I used to like this place. But the last few times I've been there, I feel the food quality has declined, menu selection is uninspired, and prices too high for what you get. I won't be coming back.

This is a neighborhood place close enough to walk to the theater, which is what we did. The mushroom risotto was outstanding as was the beet salad. Excellent service as well.

Our waiter was very nice! But he brought both me and my friend the wrong dish. When we told him, he re-did our order, but still brought my friend the wrong dish! It was good but not what we ordered. There were only two customers at the restaurant while we were there so the music seemed very loud. We asked our waiter to the turn the music down a bit and he said he could not because their sound system was "weird". Instead, he had us move to another table... So again, the waiter very nice but the service not so much!

The hosts try to give the worst tables to anyone who will permit it. This is the second time they tried to seat us at a duce against a wall looking at a wall. Told us they had too many reservations to give us a decent table because they were all for 4 persons but, on our way out, we saw the same tables with just two persons. This was our third and last visit there. The way the restaurant is divided, the sound has several walls to bounce from and it does!!! One of the noisiest places I have had the displeasure to visit. On top of everything else, no coffee was offered. I guess they even needed our bad table. (it was supposed to be a table for 3 but no paper at my place. They just didn't care.

One in my group did the chef's menu which was a fixed price 3 course meal with many good choices. I had the peach and burrata sald....which was excellent! another in our group had the gaspacho soupd and liked it very much. I had the stuffed mushrooms as an entree...which were quite delicious. The others had steak salad, which was very filling, and scallops which looked quite good too. We were going to theater nearby, so they got us in and out on time without making us feel rushed.

Enjoyed every minute of our meal at this restaurant and will come again. Our only caveat, small but troublesome: the beautifully-seasoned gazpacho was full of tiny pieces of hard tomato skin that was impossible to chew; had to remove it from our mouths and put it on the side of the plate. This is inconsistent with the rest of the great meal. Perhaps they will notice and review the recipe!

We were in the area, looking for a dining spot and selected Eclectic Cafe. It was a good choice and I was glad to find another good option in this area. We had dinner and ordered off of the dinner menu, and all of our party of 5 were pleased with our food. I was pleased to see that they have a secondary post dinnertime happy hour menu. I would come in for that, as well.

We chose Eclectic for its proximity to The El Portal Theatre (steps away). My friend and I had a wonderful experience with outstanding service from the hostess, bartender, and servers, etc. We ordered the Lobster Ravioli; and the King Salmon with Mushrooms & Mascarpone Risotto Special. It didn't quite blow us away, but we did enjoy it, left feeling happy to have been there, and would definitely choose it again.

David (bartender, server) and Brian (server) are absolutely the best. They make us feel so welcome and cared for. And the hostess that night was very warm and friendly and accommodating too. The entire experience was perfect. We had to make ourselves not go back the following night, at the risk of looking too eager. But we'll return soon, for sure.

We were seated promptly (reservations helped), and enjoyed good service and a fine meal before heading over to the nearby NoHo theater where we had tickets to a play. The location of The Eclectic is ideal for this purpose, and I am sure that we will dine there again the next time we are attending a play in that area. The stuffed mushrooms were an excellent appetizer, and we were equally pleased with our entrees: a Seared Ahi Tuna salad, and a Paella with shrimp, mussels, clams, chicken, and sausage. I cannot comment on their desserts because we did not have enough remaining appetite and time to explore them, but will likely do so next time.

we ordered appetizers and salads due to a time constraint, having tickets to a show starting in less than one hour. the lamb chop appetizer arrived after 25 minutes and was raw. after another ten minutes, the sliders and one of the two salads (wedge) arrived--both were good. the other salad ordered apparently was not submitted to the kitchen. the additionally "cooked" lamb chops were still raw upon return. the owner was kind and apologetic, and the waiter was friendly, but we were ignored much of the time.

I have to be honest, my last review here wasn't so great. That said, after a really bad experience (one that over shadowed the plenty of good experiences at Eclectic), the new owner, Laura, reached out to me directly. We went back in to give it another try upon her request. My friend and I had a great evening, and the service was terrific. It actually means a lot when an owner or manager goes above and beyond to make sure to correct a bad experience. This is a solid establishment and I will be eager to continue to support them and their place in the community! Get the Le Fruit de le mer and my personal favorite, the shortrib never disappoints!

While the food was fine but nothing to write home about....the pre theater service was terrible! It took an hour for our table to be served the first course. The frustrating part is our server didn't seem to notice or care. Nor did the hosts. It was pathetic actually. Everyone has an off night, but the lack of customer service from the moment we entered the restaurant, to the clueless manner in which our server did his job, and with many other restaurant options in NoHo, we won't be back to Eclectic!

I've been going to the Eclectic Restaurant for many years and one thing which never disappoints are the drinks. They have many varieties and they "hit the spot." The customer service is also great. However, the food tends to get more bland by the year. I wish they would add more flavor or seasoning to their food. Don't overdue it but makes the customer taste that "kick."

As soon as my friend and I walked in, we were greeted by a lovely hostess. Our waiter was very helpful and gave wonderful recommendations for cocktails. I had a refreshing signature drink called the crystal cosmopolitan. I'm a huge seafood fan, so I thought I'd try out the Fruits de la mer. Yummy dish, just a tad bit too spicy for me. I must have overlooked that part when reading the menu description. Overall, I loved my experience at The Eclectic. I am definitely coming back and recommending this spot to all my friends and family. I want to try everything on their menu.
