Diner Reviews
  • "I love the atmosphere. It was great to have a specialty cocktail (bloody mary and champagne) to start the meal and relax with friends. The shrimp and oysters were the best with tasty sauces to compliment them. They served hot foods upon request so that it's fresh as opposed to sitting under heat lamps. It is a little pricy but well worth it."

  • "We were so glad we decided to make this trip to Little Palm Island for lunch. The Island is beautiful and everyone was so friendly. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. I would save this trip for a special occasion since it was pricey, but so worth it!!!"

  • "This was quite possibly the best meal I have ever eaten in the nicest setting. We will never forget the evening. The ferry boat ride, the setting and the food all combined for a magical effect. Every morsel was manna. Truly magnificent evening."

  • "The food was definitely not what we experienced 2 years ago. Our party of 4 had the 5-course tasting menu and of the 20 dishes combined, the dessert which was common for all ranked highest. Comments ranged from bland to just OK to really nice. The top food item was an octopus appetizer which was zesty, tender and inventive. Add in the somber whispery ambience and it's more a place for the grandparents who don't have much to sayyid each other after all these years or newlyweds whispering sweet nothings. If you're a party of four or six that is having a lively discussion you will feel the entire restaurant is listening in. Add in the very high prices and I'll skip next time for the plethora of great restaurants in KW."

  • "This is just an absolutely beautiful, wonderful place. Watching the sunset over the water, enjoying the key deer as they try to scrounge food from the diners, sitting near the fire on the beach with a tropical drink in hand, feeling the breeze as you're boating in both directions (if you're a local, not staying at the resort), feeding on most excellent food and wine as you're spoiled by the extremely attentive waitstaff. Nothing missing that I can think of . . . . ."

  • "The Little Palm was recommended by a friend. Really nice venue. Loved the boat excursion from Little Torch Key. Food was excellent though pricey but overall worth it for the ambience, secluded location, and beautiful memories."

  • "Met by a wonderful hostess (Amanda) as soon as we stepped off "The Truman," we had the opportunity to relax in comfortable chairs only 6 feet from the ocean and enjoy cocktails with the water gently lapping on the island shore. We chose to have dinner on the veranda and were wonderfully cared for by our server, Patrick, He was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and the appetizer and dinner selections and help us choose an exquisite dinner we are likely never to forget; the chef signature dinner for two, With God's perfect and scenic artistry, and Patrick's perfect service, it was an unhurried, exquisite and romantic dinner where we could savor every moment desired. Thank You Little Palm Island!"

  • "We have been to Little Palm three times before and had great experiences. I had requested a table on the water as we had always had and called that day to confirm. When we arrived the hostess was going to seat us away from the water but i told her we had confirmed a water front table - she responded those were reserved for their "Island guests". The tables were were almost all vacant throughout our dinner as we sat away from the water front tables - it was very disappointing and distracting throughout the night. There were pesky bugs that have left me, my daughter and my sister with ichy bites since our visit. Our waiter tried to assist by providing us with insect repellent, however it was not effective. My fish was dry and tasteless."

  • "Excellent high end restaurant. European size portions. If your a tasting menu or 4 star lover go. If you want a steak that hangs off your plate don't. 125 per person plus wine. Worth the price."

  • "One of the best locations in the world, great experience from the launch to the island, the food and ambience, food was excellent as was the service."

  • "...this place is dreamlike -almost magical. Picture this: taking an "antique" wooden boat 20 minutes as the sun set to a tropical isle with elegant tables set on the shore. The fare was fine but not scintillating (and at $50+ per entree surprisingly spare), and the service - eh - hostess greeted our boat to tell us to wait on the dock for twenty or so minutes while they cleared the beach of a wedding... a complimentary cocktail for the inconvenience would have been a nice gesture. (Wait was actually notably longer.) My husband and I both found the setting wonderfully romantic, but sadly found it to be a destination, but not a destination restaurant."

  • "We are still talking about this experience. It's not often you get the quality of food to match the ambience and have the two meld so nicely."

  • "We missed our boat reservation due to crazy traffic on the Keys. LPI was flexible and able to accommodate us on the next boat to the island. So happy they could do that :). From the mainland we took a water shuttle to the island. Its about a 10 min ride. We were met at the entrance and seated on the outdoor deck for lunch. Perfect spot overlooking the water. Lunch was simple, cooked perfectly and nicely presented. Save room for the dessert. Amazing Key Lime pie!"

  • "My family went to little palm island for a nice night out. We all decided to order the chef's 5 course dinner. I chose Pork Belly, lobster, lamb tenderloin and scallop. The pork belly is to die for! It was perfectly seasoned and just melted as you ate it. The scallop and lobster were OK but I felt the lobster lacked flavor. It's accompanied with corn and that's all I tasted and it was a bit over cooked. The lamb was very tasty and well seasoned. One of my daughter's had the Duck which she could not get enough of and my other daughter and husband had grouper and that was perfectly cooked. Non of us liked the desserts. Over all we had a lovely time and the staff is Fantastic. But for $520.00 for 4 of us I expected to be blown away."

  • "Beautiful location and decent food selection but for a couple that aren't necessarily big eaters, $220 for a brunch is high. That being said, it's worth checking out at least once."

  • "Thanks to the crew at the Dining Room at Little Palm Island. They really took care of us at our anniversary dinner from the moment we walked off the dock. Top notch, well executed food - and it does its best to keep pace with the beauty and exclusivity of the beach and the private island. Thanks!"

  • "Had dinner at Little Palm Island to celebrate a special birthday. The prices are a little bit too high for what you get. My husband and I split a salad each had and entre and 3 drinks. Our bill was $300. We expected it though as others we know have been there. You can't beat the ambience and service. Very nice place for a special occasion. Just watch out for the deer."

  • "It wasn't easy to get here from Key West, but it was so worth the effort. If you ever have the chance to visit Little Palm Island during your stay, it is one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you should have. I will say that it is probably the most I have ever spent for lunch, but again, it was worth it for the experience of dining on this lovely little island. You must have a reservation and be sure to think ahead about getting to and from Little Torch Key if you are staying in Key West. We rented a car (after some effort) upon learning that a taxi ride would have been quite costly. Fantastic ambiance and beautiful surroundings. Staff are absolutely 5-star and you will feel like royalty throughout the entire visit."

  • "This is a lovely space at a beautiful island resort reached by a 15 minute boat ride off of Little Torch Key. They have an imaginative lunch menu and great food, service and of course, the views."

  • "This was such a special place. We sat on the beach and had a romantic dinner celebrating our anniversary! The food was excellent, the staff was always right on target. The boat ride over was fun! We can't wait to go back and stay for a weekend!"

  • "This is a fantastic location with really good food. We sat on the deck which was great. All of the staff from the moment you get on the boat till the time you leave were great. Only negative, and it is relatively minor--if you have a dress code you need to enforce it. The table beside us took away some of the ambiance when dressed in tee shirts and flip flops."

  • "From the boat ride over, to the excellent fare, to the royal-like service, to the deer walking beside our table on the beach, one of the best dining experiences we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Highly recommended."

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it could not have been better. Everyone went out of their way to deliver an exceptional level of personal care and attention. The facility and location are spectacular and a suitable setting for the exceptional service and superb food. This was truly a special occasion and one that we enjoyed immensely. We both had the arugula salad which was incredibly fresh. My wife had lobster while I had steak. Both entrees were spectacular and the accompaniments were fantastic. For dessert we shared the crime brûlée rice pudding with apple empanadas which tasted even better than it sounds, and it sounds great. They offer a super choice of wines by the glass as well as a great wine list."

  • "We heard about LPI on our honeymoon in 2009 to Key West. Fast forward 3 years and it was still on our minds, so we made a point to stop and kick off another Key West trip off the right way by stopping for dinner at LPI. Start with a "taxi" boat ride over to the Island. It's not your typical shuttle-very intimate and the captain was ready and willing to answer any questions about the area or resort itself. You are greeted at the dock on the island and the restaurant is right as you walk up. Plenty of options to eat either inside or on a romantic table for 2 right on the beach-which is what we opted for. Dinner was exactly what you hope it will be - perfect portions (maybe a little big), perfectly timed, and served quickly. Don't miss this."

  • "This should be on everyone's bucket list. From the time you arrive at the dock, through the boat trip out, thr greeting, food and service were all impressive. The breezy verandah was very relaxing, made the heat seem nonexistent. The entire staff was very cordial, the food definitely fit for a foodie. Pricey? Yes, but compared to other prices in the Keys, not way out of place, especially for what you receive. Thank you everyone at Little Palm"

  • "Our visits to Little Palm are always extraordinary! The food is always perfection and the service is always attentive & friendly. This should be at the top of everyone's "must try" dining list! Oh, and did I mention the view?"

  • "Great place for a special occasion, We were there 11 years ago and it is still great today, We sat on the beach and watched a beautifull sunset along with good wine and food, we will try to be back more often."

  • "We ate both lunch and dinner at the restaurant. We skipped breakfast because of our preceding disappointments. Lunch cost more than $100 for my wife and I for very plain grilled chicken breast sandwiches and fruit although her wine was good. For dinner, we spent more than $200 for my very small lobster risotto, which was ok, but nothing special, and her veal florentine, which was huge but just ok. We also sent our lobster bisque back because it had no resemblance to what we had expected and had not even one lump of lobster. We have had much better for far less money, including The Green Turtle Inn on our way home."

  • "We knew it probably is the best restaurant in Florida...and we had the "chef suggestion for 2" meal...the filet mignon was to die for, and the lobster tail perfectly cooked; the "foie gras" was just right, but the fried potatoes were just a tad too spicy... Considering the service and the atmosphere, it's well worth the shuttle trip."

  • "One of the most beautiful places to go, not only to dine but to stay as well. The food was incredible and the service outstanding. I can't wait to return."
    Dined on 1/28/2012
  • "After reading about this place's lofty reviews, I guess I expected too much. The place is beautiful and the setting couldn't be any better, but the food was up and down. The salads were fine, but a third of the mussels were off tasting. The veal chop was wonderful, but the short ribs were bland and overcooked. The molten chocolate cake was also overcooked. The service was not all that attentive, but they were cordial. Zagat said this is the 3rd best hotel restaurant in the US. I can name 5 in South Florida alone that are better than this. It's nice to say "been there, done that" but I am not planning a return any time soon."

  • "The Little Palm Island dining room experience was a one of a kind -- candlelit tables on the beach, excellent food, and the sunset were all perfect. We were staying on the island for several days, but dinner guests can take the 20 minute boat ride from US1 to the island and enjoy a wonderful dinner. The lounge, entertainment and a firepit with seating on the beach complete the atmosphere."
