Diner Reviews
  • "This is my the very first review and we had the best Seattle Restaurant week dining ever. Salmon dish was amazing, lambwas tender, and wine selections are huge. Did not really ecpect since it was last minute dinner choice, was gonna just enjoy the view and chill; the food was just perfect. The overall price for food and wine is pretty high and it is fancy, but ambience and the staffs are nice and make people cozy. I would def come back and try their regular menu. Chef did a great job! One thing, we wished the chairs were mpre comfy bc we stayed there for about couple hours and both of ours back got uncomfy. Overall, the best restaurant week experience ever :)) "

  • "We went there for Restaurant Week. I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. My son had the lamb shank and my wife had the risotto. We enjoyed every dish from the appetizers to the deserts. Overall it was a fantastic meal. I would recommend it and go back."

  • "We dined here as part of the Seattle Restaurant Week. The food was very good, and the $28 Restaurant Week Prix Fixe menu was a fantastic value. The regular menu items looked very good also, but priced accordingly - and also reflecting the location and views. We'll be back, but comparable downtown restaurants seem a better value if judged on the food alone."

  • "I received a gift certificate for my birthday and took my son and daughter to Sunday brunch. We'd been to the falls before but had never dined at the Salish Lodge. We couldn't have been more delighted! Our server Lisa, was wonderful - from the tableside hot chocolate service through a delicious meal - she was gracious and made our first time there so memorable. We will definitely be back - this was such a treat and on a beautiful day as well!"

  • "What a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and service was top notch. Michael was our server and he made our date special. We were seated in a small alcove that overlooked the falls and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We would definitely come back. We hadn't eaten here in years and it brought back many meomories."

  • "Had plans for a nice anniversary dinner, service was wonderful and the food was amazing. Very reasonably priced, and an extensive wine list."

  • "We went to The Dining Room during the Seattle Restaurant Week. They menu was amazing. My husband and I both got the lamb. It was cooked perfect, great flavor. 3 course meal, plenty food, we left very full :) Every dish was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant. This was a second time there and we will be coming back for many years."

  • "Beautiful presentation of food. The braised lamb shanks that I ordered were so flavorful, as was the accompnying polenta and carrots. A wonderful place to go for a special day or just a treat."

  • "Wonderful restaurant with great brunch options. You sit right on top of Snoqualmie Falls. The view is spectacular. The wait staff was a little slow and you'll want to be sure to request a table away from the back. We sat next to the kitchen and heard a lot of back of house shenanigans and "order up!" every few minutes."

  • "The Salish Lodge isn't inexpensive: Food and wine are very good...and priced accordingly. We made reservations through Open Table and were seated at a window table for two overlooking Snoqualmie Falls. We had the salmon and the duck. Both were wonderful. Service was attentive and prompt. This was a special occasion (my wife's birthday...one of the big ones...although we didn't tell them that). We had been to Salish before and were expecting the quality (and the prices). We weren't disappointed."

  • "Great spot for a quiet romantic meal. A bit of a drive from Seattle, but if you don't mind the travel, it may be worth it. The omelette was great, but the french toast was just average."

  • "Very attentive wait staff from the beginning. We were fortunate to get a table along the windows so we had a view of the falls. We were adventurous and tried the steak tartare which was prepared right at our table. It was delicious. Good portion sizes for the entrees. Very long wine list too. Will definitely go back for a special occasion."

  • "The Salish Lodge Dinning Room is a great romantic and scenic place to dine. Foodies will enjoy the experimentation of the chef who travels off the beaten path with Pacific Northwest ingredients. The desert menu is original but lacked a signature dish which was the only drawback."

  • "We had made reservations asking for a window seat as we had guests in town from Denver and had stayed over at the Salish lodge and had told them about the incredible 4 course breakfast with "honey service". We were put into a corner with our backs up against the brick fireplace and when asked if we could move to the window told we had to request it at reservation time. And if we wanted to move we had to go back to the lobby and wait an hour (even though 2 tables were open by the window). The honey service wasn't performed at all - very disappointing experience."

  • "For an expensive breakfast. Great service. Good food. Leisurely meal. Can't sit by the windows if you have a large group. We had 6. Also wasnt expecting gratuity at 20% to be included for our "large" party."

  • "I made reservations for brunch to celebrate my daughter's 17th birthday. I requested a window seat online. We were pleasantly surprised when they brought us to our own private dining room with a door to a terrace that looked over the falls. The Lavender Brioche French Toast really did have a hint of Lavender taste to it. The Smoked Washington Salmon Skillet was incredible. All in all it was a memorable experience that left me wanting to return."

  • "I'm glad I made reservations by email the day before. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and I mentioned this in the email. We were surprised to get a window table just above the falls, and that at the end of the meal, they brought him a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate with a little piece of cake and a candle. I think we got the best waitress, She was quiet but beaming. Very kind, and very quick to bring anything we requested. This was a bright sunny day and the area was so full of sightseers. Thank goodness we had our reservation for 1 pm."

  • "I used to absolutely love going to the Salish Lodge for Country Breakfast. And the service used to be impecable! Our waitress had a black apron on that had stains on it. She barely said hello. Took a little while to get coffee. The fruit plate is small bits of fruit, different than last time. The wing dining room is drafty and not as quaint. The best part were the friendly valet's. :) May be awhile till I go again, and that is saying allot for me. :("

  • "The staff was excellent! We had out of town guests & had requested a table with a view of the falls, if possible since our reservation request was rather late. We had a great table. The maitre d', whose name I unfortunately forget, was excellent in providing interaction. Turned out he had a connection with the state our guests were visiting from, which they enjoyed discussing. Our server was Ricardo. He was also excellent & had a good sense of humor. Couldn't have asked for more."

  • "I made a reservation three weeks in advance and requested a window table. This was a special occasion anniversary. When we arrived there was no window table. We were seated by the fireplace. I was facing an exterior door with windows. It was so bright coming in the windows that I could barely see my wife sitting across the table. This was not a pleasant experience and we were very disappointed that our request was not honored by this supposedly upscale restaurant."

  • "We always go to the Salish for special occasions. This was for 2 birthdays. Made reservations more than a month in advance, asked for a window table. When we arrived (on time) we waited for a while; parties arriving after us were seated (2 parties of two, both at window tables for 4). I asked the host if we had window table and he said "No". We got seated at corner table (with food left under it). Just after we were seated a window table came open and we asked the server if we could move and she said "Oh no". Coffee was lukewarm. Food so-so. Service poor. Noisy table with kids running around next to us. A VERY expensive meal for a disappointing experience. I guess the $ from guests of the hotel are better than the $ from general public."

  • "My wife and I went there for our 1 year anniversary dinner. They made us feel very special and welcome guests of the restaurant. The service, the food, and the atmosphere with a real wood burning fireplace to eat besides were all excellent and worth the price. We are both looking forward to the next time that we can go back and enjoy another romantic meal in their Dinning room."

  • "We heard that the Salish lodge was famous for their country breakfast. At $68 for two it is a bit overpriced but acceptable. No spit of champaign or any rose for the lady, so I did not rate this as a 5 star brunch. The food was regular breakfast fare - just lots of it. Our easy over eggs had crisp browned edges and the meats were nothing special. The view was excellent and might take your mind off the food. I did like the Devonshire cream served with a small dish of fruit. I'll probably go back some time but will order their other entrees. This is a very busy room as it is right next to Snoqualmie Falls so don't expect relaxed dining, The staff are rushing around. The feel is more of a nice downtown diner transplanted to the falls."

  • "We had a great experience, late breakfast with the best Eggs Benedict over Dungeness Crab. The view from our private table was nothing short of spectacular and our server was very attentive and brought us a nice little dessert on the house for our being there on our 30th anniversary. Thanks and we will be back."

  • "With all the rain and snow melt we have had, the Snoqualmie River was almost at flood stage the falls were magnificent. We had a table overlooking the falls so our dining experience was wonderful. The service and wine were outstanding. Food was a bit in the CA cuisine but it was OK. You did not come out stuffed, but you were satisfied. The restaurant is a little pricey $$$$ but for a special occasion it is great."

  • "Salish has been good for over 20 years when I first visited!"

  • "If you don't know already, the Salish lodge offers a world-class breakfast. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My wife had the eggs benedict, while I enjoyed the "classic" eggs, hash, and biscuit. Everything is from local sources, making it very fresh and flavorful. Even the coffee was wonderful. The service was good. The waitress ensured we were taken care of, and that everything was cooked to perfection. However we did feel a bit rushed. I expect fast service at a diner or Denny's, but here, it's a relaxed, almost romantic environment. Super fast service isn't necessarily a plus in this case. By contrast, we had dinner there the night before, and had some of the best service we've ever encountered anywhere."

  • "We tried the Salish Lodge Dining Room out for breakfast as it is a very scenic spot to bring my parents to when they visit from Australia later this year. Upon arrival, the valet staff were fantastic and very efficient. Our server/waitress was lovely and the food was great. The only points I feel should be made are that the staff members greeting you at the Dining Room to confirm booking etc were very unfriendly, almost bordering on stuck up I would say which was a little disappointing. My other suggestion for improvement - use loose leaf tea not a tea bag! If you are going to serve English Breakfast Tea in a nice teapot with a proper breakfast cup, please use actual tea leaves - even the most basic cafes in Australia would do that!"

  • "The food is always good, if a bit safe. Service is attentive. The view is wonderful (worth dining before dark!) and the restaurant is gorgeous. Nice place for a special celebration. Twice now we've gone in having picked possible bottles from the online wine list, only to find our choices weren't on the list in the restaurant. It would be nice if the online wine list were kept more up to date."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised by the food and service at the dining room at Salish Lodge & Spa. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the 'palette cleanser' a nice touch. Based on their meal prices, I wouldn't recommend it for a family watching their budget, but as a special occasion dinner, the food and and service resulted in a great dinner. Despite the good food & service, the prices just seem too high and they seem to be taking the idea of monetizing their 'captive audience' a little too far."

  • "My wife and I opted for an Anniversary breakfast this year rather than dinner. Had reservations for 8am. We were promptly seated by the windows where we could enjoy the crackling real wood fire, as the Snoqualmie falls just outside had rainbows forming from the mist as the sun rose over the Cascades. Could not have been more perfect!"

  • "I recall my last brunch with out of town guests - how the waitress having to make hot chocolates at many tables interfered with service at ours. One thing we ordered never came; one order was incorrect and that guest ended up eating hers after all others pretty much finished. This time we had the same waitress. When she approached our table first, two of us thought that we were in for mediocre service! Fortunately for us not so; she was TOTALLY marvelous...also was NOT busy with hot chocolates. We even thought the food tasted better this time; however I do not think that true - we were just more comfortable and happy with the service. Thanks so much for being here!"

  • "We had dined at the Salish Lodge Dining Room before and had an excellent time, a great view, and fantastic food, so we decided to go again for our three year anniversary. At time of reservation, we had requested a window table - being seated by the window not only offered a little more privacy, but definitely better ambiance. Upon arrival, we not only had to wait an extra 10 minutes for our table despite being on time for our reservation, but also were seated in a non-window table. I understand not every accommodation can be made, but they should have let us know. The food was still great, but our waitress wasn't particularly warm or anything. Next time I would call ahead to make sure any requests were taken care of."
