The Del-BarANNIVERSARY DINNERMy husband and I went there for dinner for our 4th anniversary. I had the petit filet and he had the pork chops. The filet was done to perfection and I wished I had ordered the regular size one because I wanted more. My husband wasn't crazy about the chops as they were a bit overdone. The waitress was wonderful and very attentive. I also ordered the chocolate torte for desert and it was the perfect ending to our meal. It was not overly sweet and was delicious. The total was around $80 (we had no bar tab as we don't drink.) This past Friday I went with my adult daughter and it was fabulous as always. The tables were full, we were seated immediately as we arrived at our appointed time, and yet it seemed like we were the only ones present. Yes, the hostess and the waitstaff were always occupied and cheery, and the diners were quietly eating, taking their mothers out for her day. My mom enjoyed it, and the hostess even complimented my mom on her corsage. That made her evening! And the food was just as great as ever. They make a good brandy old fashion sweet. Service was great. But then we've never had bad service. Mark had the flat iron steak which thought was very good. I had the friday night fish fry. The fish was ok. It was nice to have healthier sides like a salad and a baked potato. Most fish fries have french fries and coleslaw. They have a baked fish option but I'm not a fan of those. The service (Laurie) was excellant, the food was excellent and to top it off we were surprised, that upon receiveing our dessert, our waitress said it was on the house becuase our steaks took longer than anticipated. We live in the Madison area, so it is a bit of a drive, but well worth it. We recently ate there on my birthday and had an excellent meal. The scallops were outstanding - a special that evening. The management and staff have created a warm, comfortable dining environment that makes us want to return year after year. We had a fantastic 4 course dinner "special" with the grilled Norwegian salmon and their low price. We were treated like royalty. My guy, from out of the area and who recently returned from Finland, said the salmon was better than anything served on his worldly travels. The service showed attention paid to every detail, including the results of the wait staff taste testing the beers to be able to give us a recommendation; our waitress was right on that choice! We were seated in the main dining area as we were told the garden room had children dining that evening. I live in the 5th largest city in America (Western US) and travel all over the country for work. Although going to the Dells in Feb / March is not ideal, the Del Bar makes my trip much more enjoyable.
