Elephant Walk, The - BostonStepped out of our NormWe chose to spend our anniversary trying something out of the ordinary for us and were very happy that we did. The Nataing was outstanding and while we decided to go with the french menu for our entrees, considering how delicious those were, I'm sure the Cambodian entrees are to die for as well. Overall it was a great dining experience.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMdelicious, beautiful mealWe love nights at the elephant walk. Always I meal I look forward to. Fresh, unique, exquisite, and delicious. As someone how dines out quite frequently, I'm very critical of restaurants - Elephant Walk is definitely in my top 5 favorites in the city!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent & DeliciousI've been to this location of The Elephant Walk 3 or 4 times, and every visit has been fantastic. The servers are always very well spoken and welcoming, and the food is always excellent. The menu is interesting and can often intimidate the unfamiliar diner... So don't be shy and ask questions, the servers are very helpful. The truth is, you can't go wrong with anything.... It's all delicious.
The fixed price menu is a great way to sample both the Cambodian and French elements, and it helps keep you focused on a smaller sample of the menu, which is helpful in making a decision.
I would highly recommend the Elephant Walk for a great meal and something a little bit different than what you're used to.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I tried theMy husband and I tried the Elephant Walk last Saturday and had a lovely evening. We were seated at a corner window table, perfect for a beautiful June evening. Our server was attentive, but not overly so, gave great recommendations when asked. The spring rolls are so delicious that I could have skipped the rest of the meal, but our entrees were also very good. I would definitely recommend the Elephant Walk based on our meal.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this placeOur waiter (I believe his name was venenzio?) was outstanding. The food was superb, I really enjoyed the loc lac and the pork spring rolls w/ basil and mint were to die for. I can't say enough about this place. It's one of my new favorites.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDurable Excellence; Local OriginalMy friend/colleague and I reconnected here to catch up. The conversation was all the better because we got the opportunity to rediscover this lovely, yummy spot. (Both of us have been in the Boston/Cambridge area for over 20 years.) The decor has been revitalized, the staff have retained their commitment to friendly, helpful service, and. . . the. . . FOOD. It is so admirable that the menu continues to evolve. Both our lunches were excellent.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is always very goodThe food is always very good and service usually is. While the noise can get energetic, it's still much better than either the business scene or young party type restaurants that are so common in Boston.
The options of either French or Cambodian food mean that almost everyone can find something that they like.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent foodTruly excellent dining experience. Menu can be confusing as a lot of the same dishes show up multiple times, but once you figure it out it's worth it. French-Cambodian food extremely tasty. You can't go wrong.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWill be back for more!!Love this cute place!! This was my second visit to the Elephant Walk and will not be my last! Their dishes are exquisite and the portions are just right. Had their three course traditional meal...delicious spring rolls and chicken in coconut milk with rice!! YUMMMM!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMa perfect Mother's Day dinnerWe enjoyed a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere. Elephant Walk's decor is superb, the lighting is relaxing, and the servers are lovely. We always like the Prix Fixe menu that provides many choices for a great price. As a vegetarian, I greatly appreciate the ability to make almost any dish meatless! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is openminded to trying different and delicious cuisine!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous FoodThe food at Elephant Walk topped our high expectations. The menu was very interesting with lots of vegetarian and gluten-free choices (not a concern for any of the four of us, but nice to see) and the food was delicious. Everything we had was new to us and now a new favorite. I will recommend the restaurant to anyone who asks and will never miss a chance to eat there.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food! The food was delicious and had several options for
Diet preferences. Very reasonable prices for the quality of the food. I
Would return there every time I'm in Boston.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat foodThe food is declicious and unique. Come and try different items. We had a 4 course meal for $38 that was excellent. The space could use a little updating. I don't think it has been updated in years and there is so much potential with a Cambodian French focus. Also, the service here is usually quite good, but we had to wait some time to flag down our waiter. We were in the front room and it wasn't so busy, so the only time he was in the room or could see us was when he was actually doing something. It was a little annoying since we wanted to pay our bill and get going and had to wait 10-12 minutes to get his attention. But overall worth a visit and really good food.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional food, mundane service. We dine here frequently when we are in Boston. While the food never disappoints, the experience was diminished by a valet who seemed more interested in leaving than parking my car (he suggested he would park it and give me keys to retrieve myself), a host who matter of factly escorted us to our table simply dropping menus with no welcome or dialogue, and a waiter better fit at a walk up window than assisting people with fine dining.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCambodian is a new cuisineCambodian is a new cuisine for me personally and I trusted the menu and felt very comfortable trying the trout dish. It was outside my wheelhouse but I LOVED it. Well cooked, perfect sides. Ended with some mint tea.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDishes are too heavily seasoned..Everything is fine except the dishes are either too sweet, oily, or heavily seasonsed.. Became very thirsty after meal. Other than that, the service was good and the ambiance was ok.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for lunchAlways enjoy elephant walk for lunch. Food delicious and it's comfortable to hang out and visit. We had the shrimp curry dish, the steak and the tuna with two sauces. All were quite good. We've been coming a few times a year for many years and will continue.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and interestingDelicious and interesting food. Many vegan options.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, prepared veryExcellent food, prepared very well and beautifully presented.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant week choiceGreat restaurant week choice - menu was great and all the food was delicious.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTried both the French andTried both the French and Cambodian options for Restaurant Week as a culinary adventure. Both were fantastic, thoughtful combinations of ingredients packed with flavor. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially those looking for authentic French food.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed the chickenReally enjoyed the chicken and pork dishes they had for Boston Restaurant Week.
Their salad was pretty awesome too.
Overall, a great experience. Would recommend it again!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to the Elephant WalkWent to the Elephant Walk in Boston for Restaurant Week - imagine my surprise when I was able to enjoy a fantastic four-course meal with a friend for less than the typical Restaurant Week prix fixe price. The ambiance was comfortable, and only became a bit noisy as the evening progressed and more parties showed up to the restaurant. The wait staff was considerate and polite. Would definitely visit again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a nice experience.Cambodian-French influence.Food is delightful for both vegan and non-vegan dinners. And it offers gluten-free selections as well. We had lunch but we have dined for dinner. This Boston location is better than the Waltham location in every regard.I have not tried the Cambridge location.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe experience was amazing! EspeciThe experience was amazing!
Especially cause I have tasted a lot of the plates at my gf's family's houses, and they were cooked and taste really good!
Loved it!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWent out for a GNO it wasWent out for a GNO it was fantastic and affordable!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for lunch during RestaurantWe went for lunch during Restaurant Week. It was fantastic. They made a good sampling of their menu available so we could try some of their more interesting dishes. Each was prepared with care and the flavros were clean and bright. I would absolutely go back.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe enclosed patio area isThe enclosed patio area is a nice way to spend an evening on a snowy night in Boston.
Food is interesting, though I prefer the French side because of occasionally salty Cambodian side (most asian food is salty from fish sauce, soy sauce, etc.).
Mussels were nicely cooked though I had one that didn't open that should have been fished out. Duck breast was nicely cooked medium rare.
Only real negative was the chocolate truffle cake came out too cold, so it was too hard to eat.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant and delicious--hadElegant and delicious--had a great meal at a European pace in a beautiful restaurant. Can't wait to go back.3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place!!!! TheI love this place!!!! The cooking is creative, healthy and mouth-wateringly good. The French and Cambodian menu options mean that you can go with vegetarian items and not feel deprived, or you can go with decadent items, or both. It's always quiet enough at Elephant Walk to have a conversation, but it's filled with other people who are loving it too. There are interesting cocktails and lovely wine options. We go here regularly and have never had anything less than a great meal with great service.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty Food, Nice AtmosphereI like this restaurant. The food is good, and interesting.
The blending of Cambodian and French cuisine is a hit!2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE THE ELEPHANT WALK!Our regular attendance at the Elephant Walk should be review enough. We love this place! Recently I went online to try to make a home version of their spicy mussels (Leah Chah) and was delighted to find a recipe by their very own chef. The mussels we made were almost as good as the ones we get in the restaurant. Perhaps we'll have to dine in again soon for cooking tips.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful for a mixed groupWonderful for a mixed group with vegetarians, vegans and omnivores!1/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
