Diner Reviews
  • "The entire staff was very friendly. They accommodated our request for a window seat and we were able to watch the sunset while we dined. The food was exquisite and our server even offered to split all of our courses to make it easier for my husband and I to share. Our server was excellent and gave us the best service we have ever received (I believe Karen was her name). The chef even sent out an amuse bouche for us in-between courses and again at the end for an additional dessert. I am already looking forward to my next dining experience here."

  • "We specifically came to the Dining Room expecting a standout meal. It was only average. The wine list although extensive was not diverse enough for our taste. For example there were no New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs. We were not guest at the hotel, so we had to pay an admission fee to the Biltmore House grounds to enjoy our dinner reservations. The Biltmore House tour was outstanding! So all in all, we had a very good experience. But, we would not recommend this restaurant."

  • "Great service, food and view! We wanted lamb and it was not in the menu, but the chef had just got some in from Colorado for the next night's menu. He made us a special order (two thick, tender pieces, cooked to perfection)"

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 12th anniversary at The Dining Room. We'd originally had reservations at the Sunset Terrace at the Grove Park Inn but were turned off by poor reviews. So we booked our dinner here instead. Best. Possible. Decision. Karen served us and was absolutely outstanding. We've never experienced service like that. Watching the sun set on the Blue Ride Mountains as we ate was stunning. And the food was perfect in every single way. We opted for the three course meal. I had the seafood tomato bisque and filet, and my wife had the spinach appetizer and filet as well. The portions, temperatures, timing, and overall experience were perfect. Karen recommended the chocolate pate for dessert, and we are so glad she did. 5+ stars."

  • "I took my fiance and her son to the Dining Room at the Biltmore Estate for her 50th Birthday. We had the five course meal with a bottle of wine. The food was fabulous. The service was outstanding. And the views were amazing. Any day at the Biltmore is a great day, but capping it with a celebration dinner at The Dining Room is very special indeed."

  • "This is the Dining Room at the Inn on the Biltmore Estate. It is amazing! The service is beyond belief! The quality of the food is unbelievable! The five course meal perfect. The portions are just right. The variety is interesting and the quality is superb. We also had breakfast and it was just as great. Highly recommend the experience. I would suggest a package deal, which include valet parking, breakfast and dinner as well as tickets the the estate. Fantastic experience."

  • "The Dining Room was the perfect place for dinner on our trip to Inn on Biltmore for our 30th anniversary. Our window table had a view of Biltmore House and the mountains. The extensive wine list was excellent. Our 5 course dinner included hot and cold appetizers, a seafood and meat entree plus an amazing dessert. The service was excellent and the entire experience was first class. Anyone celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great resort with a top notch restaurant should consider the Inn on Biltmore and The Dining Room restaurant in Asheville, NC."

  • "We returned to The Dining Room to celebrate another anniversary. We have done this several times before, but this was the best experience. We received complementary champagne before and after dinner. They have a new Prix Fix menu and it was great. Our server was outstanding. We were never rushed and enjoyed a wonderful evening!"

  • "Beautiful view, beautiful room, beautiful food. The Dining Room is high-end dining. The prices on the menu and wine list reflect it, so be prepared. Our service was somewhat slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Portions are small. Most tables were couples, but we did see a table of ten having a birthday party - there's a little of everything. Overall great experience, but I'm not sure we will return unless it's a very special occasion."

  • "We have been to the Dining Room at the Inn many times. It is always a pleasure to dine there. However, the steaks were a little overdone on this occasion. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience."

  • "The new 3, 5 or 7 choice price fixed menu features interesting and high quality choices. The Diver Scallops were magnificent. The Bison was good. All of the food was good to great. I like a more traditional menu and missed the old menu, but that being said, the overall dining experience was wonderful!"

  • "We decided to indulge for a special anniversary in the 'hood. And it was a wondrous happy evening of great food, wild elegance and well trained waiters. Each morsel artfully presented was delicious, really nice small portion sizes since one chose a 3,5, or 7 course meal. The view was perfect, the place quiet so we really could talk and enjoy it all and felt like we had entered a time/culture warp and all was well in the world and we were the royal couple in some other era of entitlement and wealth! After dinner in the darkness we walked down the lit path and the magic continued.....Not for a reasonable person's budget but it was a perfect celebratory event not to be forgotten!"

  • "The Biltmore did not disappoint when it came to service and class. We had an outstanding server, Chris Cole, who was knowledgeable and friendly. We shared the pork belly confit for an appetizer, which was incredible. My mom ordered the twin lobster tails which I was a bit weary of, being from Maine. They were outstanding. I ordered the halibut; it was slightly dry, but delicious none-the-less. Dessert was lemon soufflé. What a fun menu, excellent view, and memorable experience. Wish I lived closer so I could say "I'll be back!""

  • "We celebrated our 10th anniversary at the Inn for 3 days with our children and their Grandparents. It was a lovely time for us all. We ate breakfast twice and had just one dinner at The Dining Room while there. We made it a dinner for the two of us while the kids and Grands ate at another location. The dinner was lovely. There were just enough selections to look over without it being overwhelming. We were treated with a special dessert and dessert drink so special. We wanted a quiet and fancy dinner, which the waiter was sure to help provide. At this time in our lives we only get to enjoy these kind of evenings once in a great while, but I'm glad we selected The Dining Room at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. Thank you."

  • "I was extremely happy with each of experience at The Dining Room on the Biltmore Estate. My wife and I were staying at The Inn and picked up the bed and breakfast package that included a buffet style breakfast. Everything was delicious! During my trip I tried everything including the waffles, omelets, breakfast deserts, sausage and bacon... It was all great. Stuffed myself every day. For dinner I had a salad and a mixed drink, bison and a glass of wine, and sorbet and some scotch for desert. All very good--however, I would get the bison rare next time (medium rare was okay but already dry due to leanness). It is certainly on the pricey side, but I felt it was worth it for the setting and the excellent service. Thomas waited on us at dinner."

  • "I had the vegetable chef's tasting, plus crab gnocchi. Dining companion had halibut and lobster bisque. Creme brulee and chocolate torte for dessert. All decent but totally uninspired dishes, except the crab gnocchi was outstanding. Not worth the price; choose carefully."

  • "The food was excellent. However, there could be some simpler choices. Also the servers should tell guests that there can be substitutes. The bread service could include hot rolls or something similar."

  • "Special place to celebrate a special occasion. The menu was varied and the service excellent, We would highly recommend. Dress code of "business casual" is just right to make this a classy environment without being stuffy. We will be back again for dinner. The morning buffet is very complete and a very good value.."

  • "Booked 2 mos. in advance for my husband's birthday and flew up for the week-end. They did not have our table on time - even though 1/3 of the restaurant was empty. First course was fine. Over an hr. later, both entrées (steaks) arrived completely cold. Sent back to the kitchen. Waiter brings them back - obvious they had been put under warmer - now well done as opposed to med. rare and horrible presentation. Husband suffered through his. I sent mine back and skipped the entrée. Terrible service. Same thing happened several tables away. To add insult, the waiter wished us happy anniversary - not happy birthday to my husband. Would truly never go back and would strongly recommend same to anyone else looking for a memorable evening."

The food was spot on and the cocktails were nice as well. For dessert the plate came out with Happy Anniversary written on it. We will definitely be dining here again!"

The staff was very attentive and even gave a beautiful rose to each 'mother' after the meal. Food was excellent, with fine presentation. Would definitely return."

  • "This is the second time we have eaten in the Biltmore Dining room. We took my mom for mother's day and as always it was fabulous. My mom and I had the filet with vidialia onion mashed potatoes and it was wonderful. The steaks were cooked perfectly rare and the potatoes were heavenly. We also had the estate salad with strawberries and brie, so good. My husband had the surf and turf and he said it was perfect. This restaurant is the epitome of perfection. The service is impeccable, you couldn't ask for better service. The ladies and gentlemen that work here have one goal, to make you experience perfect. They succeed. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a perfect dinner in a romantic setting. It is costly but worth every penny."

  • "My wife and I last visited Biltmore Estate 28 years ago (bc - before children.) That visit was in the fall, Thanksgiving week. The return visit, in the spring, was equally lovely. We greatly enjoyed our dinner at The Dining Room. The wait person was knowledgeable and friendly. We were quite happy to be seated in front of the fireplace and enjoyed the ambience. The cuisine was memorable and deliscious. We would happly recommend the Dining Room to friends. We plan to return at the end of the year with our grown children."
