The ambiance was wonderful, especially all decorated for Christmas. Had a table by the fireplace as well. The food was outstanding and the drinks and wine were noteworthy. We enjoyed our waiter. He was very personable as well as knowledgeable. This is a wonderful place for a special occasion, since it is pricey.

Had dinner at Biltmore Inn before taking the Candlelight Tour at Biltmore House. We had almost 2 hours to relax and enjoy the wonderful mountain view, fire in the hearth, and the outstanding servers and food, which worked out perfectly to allow time to get back to the house for the tour. The staff made sure we could enjoy all of our 3 courses without being rushed or waiting too long between courses--they know how to make you feel comfortable and enjoy the delicious food they offer. We had requested a window view of the mountains and our request was honored without our having to say anything. It was dusk and after the mountains were no longer visible, a small fur tree outside the window had been decorated with white lights to enrich the sense of holiday spirit. I hope to return one day to experience the dining room at Biltmore Inn again and recommend it highly to any one who is visiting Biltmore.

  • Biltmore Inn dining room at the Holiday season
    OpenTable Diner Since 2014

Some tables immediately adjacent to windows with expansive views of valley, surrounding hills and good fall colors. Other tables are positioned in front of large central wall gas fired fireplace. You decend into the room from the large stair case (elevators are available). Good presentation of selections that are obviously individually prepared. No heat and serve here. We had several meals at The Dining Room and received consistently attentive and appropriate service from all personnel. Five, seven or eight course menus are available with the only difference being the actual size of the servings are slightly smaller as the number of courses increases. Great for allowing you to experience multiple offerings in one seating without feeling you have over eaten. Selecting from the menu is per your own preferences and we were never left second guessing our choices. Each one is some combination of known favorites ( chicken, beef, fish, etc) prepared in a unique manner and combined with "sides" that are never just vegetables, potato or rice. Package deals are available that include (among other extras) room at the Inn, Biltmore Estate admission, including Candle Light evening tour of Holiday Decorated main house and grounds, buffet breakfast and the evening meal.

We dined here years ago and felt that the food and wine list was very limited. This trip, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the wine list and menu had expanded, and were up to par with the caliber of the hotel. We enjoyed a seven course tasting menu that was devine, and look forward to a return visit!

Planned to have dinner somewhere on the grounds at the Biltmore Estate for our 1 year Anniversary. I was looking for something special and came across this venue quickly enough. It seemed perfect for the occasion. The reservation was a simple and easy process: 1) Go to website. 2) Pick a date. 3) Pick a time. 4) Schedule it. The dinner was just as described on the website and was most excellent. No cutting corners anywhere. A top-notch establishment at the Biltmore. Would go again and will recommend to friends and family, should they visit!

The atmosphere is wonderful, service excellent and the food very good but not excellent. Some may think the menu is fabulous because it is unique. I personally thought they tried so hard to be unique that they ended up limiting the choices. The way they present the courses makes it a little confusing (and this was not my first time at the Rodeo) But I have to say, I had the short ribs and they were fantastic! The waiter was more than happy to let me exchange items from other entrees to make my meal the way I wanted it. The presentation was beautiful. They have a winery on site so they are pushing the Biltmore label. The wine is very good but not great. I would recommend this restaurant. It is a delightful experience not to be missed.

The spectacular setting of this hotel restaurant on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate sets you up for high expectations which were met. Our server, Karen, provided excellent advice and service and the meal was amazing. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu. The portions were supposed to be down sized so that you could enjoy 5 courses. The portions were actually large and dessert seemed to be full sized. I think the best dishes between the 9 different ones my husband and I tried were the outstanding Brussel Sprout appetizer and the main dish Duck Breast. Worth the money and the trip.

When you can toast your anniversary with a sparkling wine called "Pas de Deux" you know the restaurant has joined you in the right frame of mind! Gracious, warm service, lovely extra touches (amuse bouche soup was superb) and a heavenly dessert that combined chocolate and orange flavors (one of my favorite combinations) made it a perfect celebration dinner. Everything was just as we had envisioned for a romantic 40th wedding anniversary dinner - a scenic view, wonderful meal, great service....EXCEPT we were seated in a lonely narrow corridor away from the main dining room. We felt isolated as if we banished from everyone else. We had an early reservation so there were plenty of available seats in the main dining room without having to be banished to the isolated corridor. Unfortunately all we will remember when looking back at the experience is the lonely feeling we had. Ambiance and atmosphere are primary to us--Biltmore failed us there.

Our experience at The Dining Room was excellent. The server, along with her assistants, was very good. The menu changes with the seasons and local produce is utilized when possible. Each dish we had was excellently prepared and pleasing presented. The wine was also very good. They even took the time to write "Happy Birthday" on the dessert plate and add a candle. The little extra was appreciated. We will definitely return. Not cheap but excellent food and service make it worth the expense.

Dined at The Biltmore on 10/9 for my Birthday and had a very special experience. You feel special from the moment you step into the dining room until you are taking your last sip of tea. The service was impeccable, the room lovely, the scenery unquestionably the best and the food very good. I was a little disappointed I couldn't get a glass of the wine I wanted (Biltmore wine) with their stores so close and the appetizer and sides with entree were a bit pretentious but it didn't diminish from the evening. The duck I had was cooked to perfection and they made my birthday special with my dessert. Just lovely all around.

Best meal we have had in years and we do go to the best-rated places we can find. We both had fish cooked to perfection with delightful sauces that complemented rather than overpowered the fish (as so often happens). The desserts are simply to die for. The service personnel were polite and friendly and meticulous in detail. Please note if you are looking for a quick meal -- go elsewhere. If you want an elegant relaxing dining experience, this is it. We left the dining room exactly two hours after we had entered it. The dining room overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains so make your dinner reservation early enough to enjoy the wonderful view.

We loved the ambiance, level of sound, and outside views. The fireplace was enchanting. The food choices were good offering many out of the ordinary starters and side dishes. I prefer more traditional offerings. I had the filet which I found to be over-cooked. I did ask for it medium well. I would order the sea bass next time. The vegetables were extraordinary and tssty. Everyone loved their desserts.

It was our distinct pleasure to stay at the Inn where we had dinner one evening. The Dining Room has a stunning view of the mountains which were so coveted by Mr. Vanderbilt. The DR itself enhances the view with a roaring fire in the enormous fireplace, beautiful table linens, and perfect service. There are a few levels of dinner courses and we chose the 3 course meal. For starters I had the Brussell sprouts with egg which perfectly melded the flavors. My husband the Food Warrior had the charcuterie which was excellent. Our entrees were the beef filet and the sea bass. Both were cooked perfectly and played up by delicious veges. For dessert, the soufflé was the big hit; the chocolate orange mélange not so much. Celebrate and go.
