We usually go to the Parc for brunch on Sundays, but we tried the Dandelion this time. We'll be going back to the Parc in the future. Problems at the Dandelion include: 1. No bread (made at the Parc) available to go with egg dishes. After much discussion finally got some toast which should have been offered immediately. We were told that was because of the chef from England. Everytime we've been in England bread or toast was always served at Breakfast. Maybe a new chef is needed. 2. The service was no where near as attentive as at the Parc. 3. Fresh OJ is available (good) but not mentioned on the menu (bad). 4. No long lines at Dandelion as at the Parc. Easy to see why.

Good show! The staff is SUPERB. No detail is left unattended which is amazing considering the sheer size of the place. And Aikens can cook, even by Philadelphia standards...really, I never thought British cuisine could be so delightful!

When first entering the restaurant it is easy to be overwhelmed by the crowded bar area - it is a very tight squeeze on a Saturday night. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we were seated at 7:45 after inquiring a second time if our table was ready. Once seated, the service was outstanding. The food was incredible. Butter lettuce salad with pomegranite and stilton was great as was the pork pate! Entrees of crispy sea bass and rabbit pie were to die for! Beers were great too, but the casks were a bit expensive - $22.50 for 2 beers was a bit much, even in Rittenhouse.

All in all my husband, son and myself had an enjoyable evening and dinner. I was slightly disappointed in the selections of dinner and felt more options other than rabbit and pork belly (two things that can put off someone). We absolutely would eat there again, though. The appetizers of cheese and the salmon pate were outstanding and quite filling.

The Dandelion looks and feels wonderful - it's a really enjoyable experience just to be in the delightful old building. It felt very authentic, right down to the fact that we were sitting in front of a drafty window with rickety chairs - we didn't mind these details as they added to the hominess of the experience. The servers were knowledgable and hardworking. Our salads and fish entrees were delicious, but I did not rate the food outstanding because the portions were too small. For $23 or $26, you should get more than just a mouthful of greens and veggies with your main course, although every bite was delicious. The cheese plate was paltry for $18. Enlarge the portions by 10% and we'll be back! Otherwise, not enough food for the price.

The butter lettuce salad was one of the best salads I've ever had. It's hard to make a salad distinguishable - who remembers a salad? But this one was outstanding. Service was excellent and attentive. We ordered the rabbit pot pie, bangers and mash, and the chicken. All more than met our expectations. We left full and happy to have come.

Although our waitress was very pleasant and did everything by the book I found the service to be a bit over zealous. It implied to me that they wanted to rush us. It seemed that every 3 minutes someone was coming over to check on us, to the point where it was disruptive. Yet when they did check on us, we never got our water refilled or anything. I had no fork? Just seemed they wanted to clear our plates and get us out of there. My friend finished her meal first and I found it rude that they kept trying to clear our plates even though my meal was not finished. Plus we were sitting on top of the other guests. There were plenty of tables open but we were shoved in a tiny corner table.

The pork belly was awesome! And particularly given the relatively low cost, it was a steal! The picked beet root jar was a total knock-off of the pickles at Village Whiskey (with crostini, spreading cheese, and olivetapenade). The pickles themselves were better than Garces's, the other stuff not as much. The waiter was very good, but the other front-of-the-house staff kept trying to clear things off the table before they were finished, which was extremely annoying.

Interesting menu and a very nice pub feel. Food was very good (loved the Welsh rarebit), but we were really disappointed at the close quarters. We had a five-person table against the window with a beautiful view of the city (if you faced the window). My son's elbow was literally jammed against the back of the chair to his left while his bride's was touching the table to her right. Really affected our experience. The ambience would be excellent if they gave you room to sit and talk.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

Let me start by saying that the restaurant is fun to look at and that the food was nice. But the noise level was ridiculous and people were standing 3 deep at the bar (not the main one on the first floor) backing right up into our table. It made for good people watching but it was difficult to hear each other. The service also ranged from brutally efficient (I guess it has to be in a place that big?) to indifferent (we had bread plates and an empty cocktail glass on our table for most of the meal on a very small table). I don't think I'd go back but it was a good enough time and the food was quite nice - my companion reported that her cocktail was excellent.

Our party of five went to the Dandelion on Saturday night. We were sat in the bar area, and when we asked to move to a quieter table the hostess gave us some real attitude about it. We finally ended up moving, but one of our guests had to sit on a stool. The hostess and the server said "they didn't have any more chairs."! It felt like we were being punished because we asked to sit in a quieter area to enjoy our meal. When one of the managers came around, he was able to get us a seat. Apart from that - the food was delicious. The deviled eggs were fantastic, and the eton mess for dessert was incredible. Once we got comfortable, we had a very positive experience.

The staff is friendly and attentive. I've been here twice now, and the bar has been standing room only both times. If you're going with a group and would like to have conversation and/or a little space, dont sit in the bar area. The upstairs restaurant has plenty of room and was a bit loud, but nothing we couldn't hear each other over. The food was wonderful and appropriately priced. We had the cheese board to start - wonderful! Entrees were the pork belly (amazing!), duck, burger and fish&chips. We finished with the apple crumble and carrot cake. I would suggest all of these items without hesitation. The cocktails are a bit pricey, so stick to the beer/wine if you're pinching your pennies.

disappointed in the front of the house. checked in 25 minutes early for our booking, though we were seated almost an hour AFTER our scheduled time, then received an attitude from the hostess, who obviously forgot about us/failed to check us in. perhaps she should have been apologetic, though she implied it was our fault and was flat out rude.the food was very good, though i filled up on drinks while rotting at the bar so didn't really get to enjoy. our server was nothing but nice and seemed knowledgeable of the menu.the beer selection is top notch, i enjoy british ale.overall, we would have had a lovely experience if she would have been removed from the evening all together.

This place is amazing! Be sure to go upstairs to the mezzanine and sit by the fire place with a glass of wine while waiting for the rest of your party to show up. Stepping into the Dandelion was like going back in time to a luxurious old city house. the creaky wood floors and large bay windows made me feel as if I were in someone's living room a centure ago. The food was inventive and delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommended!
