The DuckMade a special occasion "special"The Duck's food, service and associates made our gathering a wonderful afternoon. We came for a retirement party from Connecticut and Massachusetts and all agreed it was worth the drive. This was our first visit back in six years and we went to The Duck. Brought back good memories. Food was very good and wait staff was very attentive. Food is always good as is the service. This visit, we had ordered a appetizer that was sub par, we mentioned this to the waitress, and she immediately said she would take it off the bill. Our favorite entree is their fish stew, which never disappoints. We were greeted with friendly smiles and good service. The food was good. The shrimp I had was very interesting, spicy and delish. I will return to the duck when we visit this area again. My only disappointment was the the house wine I selected was not very good. We wanted to do something different for Mother's Day, everyone that comes to visit us loves the ambiance of the country setting we live in, taking full advantage of Sturbridge and all it brings. The Duck did not disappoint. The open beam dark wood barn setting is exactly what we had hoped for, the kid friendly environment is what we needed, the attention to dietary restrictions was so important, having a Gluten Free menu was a major plus, and then the service and the food for everyone at the table, party of 7, was amazing. From the Salmon to the scallops and a gluten free menu to the chicken pot pie, everyone was raving about the food and setting.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA very pleasant experience.Met a friend from South Windsor CT for lunch. We always meet about half way which is Sturbridge. I had the Chicken Pot Pie and it came in a bowl big enough to serve an entire family but, I ate almost every last bit of it by myself. It was delicious., stocked full of huge chunks of carrots, potatoes, even waxed beans. My friend had the chicken Caesar salad and enjoyed it as well.
