"The tomato soup was good and I liked the choice of small plates vs the full entree serving. I had sea bass which I liked but other dishes by guests were not so well received: the Mac n Cheese and the fried chicken sounded like disappointments."

"This turned out to be a real bummer. We get to the restaurant, and it is the bar. The chairs are bar chairs, low semi circle chairs with low backs, uncomfortable to sit in. The food was OK, the fried chicken was a chicken breast patty, with a little spice to it, but no crunch, The mac and cheese was overly spiced. You don't need to put anything other then cheese in or on mac and cheese. I still don't know what was on it. But later in the evening, the party crowd starts showing up and they walk through the restaurant to get to the bar, so there's hot girl-hot guy yipping and yelling going on. This is OK to eat at before going upstairs to the main party, but not a real restaurant."

"We were seated promptly at my reserved table, and the busboy immediately asked us for whether we would like water. So far so good. For the next 25 minutes, we sat at the table without a single person acknowledging us, despite the fact that the restaurant was NOT busy. Wait staff passed us by multiple times, and simple pretended that we did not exist. After the 25 minutes had transpired, we got up and left because we were clearly not a priority or concern for them.

As a side note, I was once a waiter for an establishment very similar to this restaurant. I understand that waiters sometimes get distracted when there is a flurry of activity. But this was simply not the case, and it was unfortunate to receive such poor service."

"The restaurant is definitely situated at the greatest location in Santa Monica and it is only minutes away from our home. No doubt The Dining could be on our list for early cocktail spot ambious before the dinner elsewhere. We visited the restaurant at the dinner time."
