  • "Excellent - we had a awesome server - just delightful dinner."

  • "Had a great meal in the Dog Room upstairs. Our waiter was a little in attentive but other wait staff made up for it. Lots of unusual choices on the menu, such as a Deviled Eggs starter. They were delicious! Great energy in the whole restaurant. Definitely going back often."

  • "I surprised my wife with a night out to The Dandilion and we loved it! We enjoy trying new local resturaunts as opposed to relying on the national chains. The Dandilion measures up to what you would expect an English Pub to be like. I will recommend The Dandilion to others."

  • "Another theme Stephen Starr this one an English Pub. Lots of attention to detail with mismatched chintz furniture and dog statues and pictures everywhere. The food is very good as noted above although I think it's more comfort food than gourmet. Lamb Shepard pie, deviled eggs etc. the fish and chips while a predictable entree were delicious, the line caught cod so incredibly fresh. Fun atmosphere and good neighborhood eatery."

  • "I made a Sunday morning brunch reservation for six at the Dandelion after reading positive reviews on Yelp and Open Table. Our party included my mom, dad, sister, cousin and girlfriend. My goal was to find a place with a big enough menu to accommodate both dad's preference for traditional fare and my sister's appreciation for things slightly exotic. It was my girlfriend's first brunch with my parents so I also wanted a setting that communicated a sense of occasion. The Dandelion was perfect on all counts. The ambiance was intimate, bright and cheery. The food was excellent. Our server was patient, knowledgeable and, being from Wales, added a flair of authenticity to the experience. It was a perfect brunch and we will be back."

  • "I had a fantastic meal for my birthday here, the decor and ambience is amazing!"

  • "The Saturday evening we were there, the noise level was so high we could not converse with the person next to us, let alone the person on the other side of the table. It was extreme and it was a definite negative. The food was excellent but I would NOT go back unless it was maybe a Tuesday night and hopefully quieter!"

  • "We had a decent meal here. The food was very good. Our waiter was attentive. Overall a nice experience. The ambiance is very old world pub - very well done. How odd that you only offer the chance to rate restaurants as "quiet", "moderate" and "energetic." Some restaurants are just loud and this is one of them. Since the building was originally a house, each dining area is fairly small. This is a plus until those 3 tables of 8 women each sit down for a birthday party and begin screaming. On a slow night I bet it would be quiet enough to not have to yell to be heard by your fellow diner."

  • "We didn't expect there to be so many diners at 1:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon, but the restaurant was packed. However, we got great service and the food was outstanding."

  • "This is our second time at the Dandelion, and if anything it was even better than the first. We had outstanding service and a lovely table on the 2nd floor near the front window, which was a bit away from the crazy in the middle of the restaurant (there were several large parties). The food is always the showstopper though. Asparagus soup that must have contained a pound of pureed asparagus, highlighted with a dollop of cherve creme, fresh-looking and tasting dandelion salad with a lovely lemony dressing, but the highlight for me was the amazing homemade ricotta cheese bathed in olive oil and herbs with sourdough toast. I'll come back again and again. Hubby had roast chicken, started with smoked salmon and beets that was inspired."

  • "Besides the locator and decor, Dandelion never disappoints! Impeccable presentations are a given, with beautiful displays, but the quality of food is what truly matters! The pickled beet root jar was a delight, the beets were so savory and the pairing of goat cheese was perfect. (We asked for more baguettes frequently, but were always presented with a few more quickly.) The butter lettuce salad was also delicious. A bit of a small portion, but very tasty with its addition of pomegranate, walnuts and apples. Truly the perfect little summery salad. Not my first time at Dandelion and certainly not my last! Absolutely charming an delicate."

  • "The food was wonderful and the place is charming. Not your typical restaurant since it's in a big house and so it's very fun to have all these different levels and different rooms to eat in. We loved it for a fun and relaxing work dinner. The food is an eclectic combination bandeverything we ordered was delicious! It was also quite affordable considering the quality of the food and the service."

  • "I have been to the Dandelion numerous times and keep coming back for these reasons: LOVE the atmosphere, LOVE the food (the scones are the best scones I've ever had, but be sure to order side of clotted cream!), LOVE the prices, LOVE the fact that I can always get a reservation b/c the restaurant seats many without feeling too crowded, and LOVE the location after a day of shopping/sightseeing. Highly recommend."

  • "The food was good, the service was great, and the ambiance was special. A nice little pub for drinks with a group or a good meal. The menu offers wide variety of choice. The Shepherd's Pie was delicious and is highly recommended."

  • "Found this little gem on the Visit Philly website as a great place to do Brunch. They were absolutely right! What a cute, cozy place. Our service was excellent. The food was fresh, delicious and well prepared. Excellent Scones! The décor was really pretty - felt as If I was in London. Very nice - I would definitely recommend and go there again whenever in Philadelphia."

  • "Servers were very attentive and efficient. Food is English type dishes and excellent, much better than you are likely to get in England."

  • "Waiter (Nicole) was very attentive without being overbearing. That is a difficult balance, which she pulled off. The food is always great. The greatest accolade I can bestow is that Dandelion is always a reliably excellent experience."

  • "I have had dinner a few times at The Dandelion and found the food to be acceptable, not great. This Sunday four of us met for brunch and I must say that everything was quite good. We had a variety of dishes--scones, smoked chedder omelette, eggs benedict, pate', even the English breakfast. We were quite pleased with everything and the scones (serving is fine for 4) were delightful. The sole complaint concerned the lox on the eggs benedict royale, which was dry and overly salty. We had asked for, and received a relatively quiet table and were seated on time. I would come again!"

  • "Dandelion was great. I went there for my 40th birthday and was very happy. Service was good. The welsh rarebit and rabbit pie were awesome. Also the chocolate caramel tart was amazing!!! We mentioned in passing it was my birthday and they came out with a candle. Very good place. I'd definitely recommend it."

  • "Expensive and mediocre food and server was nice but not very good"

  • "This is a great Starr restaurant. The food was exceptional, along with the service. The chairs were a little odd, with one being too high for the table, and the other being a soft, low sitting lounge chair. My pregnant wife was not very comfortable in either, but she opted for the lounge. I felt like a giant sitting in the other chair. Despite the awkwardness, we had an enjoyable time, loved the food, and were treated very well by the staff. It was a very romantic evening out to celebrate finding out the gender of our baby (IT'S A GIRL), and we were able to toast to the baby's health with "fizzy water". LOVED IT!"

  • "Weather in Philly was terrible; but everything in this English pub was outstanding. Food and Beer were both very good with good amount of beer options (draught and bottle) and better food than in England. Will recommend."

  • "Spur-of-the-moment dinner selection on recommendation from boutique hotelier nearby. Authentic British food offerings with an excellent craft brew menu. Especially enjoyed the cask English bitter ale. Would recommend to a friend and will likely visit again on subsequent trips to Phila."

  • "We had only seen the outside of the restaurant and thought it would be a good place to try out. The food was great and the waitress was so nice! I would strongly recommend this place for dinner or just grabbing a couple beers."

  • "We had a great time here. Our waiter was awesome and so attentive. He just moved here and was British. Very authentic experience ;) we would definitely keep cioming back to this restaurant! The lamb shepards pie was amazing!"

  • "Fun ambiance; great attention to visual details in an updated English pub; great food; high noise level, 3rd visit there; definitely will return"

  • "Had lunch at dandelion with a colleague. I am on a low carb diet, so aside from not being able to have one of the dozen great beers, I had a terrific and healthy lunch that was tastey, on time and was accompanied by great service. Great vibe for a date and formal enough for a business lunch."

  • "Classic English Pub. Great appetizers. Awesome burgers. Amazing decor. Very busy so plan to wait a little while, but service was accommodating and knowledgable. Another Stephen Starr triumph."

  • "Absolutely phenomenal, the food, the service and the ambiance of The Dandelion made my twenty first feel like I was sitting right at home with my family but with VIP service. Definitely a new favorite spot."

  • "Delicious food, although portions are small. Quaint historic space that is a pleasant environment for eating and talking with friends or family. Pricey, but that's typical of this neighborhood. Will definitely return."

  • "We took a British friend here for a birthday celebration. He loved the Shepherd's pie and cider choices. The building is beautiful - seems like you are actually inside a British country house. Energetic, fun atmosphere."

  • "Overall the experience was good: from the shepard's pie, to the Brussels sprouts, all the way to their great beer selection. My only real negative was the seating. My wife and I sat at a table for two. She sat in the standard chair while I struggled in a low recliner. And while it fit the atmosphere of a British pub, I sank too low to the table and struggled with my food... I needed a booster seat! Besides that, great atmosphere and good to experience at least once."

  • "Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere but pedestrian, overpriced lunch fare."

  • "The menu selection at first seemed quite different, but we ended up getting the mussels and salmon to split. Both were very good. The bread withe the unsalted butter and sea salt that you can add on top was So different and ended up being delicious."

  • "The chicken paillard salad could take a lesson from the one at the Parc (a sister restaurant). This was okay, but I didn't like the dressing and it really isn't a chicken paillard to begin with. People next to us were very noisy and the seats are so close it was uncomfortable."

  • "Service is usually a little better. Server was not the most informed and a little overwhelmed."

  • "This place never disappoints; lunch, happy hour or dinner, all winners. There is something for everyone on the menu, and there is always something really special. The homemade ricotta will change your life. And, everyone I have ever taken gets excited when they learn we are going to be dinning at The Dandelion. Check it out, you will note be disappointed."
