  • "Old school supper club, nicely designed interior, friendly efficient service, decent food, dark and romantic atmosphere, expensive for the Dells area, but they have good classic dishes and good service, which is sometimes difficult during the peak season. I'd go there if I want fresh seafood or steak."

  • "The Del Bar is always very consistent - excellent food and attentive but not hovering service. I had the pan fried walleye with a spinach salad and butternut squash, and my wife had the flat iron steak special. Everything was cooked perfectly. We had a very nice evening."

  • "The food was delicious and we'll presented, the drinks were just the same, our waiter was very nice and provided the service I would expect from a restruarant that presents it's self as a fine diner but the hostess and the women who seat you were the least bit polite I was judged from the time I walked in the front door. Though I wasn't dressed in my Sunday finest by all means I also wasn't wearing ripped clothes with stains, my whole group felt unwelcome at this restruarant it's as if we were unfit for your restruarant, and for my future advice to anyone at to the dells looking for a nice place to eat I would recommend the mcdonalds down the street"

  • "the Del-Bar (formerly called Jimmy's Del-Bar) has long been one of our favorite places. While it is a little pricey, the food and service make up for that. The staff is warm and friendly, treating each guest as a long lost friend."

  • "My husband and I are nearing our 40th wedding anniversary, and have tried to visit this fabulous restaurant nearly every time we traveled to the Dells area since we first dated. While not inexpensive, this place is completely justified in charging what they do. We are from the Chicago area, and have traveled extensively, and this is still one of our favorite restaurants, due to a combination of food, service and most of all....the ambiance. A student of Frank Lloyd Wright did most of the architecture, and the result is a gem. The lighting in particular is highly unique and romantic. I only wish that we could afford to visit as often as we once did, and that they would open something with similar ambiance closer to home!"

  • "We dined here on a Friday night. It's a very pretty place. We had a few drinks at the bar. The bartender made very good old fashions. She was friendly and told us she had worked there 19 years. We went to our table and had a very good meal. I had the petite filet, medium, cooked to,perfection with a bernaise sauce. My husband ordered a bone in ribeye. His too was served perfectly. We also had the sweet potato fries and a nice spinach salad. All vey good. We will definitely return here next time we are in the area."

  • "One thing for certain the DelBar is always a great dining experience waiting to happen. Being this is one of the nicest places in the Dells diners should dress for the occasion to make it an extremely memorable occaison! The cocktails are mixed perfectly. The salad choices are fresh and made to order and the entrees are simply the best. If you like desert they have wonderful choices to end the dining experience in an exceptional way."

  • "We were seated promptly in a nice dining area, but it was Valentines day and they didn't have the fireplace on! I ordered the baked cod, since I am gluten intolerant, but it came topped with a (delicious looking) breading. so I had to send it back and wait 20 minutes for it to be replaced. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if their menu would advise that even though it is baked it has a topping. Once they remembered to turn on the fireplace the rest of the experience was magical."

  • "Homemade salad dressings were excellent. Wife had petite filet, done just perfect. I had the pork schnitzel and you could cut it with a fork it was so tender. Calamari was a great appetizer. Tender with a very light breading. Overall a great night dining!"

  • "The Del Bar is by far one of the classiest restraunts the Dells has to offer. Whether your pallet craves steak or seafood, it will be nothing short of pure bliss. As a local this is one of the only places I will go to celebrate different occasions or stop in for a nightcap."

Anytime I'm out to impress, enjoy Wisconsin's renowned strawberry schaum torte, or sip on the best brandy old fashioneds around, it's Dell Bar hands down."

  • "The Del Bar was GREAT! Food fantastic, staff fantastic. I made my online reservation on 2/14, received a confirmation, when we arrived at the retaurant they did not have our name on the list and told me the open table reservations had been closed for 2 days. Several people had been turned away because they did not have reservations but the staff was very accomdating and managed to find a table for my husband and me."

  • "My wife and I had dinner here on Valentines day. We were in an end room that was scenic however quite cold. There was a fireplace in there but it was not on nene though it was about 5 degrees out. We weren't chilly throughout the entire meal. We both had the fish, she got the broiled which was delicious. I had the fried, the batter was a bit heavy. Would like to see a bit lighter batter. Great ambiance!"

  • "The food was wonderful but the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter did not know the menu when questions were asked, brought the wrong food and was not very attentive. For the price of the menu. the staff should be more knowledgable, and make your dining experience more enjoyable."

  • "There were many tempting things on the menu but since it was Friday night and we were in Wisconsin, we had to go for the fish fry. Excellent cod, both baked and fried, as well as nice salads. Reasonable price and great service."

  • "We had another wonderful experience at the Del Bar. It was my daughter's golden birthday and they had a party hat and a non-alcoholic strawberry dacquiri waiting at the table for her when we sat down. They were extra attentive to her and it was so sweet! We also had a wonderful meal... petite filet, seared scallops, cod, chicken cordon bleu... all were delicious. Oh, and if you are looking for a fun cocktail their French Martini is delicious. We'll be back. That's for sure!"

  • "We stayed in the Dells for one night to celebrate my wife's birthday. So I looked for a nicer restaurant with strong reviews. The Del-Bar did not disappoint. The food was excellent and staff was attentive but not overbearing. The Pan Fried walleye was some of the best I have had. The atmosphere was a little dated but very warm, cozy and well cared for. We will defintely be back."

  • "I'm fortunate to have traveled extensively both in the US and internationally. I have traveled to over 60 countries on 6 of the 7 continents. I have tried but never found a more delicious and tender steak than the steaks at the Del-Bar. They have a very special combination of aged prime steaks, a masterful chef that knows how to prepare them and a consistency in their quality that endures year after year. We make at least two trips a year to the Del-Bar and recommend it to all our friends and family."

  • "The hostess took us to our table and the server came to take our drink order, the whole time the idle servers were whispering and looking at our table. Pretty soon the hostess came and said she had miss sat us and moved us to another table in the back. Found the whole thing very unusual!!! However our server more than made up for the rudeness of the hostess. She was excellent. We believe we were moved because we had our two young grandchildren with us. Again our server was excellent with our grandchildren and made our visit to The Del Bar very enjoyable."

  • "We went here for our New Year's Eve dinner. We really loved the relaxed setting with the fireplaces burning and lights turned on low. The service was outstanding -- she was able to give us details about how the dessert cake was made. The food was delicious, we had the rib eye steak which was cooked exactly the way we ordered it. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Wisconsin Dells area."

  • "Walleye is absolutely delicious. Bone in Rib eye tasty, juicy cooked to perfection. Ambience is beautiful. Service is helpful and friendly. We own a place on Lake Delton and this is our favorite place every time we come to town. Oh, do not forget to save room for the strawberry Scaumtorte!"

  • "Our family of 11 had a great meal at the Del-Bar. We had two kids under 5 with us. The pan fried walleye was excellent. I heard the scallops and lobster tail were, too. We had a 5:15 reservation to take advantage of happy hour discounts. It was still expensive but well worth it as a yearly treat. Even my father (who is critical of "fancy" expensive restaurants) said he'll go back which is saying a lot! The staff was efficient, friendly and attentive even to the point of hearing one of the kids asking mom for extra cherries for their kiddie cocktail."

  • "In honor of our anniversary, my husband and I went out to dinner with our families and 1 year old while on a mini-Wisconsin vacation. It was a tough decision regarding where to go to satisfy the diverse expectations of both sets of parents while also being able to eat in a restaurant willing to serve a potentially loud and messy 1 year old. We considered Fields but the cost was simply too much for an unknown restaurant. We settled on Del-Bar as a good alternative and we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the food even met the high expectations of the foodies with us. They did seat us in a section by ourselves due to our daughter but it is hard to find fault there considering that it allowed us not to worry as much."

  • "In many ways a restaurant out of the '60's, but that's not a slam, it's just a classic dinner house. They have great selections - including fresh oysters on ice - and priced very reasonably, especially the wine. Attentive staff very conscious of the guest experience. Prices on a very nice wine list are quite fair and they don't price gouge. I'll be back on my next visit to the Dells!!"
