  • "The Cypress Inn has a nice location on the river. Unfortunately, we went for the food experience and we were disappointed. The meal and the wine list were very disappointing."

  • "My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner! It was our first time and we had a lovely window seat to get a great view of the sun going down on the river! The food was amazing and the service was exceptional! We will defiently be back, and looking forward to it!"

  • "Our waitress did not bring us silverware, I had to ask for it. I had to return the first dish i ordered, because it was to spicy. They were out of all of the specials for the night, as a matter of fact I had to ask the waitress about them. There was no excuse for the poor service or running out of food."

  • "As usual, Our experience at the Cypress Inn was wonderful! My wife had been asking me for years to come back after our first experience, but now I am planning our next dining experience at Cypress Inn."

  • "They girl who served us was very rude and inconsiderate. Very disappointed. Have always loves Cypress Inn but don't know if I will come back due to that waitress!"

  • "Cypress Inn is a favorite spot for lunch, dinner, and group gatherings in Tuscaloosa. The food was delicious and the service was helpful. The biggest surprise was the "dessert sampler", which was four very generous slices of their deliciously famous pies. We could not begin to finish them! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cypress Inn."

  • "The service was good. The food was average and the prices reasonable. Everyone enjoyed the fried pickles. Daughter's salmon was bland and my chicken breast looked like it came out of a bag and was tender but not overly flavorful. My son loved the fried catfish and although as a UA student, he frequents CI, I'm not in a hurry to return. Not much of a health conscious selection available."

  • "My daughter and I went to Cypress with 6 of her teammates (ages 8-15) and their moms. The service was fabulous, the view was incredible (try to get there shortly before sunset!) and the food was scrumptious. The waiter so kindly split up our complicated checks without any complaint. Be sure to have shrimp and grits, topped off with a slice of peanut butter pie!"

  • "Great dining experience! A must try if you are in the area."

  • "I was pleased that my online reservations worked well for my group. The receptionist was gracious and polite as if to say, "We were awaiting your arrival", Thanks Cypress Inn!"

  • "The staff is always top notch. Some of the best of any restaurant I've seen anywhere. The menu selection needs to be updated. It hasn't changed since the mid '90s. The food is normally good but has become inconsistent lately, very hit or miss. Still has an incredible view of the Black Warrior River."

  • "We had a great time at Cypress Saturday night. Food was great, service was great!!"

  • "Our meal was very good. Meals included catfish, fried shrimp, and grilled chicken caesar salad. The side of cheese grits was great. Service was good and great view of river despite the rainstorm. Will definitely go back."

  • "The food was excellent as always! Perfect temperature, and very tasty. Impressive and beautiful scenery. Waitress very good!"

  • "Had never been here before. Drove from Hoover. Would definitely go again. The view was fantastic. The food was excellent. I had the fried green tomatoes, filet mignon, and the cheese grits. All were fabulous. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. The cheese pie was excellent as well."

  • "When we arrived, we were seated immediately. FYI,I did make reservations. We were allowed just enough time after making our beverage selection to browse the menu. Our waiter was very nice, and made sure to check on us periodically. Our food came out oretty fast compared to alot of places. Which was great because we arrived hungry after such a busy day. I ordered the southern fried catfish and enjoyed it! My fiance ordered the steak which he mentioned was not cooked as well as he wanted but his concern was the lack of flavor. This is to be debated being that he likes his food heavily seasoned so the steak may have been just right for myself or anyone else. I look forward to visiting again!"

  • "Loved the restaurant! Food was exactly what I had been missing since I moved to south Florida. Staff very accommodating . We missed our reservation time as this place is VERY hard to find and they seated us in two minutes anyways. Beautiful view of the river. Ask for a table by the window. fun bar"

  • "Food was decent although my husband's entrée was rather tasteless, he said. Everyone was pleased with the sampler platter for appetizer. Cost of entrées were as expected. The atmosphere is very nice and the sunset was enjoyable to view. The waitress did her job but was not at all friendly or very observant. Didn't even wish my daughter a HB. I left her a very nice tip (over 20%) because we were with people who were regulars at the Cypress Inn and I didn't want to jip the waitress and have it reflect back on them. I would have expected a nice departure smile or something after receiving a nice tip but she didn't even say have a good evening. All in all I was pleased with dinner but probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit again."

  • "The portion of salmon was very, very small and considering the price extremely overpriced, it looked more like a kid's portion than an adult meal."
    Dined on 10/27/2013
  • "Our seafood tasted like it had been cooked hours before. Not very good. Some of our party had steak which was very good. Rolls are awesome!"
    Dined on 10/26/2013
  • "The Cypress Inn is almost in 'institution' in Tuscaloosa, and they excel at creating tasty, authentic dishes from local seafood and ingredients. And the rolls and muffins are near famous. Always enjoy the view of the Black Warrior River with the University of Alabama on the other side of the river."
    Dined on 10/21/2013
  • "We don't live in the Tuscaloosa area, but whenever we get to town we always try and work in a visit here. Never had used the reservation system before, but since we were in a time crunch we tried it last time and it worked out perfectly. Usually go with the CI specialty (catfish) but everything I've had here is excellent, including the blackened tilapia I had this time."

  • "Food was good and servings generous. Beautiful river view though never seem to get an outside table. I go every time I return to town. Not 5 star but really good !"
