  • "I took my sister from Texas for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the food. The waitress was friendly but my complaint is that since they do not open the upstairs bar at lunch time, the waitress must carry the martini glasses up almost 2 flights of stairs. She was proud that she did not spill any of our drinks however as she placed the drink down the garnish fell off and she did not offer to replace it. She was proud she did not spill the drink but that would not have happened because the small martini glass was only half full. At $12 a drink and only a half sized drink so we wouldn't spill, I felt cheated."

  • "I like this restaurant and have been there several time for business lunches but this time at lunch the hamburgers were not close to coming out as ordered. Medium was rare and medium rare was raw. They redid the raw hamburger and it came out well done. By the time I received the redone burger everyone else had finished eating. It is a $16 hamburger so they should get it right. The steak in the salad was almost raw. The risotto portion was so small that my friend had to order more food. Oh well."

  • "The ambience was really amazing- and the food was spectacular. Steven Star hasn't let us down yet! We will most certainly be back."

  • "Maybe it was what we ordered, but we were expecting food that was better. Service was great."

  • "Took my friend visiting from Ohio here for his first Philly experience. It was very clean, the food was phenomenal, and the ambiance was perfect. Our waiter was great. He was very genuine and was very attentive to us. We definitely agree, we would come back!"

  • "I've eaten at dandelion many times and love it. But this time, the grilled salmon was ordinary and the server was indifferent."

  • "We really enjoyed The Dandelion. The ambiance and layout of the place is just special. It has a European feel to it with little rooms and multiple cozy bars. Lots of windows done with great window treatments. The food was great and service first rate. One of the best places in Philadelphia and we've been to most."

  • "had a good experience, great cheese plate. Good portion size, nice waitress! They did bring our main course out too early while our appetizer was still out and the table was small so that was awkward, but I think it may have just been a communication error."

  • "First time in Philadelphia, my girlfriend and I decided to go prior to a ghost hunting tour. The food was awesome. The fish and chips was some of the best I had. The fish was great the chips were cooked to perfection. My girlfriend had the Macaroni and cheese.. And according to her it's definitely top 3 worthy (she loves her Mac and cheese). For dessert the specialty is their pudding. We split chocolate Guinness pudding and if I come back to Philadelphia I'm getting that pudding. It was among the best chocolate desserts I have ever had and I love my chocolate desserts. For anyone who comes to Philadelphia, whether it's lunch or dinner you have to come to the dandelion. Solid beer, great entrees and phenomenal dessert .. Nothing better."

  • "Another fantastic visit to Dandelion. The service, food and decor are amazing. The staff is very friendly and we enjoy the food tremendously. The Bloody Marys are terrific and the bubbles and squeak are delicious. My wife and I really like dining here. We make it a point each visit to Philly to visit Dandelion."

  • "The food is delicious, but very expensive for what you get. It's also kind of strang that all of the dishes are served on wooden slabs instead of plates. It seems like they're trying too hard to be quirky and modern which doesn't really tie in with the setting which is very old English traditional. I would go back, but I'll make sure to save before I go. $20 for fish & chips is a bit pricey"

  • "This place is absolutely adorable, and if you've spent any time in England, this will transport you back there. There are loads of rooms that are decorated just right and give off that pub atmosphere. The food is expensive FWIW, but it is in Center City, and with such a great atmosphere, it's what you'd expect."

  • "My friends and I dined here on a recent weeknight and it was a hit. We sampled the deviled eggs, housemade ricotta, fish and chips, crab risotto, and the grilled striped bass special, and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was all very good. Service was great too. It was pretty quiet when we arrived but got very busy (and loud) by the time we left. Fun place, highly recommend."

  • "This was my first time dining at The Dandelion, and not just having a few pints, and it was absolutely fantastic. I have been to almost all of Steven Starr's restaurants, and I've never had a bad meal, and this occasion didn't deviate. The music was a little loud in the beginning but the server helped to get the volume turned down. The food was fantastic, the drinks were great, try the basil punnet you won't be disappointed. The server was very attentive to our needs. If you're a fan of oysters you need to try their oysters of the day because they're fantastic. The butter lettuce salad was delicious and perfectly dressed as well as the dandelion salad. Very fresh ingredients, and the ambiance brought me back to living in England."

  • "Went for brunch and, had we not been full with the generous sized portions, would've stayed for lunch, dinner, and dessert. Phenomenal food, unique and hip atmosphere, great service, cocktail menu just as impressive as the food. Sampled both breakfast and lunch items and each bite was better than the last. If you are a fan of smoked salmon and eggs benedict I highly recommend the Royale with a Buck's Fizz or the Beetroot Cured Salmon starter with a hard apple cider."

  • "Normally this is a great restaurant with one of the best burgers I have ever had. Not so on Mother's Day. Having worked in fine dining for nearly 2 decades I am aware that eating out on that day is a No-No but you cannot let Mom down on her day so 'out we went'. We were made to wait for our table (understandable, but they did offer Mom & I complimentary taste of sparkling Rosé which was nice) but the bottle of champagne that my sister had sent, was not cold at the table when we arrived nor did the waitress know anything about it. The food was mediocre that day. The oysters on the half shell which are served with a (normally) fabulous beet mignonette were a let down. I expect that for this kind of $$, the should be on top of their game."

  • "We came for Fathers Day Brunch, party of 6. we had requested a specific table that wasnt honored. thats understandable but what was unacceptable was that we ordered our food and then waited more then an HOUR for the food to come. We ordered Brunch food that is very fast to make (eggs, oatmeal, smoked salmon on a bagel). We complained to the server who apologized and said "its Fathers Day, we are busy" and then made the manager aware but the manager said nothing to us and took nothing off our $200 bill. We will never come to this restaurant again."

  • "This charming English Gastropub is in the heart of Center City and has a Victorian feel with contempotary service and attention to deal. I hosted a dinner for members of my professional organization. Our party of six women were treated like English royalty by the front desk staff, our wonderful waiter, Matt and a very attentive room staff. The food is delicious (particularly salads, fish and the pot pies) and the place settings and room decor are great fun. The desserts were just as delicious as they looked. The wine and drinks were also great. Prices were reasonable for the location, exceptional service, and quality of the fresh, delicious and attractive food. I am looking very forward to returning for lunch, brunch or dinner."

  • "I have been dying to try this place. The service is on par!! The French toast, side of eggs and bacon with OJ; umm ummm ummm! The drinks and space is very amenable to romantic, groups or single dining. It's so nicely organized and staff are Devine."

  • "I took my Grandparents, Parents, and siblings here after Graduating from Drexel. Food was tasty and service was good. We had a nice sized table in a space that felt like it was just for us. It wasn't too loud so we could have a good conversation. My grandparents like the old feel and decor."

  • "This place is one of my fav spots in the city. The burger is always perfection, the service is fantastic, and we got the upstairs bay window booth/table this time, which had a great view. That bread with salt and butter is to die for. The cheese plate is the best. Love love love Dandelion."

  • "We had a good time at the Dandelion, especially because we went there to celebrate graduation as a family. However, we went at 2pm on a Friday and we felt rushed through dinning as it seemed like they wanted us to leave within an hour to set up for their next event. I was also disappointed that they didn't really have a vegetarian lunch meal, only a soup and salad option. The have had a great celery dish in the past, but it seems that they are no longer including that on either the lunch or dinner menus. I'll probably go back to the Dandelion, but not with as much enthusiasm as I've done previously."

  • "For it sets out to do, I think this place does it well. The restaurant itself is stunning, all the little details that go into making it feel authentic. However, the prices are a tad high, the portions are small - and it isn't always reliable. My chips are almost always oversalted, but they do fry a good fish."

  • "Dandelion takes an old home and turns it into a vibrant dining event. Service was excellent. Food choices were varied and interesting. Limited draft brews, but plenty of bottled beers. A good cocktail list. The trout my wife had was well prepared and tasty. My pork loin was delicious. Noise level a bit high, but part of that was a very loud table next to us. Overall a very good experience."

  • "Our server, Chris, recommended the fish and chips by saying that people come from far and wide to sample it. Originally from the UK, I normally forgo fish and chips on a menu, but this time I decided to try it. It was excellent! The beer batter was light and fluffy, the triple cooked chips tasty and hot. We were even given Malt Vinegar, essential!! A shandy completed the perfect meal. The fresh ricotta and dandelion salad were also excellent. The interior of the restaurant is similar to an old British Inn. Lots of dark wood. We enjoyed sitting upstairs near an open window overlooking the street below. The service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The restaurant is within walking distance of local theaters."

  • "Service from waitstaff and hostesses excellent and accommodating. Food excellent. Noise level and music a bit too loud. We will definitely return. Since we had the Sunday brunch menu but inspected the other menus, we decided that in the coming year we will return for a dinner, a lunch, and also for a weekend afternoon tea (with our senior British guest who loved it all!). Totally authentic furnishings and wall art and woodwork make for great ambience and will peak your curiosity in between bites, sips, and conversation. Prices reasonable for the great quality and service and surroundings."

  • "A Irish Pub in Center City Philly with great food and amazing service despite a busy Thursday night bar scene. We had a nice discussion on way to the table who asked if we needed to be somewhere and what time (we were going to a play at eight) the serve was prompt and friendly, drinks well made. Great experience we will be back. "
