  • "A group of us went to The Dandelion for dinner on Easter Sunday. The menu was extensive and the food was fantastic. Get the homemade ricotta if it is on the menu. It was excellent. We had a variety of dishes at the table....rabbit pie, shepard's pie, trout, and a beef cheek vindaloo. All were excellent! As expected in a pub, the beer selection was large, as was the cocktail list. Try the Pimm's Deluxe. Yummy!"

  • "Staff and waiters very personable and menu knowledgeable. English brunch menu, food was very good and a nice change of pace from your usual brunch menu. A busy Easter Sunday Brunch crowd, it was nice not to be rushed. Ambiance very nice. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience very much. A definite recommendation."

  • "this quirky restaurant is one of the best in the neighborhood. each room has it's own character and ambience. Wait staff is efficient yet friendly, but not intrusive. Tables are a bit close,, but that adds to the charm. Very interesting menu; something for everyone. "

  • "Loved the vibe at this restaurant...cozy and very purposefully mismatched, thematic rooms-all typically english pub like. The menu was perfect and just what I expected. The waiter was a bit cool, but everyone else was very friendly and helpful. The beer and food were all great...from the spring asparagus soup to bangers and mash to the fish and chips...all hot and crispy and best chips ever! Loved my curried crab with avocado puree as well. Everyone happy and the place was vibrant, without being too crazy. Go and enjoy!"

  • "Visiting Philadelphia for the first time. Chose Dandelion after seeing it on Food Network "Best Thing I Ever Ate". We really lucked out. The food was outstanding. Perfectly prepared and presented. The burger was one of the best 'Ive ever had. The appetizers all outstanding. The service was excellent. It has an active bar scene but at the same time they were receptive to my 10 year old daughter. The only drawback for me was that it is a bit noisy, but that might just be a personal preference on my part! We will definitley return on our next trip to Philly!"

  • "This is my second time eating at Dandelion and I paid a lot more attention to different details. From the moment we stepped in, to the moment we left the restaurant, each waiter/hostess/manager treated you with great care and attention. It allowed me and my two friends to feel relaxed as we were taken care. We had a lovely booth and I really enjoyed the slightly elevated British pub ambiance. All the dishes were just lovely and exactly how you wanted it. The delicious and hearty chips (french fries), along with the cocktails, rounded out the good meal well. Our waited was friendly, warm and gave helpful recommendations. You felt a little bit like you were being hosted in his home. We couldn't have asked for a better evening! "

  • "The meal we had at The Dandelion was fantastic! Not only was the food delicious, the service was also great. The ambiance is incredible -- I have never seen anything like it before. "

  • "I went to the Dandelion last Sunday night to celebrate my birthday with my family. We had a group of 8, and the experience couldn't have been better! The food was delicious, and the service was great. The restaurant was almost empty because of the later reservation on a Sunday evening, but it was definitely the perfect choice. The pate was spectacular, and the bangers and mash are so tasty. I look forward to dining there again soon."

  • "So not the most spectacular list of offerings, but I like their cocktail menu and let's be honest, that's the only reason people go to brunch! I like this place, but it can get pricey if you're drinking."

  • "My husband & I ate at Dandelion's over our Spring break. I had seen them mentioned on Food Network and we wanted to try them. We were not dissapointed. We had drinks and appetizers at the bar while waiting for our resvertion ( we were early). The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. We were taken to our table on time and had a great dinner of fish & chips. I agree with food network, they were great! We are planning a return trip so we can take our son this time-he is a big fish & chips fan."

  • "The Dandelion doesn't disappoint -- stellar service, atmosphere and exquisite cuisine always encourage another visit. A panoply of terrines, a fantastic dry-aged burger, quaffable cocktails and knowledgeable staff make for an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner here."

  • "Actually felt like I was in Britian! Food was fantastic!! Interesting drink list - the teased me since I had the Iron Lady but was a real treat! Two of had The Royal- English muffins, thin sliced salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Those plates went back to the kitchen sooo clean- we didn't waste a morsel! Sides were a great size, four of us were able to have more than just a taste! And the bacon was too die for!!"

  • "I took a friend to Dandelion for lunch and it was his first time...but not mine. We both got the burgers and were very pleased...awesome burgers!"

  • "A must try is the eggs benedict and house aged angus beef burger with triple cooked chips. My fiancé who loves egg benedict couldn't get over how good her breakfast was. She described it as "Devine". As for myself I had the burger and hands down one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. The bacon is perfectly cooked and it's topped with a special sauce that just help to make the burger. This is a must go."

  • "Had a great meal in the Dog Room upstairs. Our waiter was a little in attentive but other wait staff made up for it. Lots of unusual choices on the menu, such as a Deviled Eggs starter. They were delicious! Great energy in the whole restaurant. Definitely going back often."

  • "I surprised my wife with a night out to The Dandilion and we loved it! We enjoy trying new local resturaunts as opposed to relying on the national chains. The Dandilion measures up to what you would expect an English Pub to be like. I will recommend The Dandilion to others."

  • "Another theme Stephen Starr this one an English Pub. Lots of attention to detail with mismatched chintz furniture and dog statues and pictures everywhere. The food is very good as noted above although I think it's more comfort food than gourmet. Lamb Shepard pie, deviled eggs etc. the fish and chips while a predictable entree were delicious, the line caught cod so incredibly fresh. Fun atmosphere and good neighborhood eatery."

  • "I made a Sunday morning brunch reservation for six at the Dandelion after reading positive reviews on Yelp and Open Table. Our party included my mom, dad, sister, cousin and girlfriend. My goal was to find a place with a big enough menu to accommodate both dad's preference for traditional fare and my sister's appreciation for things slightly exotic. It was my girlfriend's first brunch with my parents so I also wanted a setting that communicated a sense of occasion. The Dandelion was perfect on all counts. The ambiance was intimate, bright and cheery. The food was excellent. Our server was patient, knowledgeable and, being from Wales, added a flair of authenticity to the experience. It was a perfect brunch and we will be back."

  • "The Saturday evening we were there, the noise level was so high we could not converse with the person next to us, let alone the person on the other side of the table. It was extreme and it was a definite negative. The food was excellent but I would NOT go back unless it was maybe a Tuesday night and hopefully quieter!"

  • "We had a decent meal here. The food was very good. Our waiter was attentive. Overall a nice experience. The ambiance is very old world pub - very well done. How odd that you only offer the chance to rate restaurants as "quiet", "moderate" and "energetic." Some restaurants are just loud and this is one of them. Since the building was originally a house, each dining area is fairly small. This is a plus until those 3 tables of 8 women each sit down for a birthday party and begin screaming. On a slow night I bet it would be quiet enough to not have to yell to be heard by your fellow diner."

  • "We didn't expect there to be so many diners at 1:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon, but the restaurant was packed. However, we got great service and the food was outstanding."

  • "This is our second time at the Dandelion, and if anything it was even better than the first. We had outstanding service and a lovely table on the 2nd floor near the front window, which was a bit away from the crazy in the middle of the restaurant (there were several large parties). The food is always the showstopper though. Asparagus soup that must have contained a pound of pureed asparagus, highlighted with a dollop of cherve creme, fresh-looking and tasting dandelion salad with a lovely lemony dressing, but the highlight for me was the amazing homemade ricotta cheese bathed in olive oil and herbs with sourdough toast. I'll come back again and again. Hubby had roast chicken, started with smoked salmon and beets that was inspired."

  • "Besides the locator and decor, Dandelion never disappoints! Impeccable presentations are a given, with beautiful displays, but the quality of food is what truly matters! The pickled beet root jar was a delight, the beets were so savory and the pairing of goat cheese was perfect. (We asked for more baguettes frequently, but were always presented with a few more quickly.) The butter lettuce salad was also delicious. A bit of a small portion, but very tasty with its addition of pomegranate, walnuts and apples. Truly the perfect little summery salad. Not my first time at Dandelion and certainly not my last! Absolutely charming an delicate."

  • "The food was wonderful and the place is charming. Not your typical restaurant since it's in a big house and so it's very fun to have all these different levels and different rooms to eat in. We loved it for a fun and relaxing work dinner. The food is an eclectic combination bandeverything we ordered was delicious! It was also quite affordable considering the quality of the food and the service."

  • "I have been to the Dandelion numerous times and keep coming back for these reasons: LOVE the atmosphere, LOVE the food (the scones are the best scones I've ever had, but be sure to order side of clotted cream!), LOVE the prices, LOVE the fact that I can always get a reservation b/c the restaurant seats many without feeling too crowded, and LOVE the location after a day of shopping/sightseeing. Highly recommend."

  • "The food was good, the service was great, and the ambiance was special. A nice little pub for drinks with a group or a good meal. The menu offers wide variety of choice. The Shepherd's Pie was delicious and is highly recommended."

  • "Found this little gem on the Visit Philly website as a great place to do Brunch. They were absolutely right! What a cute, cozy place. Our service was excellent. The food was fresh, delicious and well prepared. Excellent Scones! The décor was really pretty - felt as If I was in London. Very nice - I would definitely recommend and go there again whenever in Philadelphia."

  • "I have had dinner a few times at The Dandelion and found the food to be acceptable, not great. This Sunday four of us met for brunch and I must say that everything was quite good. We had a variety of dishes--scones, smoked chedder omelette, eggs benedict, pate', even the English breakfast. We were quite pleased with everything and the scones (serving is fine for 4) were delightful. The sole complaint concerned the lox on the eggs benedict royale, which was dry and overly salty. We had asked for, and received a relatively quiet table and were seated on time. I would come again!"

  • "Dandelion was great. I went there for my 40th birthday and was very happy. Service was good. The welsh rarebit and rabbit pie were awesome. Also the chocolate caramel tart was amazing!!! We mentioned in passing it was my birthday and they came out with a candle. Very good place. I'd definitely recommend it."

  • "This is a great Starr restaurant. The food was exceptional, along with the service. The chairs were a little odd, with one being too high for the table, and the other being a soft, low sitting lounge chair. My pregnant wife was not very comfortable in either, but she opted for the lounge. I felt like a giant sitting in the other chair. Despite the awkwardness, we had an enjoyable time, loved the food, and were treated very well by the staff. It was a very romantic evening out to celebrate finding out the gender of our baby (IT'S A GIRL), and we were able to toast to the baby's health with "fizzy water". LOVED IT!"
