We have been there for dinner several times but never to lunch. We went with a group of friends. The noise level was very high, the ambiance non existent, but the big problem was the waitress. She never asked anyone for drink orders and when someone asked about drinks, she only came with a drink for that person. Never asked anyone for coffee/tea order. Basically not available and not informed about food options. The food was quite good but not in the same catagory as dinner there. We would never return for lunch.

Our party of 10 had a most enjoyable evening. The food selection list was very good and presented nicely. Our server, Myra, performed professionally---she was most courteous, polite and delivered the dinners right on time. We will return on a quartrely basis.

We were 5 for lunch. We all filled out a review card then. But now that you ask again, I'll tell you that several of us were disappointed and probably expected more than we should from the Artichoke Grill. My soup & meal was not hot ... just warm and so it cooled off quickly. Another of my friends said her French fries were cold & I think she mentioned it to our server. The friend who ordered the fish was not happy with it but that was probably just a bad choice on her part. I had to ask twice for coffee & maybe it is just 1 cup per guest because a 2nd was not offered. But in all, we did enjoy the experience & most of my group had never been to the culinary school & all were excited & anxious to go. They should review too.

As first timers to this facility the four of us had varying opinions. Not necessarily bad just different. The potato leek was fine but the tortilla was not a hit. The salads were fine and the entrees were the hit of the night. The desserts ended the evening as it began. With that said you must remember that this people are beginning their careers and will improve with time. We are committed to try again with a different menu choose.

The Restaurant was very cold inside, Ambiance was out dated. We had reservation for 5 on Thursday night, received a call on Tuesday that our reservation had to be cancelled, they were having a meeting. I had made this reservations 10 days ahead. We were rescheduled for Friday, and would be discounted, when presented with the bill, had to ask for the discount. The food was not worth the drive to the farm. Each one of the entree's had something wrong with them 1.salty-2.tough-3. had to spit out. Dessert not warm, coffee was not hot. The lady in the front end was not friendly. Large restaurant, 7 tables had guest. Would I go back, NO. Would I go back, NO. w

We've been coming to SCC for more than 10 years. This menu is the best yet--our party of 3 managed to try each appetizer, soup and salad-all excellent. The tenderloin was fork tender. And as anticipated, they saved the best for dessert.

Recently we had occasion for a special celebration and we promptly elected to reserve for dinner at the Scottsdale Community College's Culinary Arts Desert Oasis. The five course meal was delectable and delightful in every way. The offerings are elegantly prepared and sumptuous to enjoy. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone who prizes culinary art at its very best. If you do, you are in for a real treat.

We go to The Desert Oasis restaurant, part of the culinary art school at Scottsdale Community College, once a year with the same group of friends. The dinner price includes a 5 course dinner, with choice of 4 entrees. The menu items are more "upscale" than our usual restaurants, so we get to try new dishes in a casual atmosphere. You get to "grade" the food and servers, which makes it even more fun. Also, the deserts are the best! It typically take 1.5 hrs for dinner, so make sure you have the time.

After being recommended to this hidden gem. We try visit whenever we visit our vacation property in Scottsdale from Canada . This time around we tried the lunch menu with our daughter and her fiancé , the food is just as good as the evening meal and would rival many top restaurants in the area ( except price) expect to pay at least half what you would pay for similar food elsewhere. The students obviously spend a lot of time and effort with the preparation and a lot of pride in the final result. See you at the end of April.

We are regular customers here and dine here several times each year. The menus this year are not as interesting as they usually are but the food quality is usually good. But this visit it was extremely mediocre.the waiter wasn't good , the desserts and breads were not interesting, The beef Wellington was good but the rest of the meal was not. Of course the are student cooks and waiters. I hope this batch of students improve or change careers.

The beet salad was tasteless, the chef and the supervising instructor said they didn't bother to taste it. The veal marsala was over floured and under cooked which gave it a gummy feel and no marsala taste. The beignets for desert were cold when they are supposed to be hot and the sauces were flavorless. Service was very slow. Dinner to 3 and 1/4 hours, should have been 2 hours. No liquor license, they say because it is on the reservation but other businesses on the reservation serve liquor. Every tray that left the kitchen went through an artificial tree at the kitchen door and the leaves brushed through the food, not very sanitary and not a great way to teach chefs. Find a better place to go for dinner.
