The Duck Club Restaurant and Drake’s Fireside Lounge celebrate Sonoma’s bounty. Your dining experience will be driven by local seasonal availability of sustainably farmed produce, seafood and meats. Chef Jeff Reilly has established close relationships with local organic farmers, ranchers and artisan cheese makers creating a delicious and innovative menu. You will enjoy stunning views of Bodega Bay, the Pacific and beyond. Savor the seasonal offerings, serene views and an authentic culinary experience of our Sonoma Coastal Cuisine.

Our beverage program is headed by Sonoma County native Director of Food and Beverage and “Wine Guy” Bill Govan who has longstanding associations with many in the local food, wine and farming communities. We have a full bar and offer wonderful local non-alcoholic options as well. Our wine list features almost exclusively Sonoma County wines as we love to support our neighbors who help make Sonoma County the Tuscany or Provence of America.

Diner Reviews
  • "Over rated the food just so so. Chocolate cake was yummy but not really happy with the meal. My husband and I both shared an appetizer and had a bowl of soup and the main entrée was the rib eye steak. Nothing really made us go wow. If coming back to the lodge think I would pass on the Duck Club."

  • "Everything we had to eat was delicious. I did not give it 5 stars just because I have had never but not that often. The sever was extremely nice. The view was outstanding."

  • "We purchased a Living Social Coupon - coupon $25 for $50 food for "each customer". We purchased 4 coupons for four people. We were told by the maitre'd that the coupon was only for "each table". The Duck Club should have their coupon worded appropriate - "coupon valid for each party/table"."

  • "Beautiful scenery with outstanding food and service. The selections were carefully thought out and yet it was difficult to make a choice because of it. We felt this place won a place on our list of Fine Dining and will go back with guests."

  • "While the food was good , the server was a bit slow. She never offered us a second round of drinks. The most attentive and accommodating was the busser. He never missed a beat. Also you need to have more than just two choices of seafood. You had only salmon and halibut. I realize it's seasonal but never missed a beat. • "The food was not anything special and very small portions. The ribeye was the best. The view was not anything spectacular."

  • "The Duck Club remains to reign over the roost of restaurants in Bodega Bay. It is always within the two top spots to eat and enjoy Bodega Bay"

  • "This restaurant has a beautiful location and views for almost every seat in the house...except for ours. We were shuttled to the ONE table in the entire room that didn't have a view. Honestly, it felt like they added this table for the summer months, when demand is high, because although I was able to look out at the views, my husband's seat was facing two walls. And there wasn't even a picture to look at, just walls. It truly felt insulting, as no one else was treated to this view. The service was fine, but the food was good, not great. The prices were high for the quality of the food. I think you're paying for the view."

  • "The setting at Drakes was warm with fireplace glowing with ocean views. Got crowded and loud after a while so happy to have reservations at the restaurant. Had great crab cakes with a spicy sauce and a tomato compote were nicely prepared without filler. The atmosphere in the restaurant is comfortable with views of the bay and expert wait staff. We were served a wonderful duck salad with baby greens, then gnocchi which were little square mushy potato pancakes. The Angus rib eye you could cut with your fork and full of flavor with a little too much sauce. We also had a salad with blue cheese and apples that almost had no dressing. It's a good, convenient restaurant if you have golfed and/or do not want to drive elsewhere. "

  • "One superb order of crab cake appetizer - one excellent butter lettuce salad - one very well prepared and presented fresh seasonal halibut - one excellent steak - great view - two wines by the glass. The only small imperfection was one of the wines by the glass had been opened too long and was tired, otherwise an excellent meal. "

  • "I stayed in Sebastopol and asked around for a recommendation and that is how I found The Duck Club. So glad I asked a local. The food was delicious. Some of the best halibut and sole my guest (my mom!) and I had ever had, respectively. The wine pairing was perfect. I am the type of gal that likes to know where my food comes from. I also appreciate a well trained chef. Both of my standards were surpassed. The service was PERFECT. Everyone was friendly, informative, and attentive without being intrusive. I will most definitely be back and suggest it to my friends. "

  • "Scale of dining area kept it intimate and noise levels down. Professional staff. Great wine pairings with sampling offered.breads artisanal. Spectacular view. Food was fresh and fun. Fruit crisp with a dollop of honey ice cream a perfect punctuation."

  • "For a special birthday dinner, we made a reservation here. At first they offered us a table along the back wall of the restaurant. No way. We requested a table in the front windows which look immediately out to ponds, a bird sanctuary and the ocean. They said ok if we could wait a bit. Ten minutes later we were seated. Yes! The food was outstanding, and we really enjoyed our waitress. She was low-key, warm, funny and super competent. She also had good knowledgeof the wine menu and steered us well. We would definitely go back!"

  • "The food is amazing here! Love the ambiance and the view too. Everyone there is very nice and helpful, though the service was a bit slow. Granted it was Mother's Day, but the tables were not full. We arrived at 6:45 and left after 9. That being said, it's a wonderful place to "have" to spend extra time. A little bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Every bite I try always astounds me. Make a night of it, highly recommended "

  • "I was not impressed with the enviornment. Bret the server was awsome. The chicken entree was dry and tasteless. We will not return. Too noisy and not enough lighting.nice wine list"

  • "The view and ambiance were only surpassed by the food, from it's presentation and preparation it reviled any up scale restaurant in the big city, we would not hesitate to return to the restaurant or hotel for it's accommodations. "

  • "We were greeted immediately and led to a window table with a panoramic view of Bodega Bay, Harbor and marshlands as the sun was setting. Cathleen was very attentive without rushing us. Our cocktails were served quickly. Soup and salad courses were very good. Both of our entrees (blackened salmon special and the best halibut ever, according to my wife) were pleasingly presented and were cooked to perfection and they provided some of the best breads we have found. I selected a recommended wine-by-the-glass and found there to be perhaps too much going on in the glass or possibly some oxidation which subdued the expected sharp Zinfandel character. Dessert was also outstanding as we shared the special."

  • "We stayed two nights at the Bodega Bay Lodge and chose to dine at The Duck Club the first evening of our stay. We made an excellent decision as the overall experience was fantastic. The dining room was full but comfortable and service was great all evening. The wine list was extensive and offered some great selections. The menu options were many. We had a wonderful dining experience and highly recommend The Duck Club."

  • "This is a lovely spot for a quiet celebration. Even though there was fog, it was great. Service was as always outstanding. The Halibut was very good as was the Saltimbocca, even though it was a bit tough. Strawberry pie was terrific, a nice sweet bite to end the meal. The view is the main reason we enjoy this restaurant. Who wouldn't enjoy a good dessert and a view of the water?"

  • "Excuse the pun, but it means well. The food was great, our server, Cathleen, prompt and professional. When I asked about a specific bar item she said she was new and retrieved the answer for me quickly. My guest raved about the halibut and was going to only eat half, but couldn't stop once she started. As a vegetarian, I chose not to challenge the chef because the gnocchi looked special (I usually avoid it) and it was superb. We will be recommending this stop to many, many people. Keep up the good work! "

  • "We enjoyed the local cheeses, meats, and wines. As is typical with restaurant food, it was all a bit salty and rich for our taste, but overall it was still very tasty. The prices are a little high, but the quality of the ingredients and the incredible setting account for that. The butter leaf lettuce salad with pears is a new favorite. The bar/lounge is excellent. Very comfy and cozy and the bartending was exceptionally good (they got the classics right). The view from most of the dining room over the bay is spectacular at sunset. This is a really nice spot for a nice dinner out. "

  • "The last time I dined at the Duck Club was over 20 years ago so I was looking forward to a new dining experience. The Seafood stew that I had viewed on their web site Monday was no longer available so I deferred to the Pan Seared Liberty Duck Breast which came with Citrus Glazed Organic Carrots, Baby Kale, Farrotto, and a Montmorency Tart Cherry Duck Sauce. Delicious, fabulous and beautifully served. My companion decided on the Pork Loin Saltimbocca with Highway One Fontina which I forgot to taste but was delicious and wonderful, I was told.We also split a Butter leaf Lettuce Salad which even split in half filled up two salad plates completely. We finished the meal with Jeff’s Mom’s Chocolate Cake which had a cream cheese frosting. Yum. "

  • "I made an online reservation, mentioning the need for a vegan meal for my wife as the entrée menu here has nothing close to vegan. To the restaurant's credit, the server had been informed of my wife's allergies and vegan status when we were first approached by him. There was soon some confusion, however, as the server had not specifically told us what the chef would be preparing for a vegan entrée and we were left confused after he took her order for a salad and walked away. After he cleared things up with the kitchen- there was an entree specially created for my wife (roasted vegetables over quinoa) and it was delicious! So... a little unfortunate confusion, but some great food in a lovely setting (with a wonderful view)."

  • "This is our "go to" Bodega Bay special occasion spot, and we and friends who join us have never been disappointed. Small, intimate dining room has wonderful views of Bodega Head and the bay, and a fireplace for foggy nights. Crab cakes a must, and the duck and halibut we had this last trip were fantastic. The service is efficient, and will make you feel very welcome. The wine list features carefully selected small local wineries that you might otherwise miss. Sommelier Bill knows his personally chosen selections well, and is happy to make recommendations for wine pairings, and fill you in on the winemakers and wineries."

  • "I know its a Sonoma coast restaurant but it would have been nice to include some wines from other other areas such as Napa Valley. Staff was friendly and warm. Beet salad and crab cakes were excellent. My salmon was fair. My husbands halibut was very good. Excellent creme brulee and from a previous night, Jeff's moms chocolate cake is amazing."

  • "This restaurant has spectacular views and comfortable atmosphere. The wine list is excellent and diverse, and we had two wines by the glass that were very good. Bread was warm and good quality. Appetizer was a duck confit salad that was well balanced and the confit was tasty and well done, and well matched with the salad and dressing. We ordered two entrees: Chicken two ways. and lamb ragu. The lamb was not as tender as one might expect, and the flavor was overwhelmed by salt to the degree that the lamb taste was a background. The chicken confit was better than the breast, which was herbed and when you got a good taste of the herbs was quite good, but in general, the herbs didn't get to most of the meat, which without the herbs was bland."

  • "The night we were there the service was extremely slow. It appeared they needed more wait staff or the kitchen needed more help. We had breakfast there the next day and service was a bit too quick. I had had a plate of food left and they asked if they could takes plate. At least they asked."
