visited show you all the specials up front. I was a bit disappointed with my well done delmonico steak that was ordered slightly medium well. The atmosphere felt a little rushed due to the coming and going of guests and wait staff in our small dining room. My husbands plate was cleared from the table while he was literally eating . We had a reservation but the overall feeling was more in and out dining.

Elkridge Furnace Inn is a restaurant housed in a tiny old (beautiful!) house. That being said, the rooms are very small with only a few tables in each room. The tables are very close together and so you feel the need to whisper with your friends/family. It is almost awkward how quiet it is! But, it is a beautiful old house with lots of character! The waiters were very attentive, but not overly friendly. They seemed to take their jobs very seriously. Definitely tried to up-sell you to the expensive meal, additional salads, drinks, etc. The food was amazing! Portions were large, and the dessert was delicious! Overall, a very nice time!

Food was very bland...I have been here many times and was disappointed this time. Calamari appetizer...almost no flavor at all and the salsa with it was not worth the trouble of preparation. Shoulder steak..nicely seasoned but on the tough and stringy side and the green beans were definitely overcooked. Cheesecake dessert..very nice.

The Furnace Inn is so consistently wonderful! Staff is friendly and very professional. Food can't be beat and I love that the vegetables come from their own garden and local farms. My all time favorite place to eat. They have an extensive wine list and knowledgeable staff to help choose. Many kudos to Chef Dan and his staff.

The food was excellent. We dined during restaurant week. We loved the ambiance and we were happy with our choice for the evening. The only caveat was the service. Our waitress just didn't seem interested, forgot to bring us the "restaurant week" menu twice, ; and she didn't smile once.

I felt that the food was very fresh don't get my wrong! I just thought it was overpriced. The service was great, everyone was super kind and attentive. I would say the food wasn't anything super special although the steak was delicious (I didn't order it though, my husband did). I didn't feel like it was worth spending over 100, but that is just my opinion.

The Elkridge Furnace Inn has a lovely historic ambience of colonial elegance. The food was farm to table as evidenced by my fresh and tasty salad and the green bean side to my entree. Unfortunately my steak entree was somewhat tough which was disappointing. My Mango Creme Brulee dessert was a little too heavy on the mango flavor but was creamy and luscious. Service was attentive yet unobtrusive. Noise level was subdued and relaxed. It was easy to converse and enjoy the meal. The chef came out twice while we were there, and greeted two, but not all, of the tables. I feel this is somewhat of a gaffe, since it made those he did not greet feel overlooked and unimportant. Other than that, our experience was relaxing and pleasant.

Please read my review on Trip Advisor. I have nothing but high praise for this restaurant. Our meeting with ten Board members was held in a separate room, just for us. Jillian, our waitress, was professional, personalized, sensitive, aware, and timely. The Restaurant Week 3-course luncheon was outstanding. Each course was served with artistic flourish, delicious & fresh foods, and at correct temps. Afterward, our head waitress led us to the Wedding Point, where we toasted the birthday man with Prosecco, overlooking the flora & River. We even rocked in the chairs on the porch while waiting for our members, feeling we were living in this historic home. Everyone plans to return soon. The chef visited us at our table. Thanks!

Despite living only a few miles away, my wife and I had never been to the Elkridge Furnace Inn, a mistake we now regret a great deal. Wonderful appetizers, tremendous entrees, and DIVINE desserts. Great wine list. Wonderful atmosphere, reminiscent of Williamsburg. A personable, professional staff. Our server is named Lisa and she's well worth asking for. We were celebrating an anniversary, and the evening was perfect. We'll be back soon, and are still kicking ourselves for not having gone sooner.

We decided to give this place a try for Baltimore Restaurant Week. It's well-known for weddings and large events and the food served in the restaurant reflects that as well-mass produced! The flavoring was subpar and the veggies/sides seemed like they were just sitting in a hot serving dish all day. Unlike normal restaurant layouts, this one is inside of an old house and while that is cutesy, 5-6 tables are crammed into a small room and it makes you feel like you can't talk above a whisper because there are other guests in the room with you.

The appetizers and pastries were excellent. The entrees not so much. My crab Benedict had a hard English muffin, over cooked eggs and tasteless hollendaise sauce. My husbands omelet was average at best. While I might go again I would not reorder either entree. My friend said she enjoyed her French toast..

It was Restaurant Week in Balto. and we were looking for a place to celebrate my husband's birthday with another couple. The hitch was it was the last minute on Saturday night. Most of the good restaurants in Balto. that we wanted to go to were booked. I saw Elkridge Furnace listed with all those stars. I checked their menu for restaurant week, it was wonderful. It was a great find. We were most impressed by the ambiance. It must be lovely in winter when the fireplaces are lit. The wait staff were most professional. Even the owner made an appearance and stopped by each table to chat. I could not tell if he was also the chef. The place is tremendous, but in the dining room we were in, you could not hear anyone else. Dinner was delicious.

We had the most amazing food and service here. The chef came out to talk with us about how the fruit and vegetables are grown organically on the grounds, and he picks them himself; our wonderful server, Lisa, told us about the rabbit and lamb, and how they're also local and free range. to be honest, the prices are expensive, but well worth it. everything was cooked perfectly, and the desserts made in-house were also fabulous. We will definitely be back. We also appreciated the chef being from the area originally, and how he gives back to the community through his service with the school system and individual schools.
