We love to go to this restaurant when they have live music in the bar - it is such a lively atmosphere, but not too loud. We can still converse while we enjoy the great food. The staff is so friendly & we like that Chef Paul visits each table to inquire about our meals.

...but small menu of good seafood. Not going to win any culinary prizes for creativity or service but a decent enough seafood meal. I can see why some reviewers complain about price...that may be why the restaurant is always running "coupon" specials. Here's a thought, expand the menu and lower the price point just a bit, add a table cloth and decent wine glasses and you won't have to resort to couponing....people will come because it is an elegant, great value meal and not a "discount" night.

We are originally east coasters, although lived here 40 years. We are always searching great meals from the sea. Nice place, they had an pretty good guitar/harmonica/singer, nice. The drinks were expensive. Food selection minimal so you home for a chef with a great nightly special. Soup came out cold, scallops came out cold and were sent back and came back 1 less and still somewhat cold. The parmesan encrusted sole crust was soggy and wet. I assumed it would be more of a browned oven baked crust. Although after removing the wet coating, the sole itself was nice. Many years ago there was a place called SEAFOOD. Fantastic! But unfortunately the Creek is not. Maybe an off night?

This used to be one of our little hidden neighborhood joints where we would sneak away from the kids for some great food. We loved the mussel appetizer and the entrees like lamb and scallops atop risotto. This past visit we realized whatever had them change the name of the restaurant has also changed everything we liked. The mussels were smaller and only passable...now mixed with cut up grocery grade sausage. We didn't stay for more as nothing on the menu was appealing. The lights were turned up inside (on a Saturday night) and the oddest selection of Top 40 pop played overhead. Weird! We will miss Pesce Fresco...we won't likely return to the Creek.

We used to frequent Pesce Fresco. We like the location and the new decor. Service was good....a little too fast on a Saturday night. We wanted to just relax and linger a bit. Food was complicated....the lobster bisque was peppery and fishy, the sole, on top of a greasy quinoa artichoke mix. The fish was tasty though. My Cioppino was very good and had a nice broth/sauce. The eggplant appetizer was ok, the eggplant was a little tough. We would go again and give then a second chance. Wouldn't rave about this meal.

My Wife and I went here for our anniversary as we have for the last 4-5 years. The experience was great as usual. The menu is limited but what is there is done extremely well. The wine list is also somewhat limited but there are some great wines included. The dining experience this time and in the past has made The Creek Seafood Grill our favorite place for an intimate dining experience. We would recommend it to anyone.

We joined friends for dinner and we had our 11 month old grandson. Our waitress was very attentive and we took advantage of the "buy two entrees and get an appetizer free", so we got two!! The live music in the bar area was quite nice and was not too loud. The service and food were VERY good and we definitely will be going back.

We don't expect much from the suburbs, but we used to go here when it was Pesce Fresco. Our servermust have been new in her field. The light level was geared for people who don't see well (we are in our sixties and could fit into this category). Our appetizer of sauteed calamari was great. Our entress of Cioppino and Salmon tasteless. Won't be back when we are in the souther part of town.

On Fri nite, I had the special: a lobster split length-wise and stuffed with shrimp (and bread) for $29. It was nice and cooked properly. My husband had cioppino ($23) and it had overcooked noodles in it which is weird for that dish. The waiter, Adam, needed training and a more pleasant demeanor. First he pushed the alcohol then he rushed us to order. If we are reading the menus, it is fine to approach once and ask if we have questions. After that, if we are still looking at the menus then we are not ready to order. Then, he took my husbands plate while I was still eating. Later, while I was still holding a lobster claw, he asked if I was done and if he should take my plate. Uh...no...if I was done, I would not be chewing. Won't go back.

My husband and I pass by this restaurant on our evening walks. We were curious about the name change, and when I got a 25% off coupon, we decided to try it. It was a lovely Friday night, and we enjoyed the nice patio seating. The menu was creative, the wine list small but had good selections, and the food was delicious. However, the service was painfully slow. We placed a before-dinner drink order, and I saw our items sitting at the bar for nearly 20 minutes before being brought to the table. When the drinks were brought out was when we were finally able to order. Then it took another LONG time for the food to arrive. Then a LONG time to order dessert. A two-course meal should not take two hours to finish. And it wasn't that busy.

The food was very nice and well presented. But, for the price I also expect ambiance and a less "cheap" feeling. Better wine glasses, a menu that is not just printed on paper, and better/more professional servers are expected at a restaurant at this price point.

  • Splitting hairs...BUT
    eatoutalotVIP
    Dined on 9/12/2014
We keep trying this spot ready to be just thrilled and always end up with a perfectly adequate meal...BUT, and this is where we are "splitting hairs," for 25-30 dollars per entrée we would really like a tablecloth, not a table that looks as if they were purchased at an Olive Garden or Denny's going out of business sale. & for 12 dollars per wine by the glass, invest in some real crystal wine glasses, not the generic ones with a big "lip" that ruin the taste of a decent bottle of wine. If it's 5 bucks a glass, fine, but good wine needs a good glass...any "upscale" restaurant ought to know that. The fish entrees are excellent, at 5-6 dollars per "scallop" they ought to be...But warning, I'd bet those aren't diver scallops as advertised!

I had enjoyed several good meals at Pesce Fresco a couple of years back and hoped this concept would be as good. Unfortunately that was not the case. Calamari (sautéed) was actually good, but pretty spicy, which was not depicted on the menu. I ordered the marlin and was assured that it would be a flakey, tender version of swordfish... It was pretty tough and chewy (I rarely send food back because I was hungry and don't like to make a stink). The asparagus that topped the marlin was WAY overlooked. My wife ordered a shrimp dish and special ordered her shrimp to be sautéed instead of breaded. The shrimp was slightly undercooked with very little flavor. The cremè brûlée was good, just a little tepid. Waiter was nice and pretty responsive.

We have been dining at The Creek for years (it was Pesce Fresco). The food has always been a bit pricey - but very good and the service was excellent. We hadn't been able to go for a number of months and was surprised to find the service was horrible. Paul still runs an excellent kitchen and the food was very good. The wine was not a disappointed either. However, the service was collegiate and no longer the professional service we were used to. We were told that Erin is not there any longer - and possibly that is why the wait staff is so poor. Whatever, it is probably our last visit. When you spend that kind of money for a wonderful experience - and the experience is marred by poor service - well

After reading about The Creek online, I was interested in trying this restaurant, as there are so few places to get good seafood in the Denver metropolitan area other than downtown. The lobster, crab, scallops, and shrimp that we had were all fairly fresh and pretty tasty -- certainly above average. My only complaint is that the wine list is rather limited, and it's weighted toward wines under $35/bottle. All in all, though, The Creek is a nice, intimate place in an unexpected location. We'll definitely be back again.

Staff and Chef are friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and reasonalbly priced. Shrimp and Grits had a nice spicey note which went well with my tap beer. (Nice choices of Microbrews on tap). We also had a salmon dish that was perfectly done on a bed of orzo. It was refresshing to have calamari in a spicey sauce with fresh toast and bread and not the issue one each fried calamari. The Jazz duo with Clint Dadian was awesome. I would have enjoyed them more if they were in the main dining room, although, having music in the bar area was nice, too.

We dined on the special menu for Denver Restaurant week. The Lobster Ravioli and the Shrimp and Grits were very tasty. They were the right sized portion for the meal. However when our checked arrived, there was a $2.00 charge added to the cost of the cocktail for ordering it "on the rocks". There wasn't any mention of this potential charge by our waiter. $2.00 for Ice? Are you kidding me?!?!?!

Our Restaurant Week dinner on Wednesday night was quite enjoyable. The entree selections were varied - our group sampled three and all were delicious. The calamari appetizer was very good, and not the usual fried calamari. The shrimp appetizer contained too many jalapenos and we couldn't eat it. Service was careful, even though there were too few waitstaff for that evening's crowd. The exterior strip mall facade belies a sophisticate interior. I would definitely go back to Creek Seafood to order from the full menu. A few tweaks to the Restaurant Week menu would have upgraded the experience, but I was impressed at how well the kitchen and the front of the house performed on such a busy weeknight.

Having enjoyed the Creek previously, we were interested in introducing it to friends. Partly because we were there early (6 pm) on a Monday night, it was quiet and easy to chat (and hear) across the table. Notice that is top priority to our group! The service is very attentive, and the food delicious. It is SO hard to choose from all their wonderful selections. The calamari lived up to its reputation, the "cheesecake" appetizer was also delicious. Our party enjoyed the lobster ravioli, the shrimp and grits, and the wonderful salmon. And wished we had room to try more entrees! Leave a little room for the desserts ~ just as hard to decide between them! All in all, a wonderful restaurant, 9 1/2 *s.

Great, great service....that is where the good news stops. We decided to try someplace new for restaurant week. The shrimp in the appetizer and entree was b-l-a-n-d. Is it possible that it was purchased frozen from Sam's Club? Lobster ravioli was just okay, portion was small with only 3 ravioli on the plate. Dessert was the highlight, small portion to share. Both of us I'll that night--will NOT return!
