The Dead FishAlways happy to find a terrificAlways happy to find a terrific resturant to share with friends.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only problem I had wasThe only problem I had was that I did not eat all my brunch, and asked to have it boxed and take home. The bus boy did not do this and I was not happy.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Crab, Great Service.Attentive server, food arrived within fifteen minutes after our order was placed.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTo be fair, it was Mother'sTo be fair, it was Mother's Day and it was very busy so the service was a little lacking because they were so crazy busy at dinnertime. When she came by she was wonderful, nice, attentive, etc. but it took a long time to get our 2 drinks that we ordered and she never even asked the other 2 at our table if they wanted anything to drink at all. We had to flag her down to order an iced tea for one of them. The food was excellent, though, and we would definitely go back. The sizzling plateof mussels and shrimp, along with a side of perfectly cooked asparagus, was perfect for my meal. My husband had the trout poached in olive oil and it was delicious. The other two at our table really enjoyed their meal as well.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMStarted my Mother's Day offStarted my Mother's Day off great. It was the first time for my son and husband. All of us really enjoyed the food.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA new fish for meI tried the basa, it was tender, juicy, and mild tasting. It may be my new favorite fish! Also the cocktails were great, as was the bread! I will definitely be returning.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will be backGreat view, ambiance and service! We'll be back to try their prime rib and whole crabs.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food/svc & view. Weak drinksWe went on a Saturday night - one day before Mother's Day. With a reservation for 7pm, we had to wait until 7:45pm to get seated, because the restaurant was absolutely packed!! But waiting was a lot of fun because the bar area is great. Lots of tables and bar stools at and around the bar. Every single prepared drink we ordered felt weak due to very large amounts of ice. Mojito didn't have enough sugar. Martini had too much ice. Gin & tonic was weak. Beer ofcourse was great. Once seated, we just loved the outside patio with view of the bridge and delta river. Service was very good - very attentive and prompt. Food was really great - fresh! We had halibut and another fish called Basa. All in all - great restaurant! Will be back!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my FavoritesExcellent food at a reasonable price. Seafood is very good, as well as the prime rib. It melts in your mouth. Great for Special occasions and date nights. Amazing view outside and nice heated cabanas.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood timesI've been here a few times now and just love it.
Great food beautiful view.
Don't miss out if your in the area.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SeafoodI've been to this place a few times and have never been disappointed. The fish stew s excellent!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA winner dinnerFor me a bit of a splurge for the average night, but for wife's birthday our 16 yr-old daughter joined us for their terrific roasted crab. Appetizers included the crab chowder and steamed clams and an extra of my passion, calamari, made it a very delightful celebration. Too full to order dessert, but the b-day tribute brought what seemed as a 2-layer mousse of vanilla and chocolate which made her eyes roll back into her head - a good sign. A "thumbs up" from all.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery niceEverything about the dinner dining experience, our first at this restaurant, was positive.
The view is great. The wait staff was helpful and observant -- the waiter noticed a birthday card and later brought a slice of very tasty cake with candles and sang "Happy Birthday."
The crab enchilada was delicious, as was the salad.
The only negative: Parking was more difficult than we expected.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistantly GoodLove the food and staff. Nice views. No corkage if you like you own wines.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTop of my list for a romanticTop of my list for a romantic dinner overlooking the beautiful waters of the Carquinez Bay and Bridge. The evening was charged with anticipation of wine and wind down time. The delectable clams in garlic flavored broth. We shared a beet salad...were surprised to see the somewhat unusual yellow beets instead of deep red...sweet...full of fresh flavors...great start! Ordered the combo of mussels, crab and shrimp...perfect for two.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredibly popular scenic spotOur go-to neighborhood destination which offers it all..lovely ambiance, great food, wonderful views of the Carquinez bridges, Strait and sunsets, beautifully trained friendly staff, multiple choices of outdoor eating, comfy bar eating at either small intimate round tables, leather booths or the bar, optional viewing of TV sports events, fireside dining in cool weather, seating for large groups in the main dining rooms, very responsive servers and best of all, free unlimited corkage! It was our 60th wedding anniversary and we were treated very special. I loved the candelabra and the dessart. We are already booked for mothers day brunch outdoors. Oh, the photo was a great idea.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Anniversary DinnerThe view is lovely just after the sun goes down. The Crockett Bridge lights up at dusk and reflects off the water. A table outside overlooking the water is a real treat.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMcontinue to love your corkagecontinue to love your corkage policy....keeps us coming back!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommendI couldn't begin to count how many times I've been to the Dead Fish. I love it! I enjoy the cozy atmosphere in the bar area when it is cold outside (fire place) and the view outdoors on a warm day. The outdoor tented tables for romantic evenings aren't bad either. My favorite things to order are the sizzling platers, of mussels, crab & shrimp. Favorite salads are the crab cesar & beet salad. And, a cup of crab chowder is a must to dip your bread into. The service is also great, well timed and friendly.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice very clean the staffVery nice very clean the staff was excellent and the food was great and served in a timely fashion we were unable to eat outdoors this time but looking forward to our next visit.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love this place for theWe love this place for the view, location and the food. The service is always great. My favorite dish is the halibut with garlic lemon caper sauce, box tomatoes, zucchini and olives. You will never be disappointed at this restaurant if your looking for fresh and flavorful seafood!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best seafood placesOne of the best seafood places I've been to hands down. Look out Joe's Crab Shack & Red Lobster. There's a new sherrif in town.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat uniquely prepared freshGreat uniquely prepared fresh fish and other delights. Group of 8 private table amazing view and all kinds of wonderful food.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDead Fish Very Much Alive and WellThis part of California around the Carquinez Bridge isn't necessarily known for its scenic beauty, but this restaurant located right on the water in the tiny town of Crockett offers a spectacular view of the bridge that rivals the Cliff House in San Francisco. My crab crostini, beet salad, and catfish-like white fish--I forgot the name of the fish--prepared with a lemon-caper sauce were amazing. I had a few bites of my wife's prime rib, and that too was delicious. The only item I wasn't overwhelmed by was the crab chowder. Still, all in all it's well worth getting a reservation to come to this place--the wait looked pretty long on a Saturday night. It's a hidden treasure in California.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Dead Fish's claim to fame,The Dead Fish's claim to fame, besides fresh seafood and prime rib, is the fabulous view of the Carquinez Straits. It's worth the price of admission (modest) just to see the bridge and the water. However, you get more: very cridible seafood prepared in a variety of ways. The calamari steak was tender and delicious but I wish it didn't have so much butter on it. The coucous with pea pods was very tasty. I'm told the crab and cheese sandwich on homemade bread was fabulous as was the basa fresh fish. The wait staff was attentive and cheerful. A very good mean and an excellent experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Views, Service and FoodThe service is impeccable! Wesley was our server and he is truly the best server ever. This was our third visit and each time we have had him serve us. The food is incredible as well. Our group had prime rib, lamb and fish and chips as well as the wedge salad. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly every time we go.
We would recommend getting reservations if possible but if not it would be worth the wait.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first experienceThis was our first experience to go on a Saturday night. The place was energetic to say the least. Parking can be an issue when they are that busy. We waited until someone came out and grabbed their spot. The greeters and waitstaff were excellent. I will return but not on a Saturday night. We had a reservation so that wasn't an issue but we got an excellent table by the fireplace.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCrabtastic!Crabtastic! :-) Specializing in crab and other seafood delights, this place lives up to its reputation. Delicious dishes and great service! Would come here again.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOh My!!!! What a Treat to mI celebrated my birthday at The Dead Fish. The Resturant is absolutely fantastic! We had reservations, but arrived a little early and the waitress seated us immediately. We arrived at the right time as we were able to be seated in one of their cabanas. The view and Ambience. What a special treat. Each cabana has a ceiling fan and a heating unit, which the diner can contol. From our cabana we were able to view the bridge and the bay. The day was sunny and the weather was mild. I believe those two factors contributed to the spectucular view. The food was excellent. I had the Roasted Garlic Crab and my husband had Fish and Chips. Magnificent!!!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI asked my boss to a niceI asked my boss to a nice restaurant for seafood.

We also shared a Crab Louie and the crab was fresh and very tasty. I have Fish and Chips and the fish was freshly cooked and Hot when served. My wife had Shrimp and Chips and I think the shrimp could have been a bit larger. Very Good all in all.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTHE VIEWThe patio is the place to sit, great view, heaters work very well. This is not just a restaurant for special occasions.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & service! This was our first time dining at The Dead Fish and they exceeded our expectations. Everyone in our party loved the food and the service was great. We can't wait to go again. I am glad we made reservations though - not sure we would have gotten in otherwise!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDoes not disappointCelebrated my husband's 50th Birthday. A wonderful treat for the special day. We asked for patio seating in one of the private cabanas, when we arrived the restaurant was very busy, but we were seated right away and escorted to a cabana. Service was a tad slow but we were not in hurry. All in all the Dead Fish is still one of our favorite places to dine at.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFor the most part, we hadFor the most part, we had an outstanding experience at Dead Fish. This is a great non-chain restaurant with a stunning view and fits family dining, dates, bar scene, etc. The only confusion was when we first checked in. I initially made reservations and requested near a window for view but when we got to the restaurant apparently they checked another party in under my name (which I couldn't understand because my name is uncommon). When they were going to sit us in a non-scenic part of the restaurant, another hostess catered to our request to at least put us near a window. Waiter was great and attentive and food portions were plentiful and tasty.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA first experience at The Dead FishMy wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at The Dead Fish. It was a wonderful dining experience. They understood it was a special occasion and seated us at the window so we would have a great view of the scenery. The appetizers and dinners we selected were delivered in a well-timed and reasonable manner and quality of the food was very good. The wait staff were very attentive and did not forget about us during the course of our visit, and they seemed to make it a fun experience not only for us but the other customers as well. The atmosphere is great especially with the selection of music emanating from the sound system.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMReally like this place. YummyReally like this place. Yummy food. This visit was different that the cook delivered the food, the bartender delivered the drinks. Awesome view. Worth the effort to get a window. Looking forward to better weather to eat outside.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at the Dead FishThe food at the Dead Fish is wonderful! The service was great too! Even though they were busy, our food came out quickly, hot and fresh. The only thing that was a bit annoying for me were that a few of the bus-boys, when cleaning and setting the tables were loud, clanging the plates etc. as they were setting them. But other than that, everything was spot on.I had the beef short ribs and my husband had the pork shank...both tender and delicious! We tell everybody about the Dead Fish!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to the Dead FishI have been to the Dead Fish several times and have had outstanding food and service. A must for fish lovers.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad Brunch on Easter Sunday.Had Brunch on Easter Sunday. Food and service were excellent.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI made a reservation for 4I made a reservation for 4 but at the last minute it turned out to be 6. It was a busy night but they were gracious enough to accommodate us. We had a lovely table outdoors with a beautiful view. The staff was efficient and very friendly. We've been here several times before and we love to sit in the bar before dining and look at the view. If you're lucky you can get a window seat and use their binoculars that are hanging at each table. Its a little bit of a drive but its worth it. One of our favorite places.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
