Diner Reviews
  • "The food was excellent, good value and great presentation. The atmosphere is really nice for a romantic dinner."

  • "I was last at the Creparie about 35 years ago when it was still fairly new and was completely impressed with the atmosphere and the food. Now, after all this time, it is still the same amazing food and the atmosphere still has that cozy, quiet charm that I experienced back then."

  • "It smelt a bit musty, but otherwise was a good lunch venue"

  • "The portions of food were great and our service was fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful evening."

  • "We had not been here in a long time and now we remember why. The decor is dated and worn out, nothing has been updated for 20 years. Food was adequate but lacking the quality of what the Creperie name. We will not be back until there are changes."

  • "2nd time at the Creperie and we were not dissapointed, the food and ambiance were both first rate, the food absolutely delicious and the staff very attentive. "Happy 38th Birthday Creperie, may you have many more"."

  • "We have been here twice for a special occasion and have never been disappointed. We will return."

  • "The food was OK but not exciting. Otherwise, I found my overall experience to be just fine although some aspects certainly could be improved, e.g., the chairs are losing their upholstery. And the panels need to be removed from the hallway to the toilets. Little things prevent this from being a first-class restaurant."

  • "The best place in town for crepes! I have gone there for a party and with just a couple people. The creperie never disappoints! The food is amazing, service great, and a unique atmosphere."

  • "Excellent lunch venue for a team lunch. Allow 1.5 hrs to finish."

  • "we appreciated your 38 anniversary special especially as we were there to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary.. we were customers of yours the year you opened as going to the Creperie was a special event for us when we were first dating. Good things do last as your restaurant and our marriage attest too. Thank you for memorable evenings then and now. ."

  • "Disappointed. Reputation exceeds the taste. Would not return."

  • "We wanted to check out The Creperie for the Downtown Dining Week, as there was a $25 dinner featured. We started with the lobster red pepper bisque, which was delicious, creamy and flavorful. The main course was a stuffed flank steak on a skewer. Although the meat was a little tougher than I prefer, the stuffing, gravy and seasonal vegetables were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Dessert was a perfectly sized bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. The wine list was very impressive and reasonably priced, and the restaurant had great atmosphere! We will definitely be back!"

  • "This was a truly wonderful dinner that my daughter and I greatly enjoyed. The service was very quick and friendly. Our waiter made some great suggestions for us. The food was delicious from start to finish- the salad, crepe entrees and dessert were all mouth watering. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Crepes were great, service was excellent. Great wine. Veggies were a little under-done, rice was a little overdone. Atmosphere is terrific."

  • "Food wasn't as good as it has been the past. The service is still very good. It's time to replace the chairs, actually it was probably time 5 years ago."

  • "My wife and I have dined at the Creperie on occasion over the years and it never disappoints. Good service, good food, good atmosphere."

  • "The entre was delicious. That's the best I can say about this experience. The service was really poor. And the desert was not great. Drinks took twenty minutes to be served. One entre at our table didn't come at the same time as the others. Then it came undercooked. The waitress told the table to eat and not wait for the last plate to be served. That was strange. And then to cap it off, our waitress had a complaint at another table and decided to raise her voice with them in a nasty tone. Bad experience all around."

  • "My favourite appetizer is the croustilles au fromage. The three course meal is a must have and the crepe a la reine is delicious! There are a large variety of crepes to choose from as well as other non-crepe meals. The desserts are also amazing! Service is outstanding and it is a very romantic restaurant! Everything is also very reasonably priced and I never leave hungry. Great quality and quantity!"

  • "We booked and were seated for 12 pm lunch ......but the food took forever to come. It was close to an hr after our order went in. It was a rush to get back to the office for 2 pm meetings. No fault of our waiter. But the restaurant has to get it together more. The restaurant wasn't that busy that day for lunch either. Very disappointed!"

  • "Coming down the stairs into The Creperie does a lot to begin setting the mood for intimate dining. There are a lot of small tables and a great deal of effort has gone towards giving each one a quiet piece of the restaurant. Too many places we eat at have not paid enough attention to this aspect of the experience for the patrons. The service is prompt, professional and friendly. The food and beverage choices were the right temperature and portion size. The taste of everything we tried was very nice and we will definitely be back for more."

  • "Wonderful service, food and surroundings. Don't go if you have limited time. Save it for a time when you can savor, be relaxed and appreciate this fine place."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "We enjoyed our meal & the ambiance, especially the chocolate fondue and apple-pecan crepe desserts. The steak and the cordon bleu chicken were very nice, too. The veggies were fabulous - except the boiled potatoes that came with the chicken. They had obviously been leftover, then reheated, so the flavour was pathetic. The mashed potatoes, on the other hand, and the bright and flavourful broccoli-carrot- Brussels sprout medley quite exceeded expectations. Our server was very attentive. There was rather a wait for the chicken, which she said took 20 minutes to cook, but we were in no hurry, and she filled the time with frequent refills of drinks and the bread basket."

  • "The food was really great! The 'Downtown Dining Week' menu was a prefect sample however there were no crepe options. So if that was what you were craving you'd be out of luck. Bread pudding was awesome however the ice cream crepe is my favorite."

  • "We came during Downtown Dining Week on a busy, short-staffed night. The staff, though rushed, did their best to cover the shortfall and make us feel very welcome. We enjoyed all the dishes, which we felt were each a good sized portion for the price. Could not complain about anything."

  • "We waited over 45 mins for our soup. Then they gave me the wrong dinner entre. They then guaranteed that they would put a rush on my dinner I again waited 45 mins other diners came and went my boyfriend ate his entire dinner and I still didn't have my dinner. Eventually we asked for the bill and I never ended up getting my dinner. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I was very disappointed."

  • "A great evening to celebrate a belated Valentines dinner with my husband!"
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Food was delicious, however it was funny to see that the crepe were served with potato or pasta and vegetable. That makes the plate too heavy .. I am originally from France and usually crepes are not served with anything else. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience, food quality is there and I really appreciated it. Service was outstanding, very professional."

  • "After learning of their anniversary special where 2 people can eat a 3 course meal for $38, we came for a Friday night out. Before taking our order, our waiter advised us there would be an 18% gratuity added onto the bill. We tend to tip at least 20% anyway so didn't think it was a problem. While the food was very good and we had an enjoyable evening, after paying the bill, something didn't add up. What they did was slap the 18% onto the undiscounted price of the Three Course Meal Deal of $28.95 x 2 which is what we would have paid. It was only a difference of $3.58 but it was the point of how they went about it as it was closer to a 27% tip that we were forced to pay! In any case, like I said, the food was enjoyable."

  • "It has been a while since dining here and I was a little dissapointed. The ambience is still lovely although it was a bit cold - it was very cold out so that might have had something to do with it. We started out with chicken nachos and the chicken definitely was not fresh! The salads were very good and the best part of the meal. The crepes are a nice size but have too much sauce, so much so that it was difficult to taste the meat. We were not rushed which was nice the service was good."

  • "Hadn't been there for some time! 1. Our server was sociable but seemed to have a lot of tables to look after so our service was slow for most of the night but we were in no hurry! It was a Sunday night 2. 8 Adults in our party and seated by the bar. There was a loud grinding noise, I believe to mix drinks. which drowned our conversation. 3. The food was good 4. I don't believe there was an background music, if so it didn't register 5. Nice decor 6. $290.00 for eight plus tip 7. Would pass on a return meal as there wasn't anything memorable to bring us back!"

  • "The food is always great here and the buildings decor has so much history in it it truly feels different from the cookie cutter bold designs you see in modern day restaurants. The staff as usual are on top of their game, knowing their menu inside and out and never leaving our table feeling ignored or forgotten. Job well done, would recommend to anyone wanting something different than the norm, and a nice slow pace to the evening with lots of conversation."

  • "I was searching for Gluten-Free options in dining and I found it at The Creperie. I didn't know that it would be possible to make a GF crepe that wouldn't fall to pieces or be hard a rock, but they found the right recipe to make it work. The meal was amazing. My Celiac son has also eaten at this restaurant (how I found out about it), and he was able to eat safely which is always a concern. The restaurant is tucked into a basement of the building, so was a little hard to find at first, but it was very impressive once inside - stepping down into a historic space with lots of brick and wooden beams. The tables were set up to allow for a measure of privacy with assorted types of dividing walls, and yet open enough to enjoy the space."

  • "Keep the ambience, but PLEASE re-upholster and clean it up. Time for a makeover. Also, our party of 6 was VERY cramped. I'd booked it far in advance, and was assured that it wouldn't be too busy, but there were other large parties near us, and we could hardly move. Did not add to the experience. The occasion was my daughter's 30th birthday, and when I booked with Open Table, I asked if it was alright to bring in our own birthday cake. I was not advised otherwise, but when we arrived, I was told that there is a $15.00 service charge!!!! I DON'T THINK SO!!!! Over all, I was personally quite disappointed, and will not be visiting again until changes are made."
