The Cove Restaurant is going downhill and if something isn't done to improve the food preparation, it will shut down. My dinner had to be sent back on 2 different occasions. The menu is boring and way too expensive for what you get. Unless the Cove restaurant doesn't improve, I will never go back. They need a new chef who knows how to prepare the meals on the menu.

If you can get Rachel as your server, do so. She was the best, we could not have received better service. The place is beautiful and we enjoyed fireworks afterwards. The warm loaf of bread was delicious, so good it is hard to resist eating too much, especially if you are hungry. My party enjoyed themselves very much, too bad the slots were not as considerate.

Entree selections were very good to choose from. Lobster bisque soup was way too salty and watery. Too little lobster in the lobster mac n cheese dish for $11...Steaks and Crabcakes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I will return for the steak and crabcakes and potatoes only.

It was overpriced, but that wasn't the worst. On my way to the men's room, I past a storage closet where the door was left open to the public. Also, there was a set of swinging doors to a "prep area" with windows in the doors. Neither the doors nor the view were pleasant. And then, across from the restrooms, there was an alcove where chairs were being stored. Curtains were hung by what looked like coat racks and they were about three feet too long (if you're not careful someone could trip). And again the curtains were not pulled shut so the mess behind was visible. The Caesar Salad had too much dressing, but everyone enjoyed the rest of the dinner. Based on prices and decor, wouldn't eat there again, if not for the comps.

  • My Dinner - Friday 6/13/14
    marjoe
    Dined on 6/13/2014
I ordered the special for the evening which was the boneless rib eye for $45.00. When it finally arrived it was very fatty, burnt or charred, and disgusting. I couldn't find the meat for all the fat. I sent it back and reordered a filet mignon. In the meantime, my husband was almost finished his dinner and my replacement hadn't arrived yet, even though I was assured that my dinner would only take a few minutes to replace. After my husband finished his dinner and visited the restroom and returned, my dinner still didn't arrive. Needless to say, by that time I had lost my appetite and cancelled the order. I have no desire to return the the Cove at Harrah's Phila.

The food and service were excellent. We have dined here before and the restaurant always meets or exceeds our expectations. We typically dine at the Cove for special occasions. The braised ribs are especially one of my favorites and any seafood dish is worthy of ordering. The atmosphere is relaxed yet classy ... a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a special dining treat. The bread is outstanding, as well.

This restaurant is overpriced at any price. The service was poor, food was terrible. We had the Cape May dinner. The lobster and shrimp were tasteless and very small. We could not find or taste the clams. Though tough, the asparagus was the best part of the meal. The only thing we enjoyed, was a view of the river. Don't bother.

  • DO NOT PAY TO EAT HERE

I understand this restaurant is in a casino... in Chester. That being said, if you have casino comps, a free meal is a free meal. HOWEVER, if you are actually paying to eat here, why not try one of the DOZENS of better restaurants within a 10-mile radius? Let's start with the caprese salad - billed as a beefsteak tomato with mozzarella. The tomato was GREEN, and rotted. I was stunned. There is NO WAY a chef, kitchen assistant OR server should have let that plate arrive at the table. And yet it passed by all of them. Then, it was a filet and garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes were NOT fresh, clearly of the "instant" variety, and so laden with salt they were inedible.

I dined with my husband Saturday, April 12, at the Cove Restaurant. I ordered the twin lobster tails. One of the tails was delicious and the other tail was mushy. I couldn't eat it. The waitress offered another tail but this was at the end of the meal and I didn't want to wait because my husband was finished his meal and the desire was gone. This is the second time this happened to me when I ordered the twin lobster tails. I didn't say anything to management, but I will never order the twin lobster tails again and will not recommend them. Closer attention should be given by the chefs if they know the difference.

We have dined at the Cove several times, and the food and service was traditionally very good. Sunday's experience was far from good, service was horrendous, server never even asked if we wanted a drink either alcoholic or water. When we did order some drinks, our water glasses were never filled. Food was not done properly, steak was requested for medium well and came out well done extremely. Would not dine at the Cove again.

The food was excellent. We waited for things a little longer than we are used to at the Cove. It seemed that the the wait staff were stressed and had trouble keeping up. When asked they took care of problems immediately but it seemed they could have had a little more support. We still enjoyed the Restaurant and will go back.

I went to the Cove for my Diamond Celebration meal. The ambience was very nice and the noise level was tolerable. The service by the staff was very good even though they were shorthand. The food was service on nice simple art deco dishes, however, I ordered the octopus salad which was a little too salty. The rest of my meal was great with the lobster bisque soup and the calamari. My husband ordered the New York strip steak with was succulent and cooked to perfection.

We made our reservation weeks before Valentine’s Day, no special menu was available and we would enjoy the regular menu. The V Day menu provided one mass production meal, no choices. We asked to see the regular menu and were told this was the only choice. After "ordering" we watched a 7 Star member use the regular menu to order. We were not asked if we wanted drinks. The meal was all provided on a single plank in the middle of the table. In the middle of flu season we had to use our forks to take all of our food from a single pile. Nothing special other than giving my wife a rose. No choice of food, a lousy presentation and a wait staff that was basically there to say here is your table, your food will be right up.

This was are third time at this restaurant, each time one persons dinner was wrong. It wasn't the waitress fault it was the chief screwed up the order. The last visit the manger comped the dessert for all three of us which was nice. I would recommend this restaurant but the orders got messed up. Great food!

It was my wife's birthday and I decided to take her out to celebrate at the Cove Restaurant at Harrah's Chester. The staff at the restaurant went way out of their way to make sure our evening was very special. Not only were our dinners prepared to perfection, but the staff presented us with a cake just to help complete the occasion. Did I also mention that there was a live entertainer in the restaurant who performed Sinatra during the evening and who also took time to sing Happy Birthday to my wife. The staff there really made the night a memorable occasion.

This is a wonderful restaurant. The Sunday special, Prime Rib, was totally delicious and comparable to The Prime Rib restaurant. The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and the Filet Mignon and the Scallops were also delicious. Our waitress Alysha was super and the entrees arrived hot and cooked perfectly. The wedge salads were generous enough for sharing and the Blue Cheese Dressing was very good. I would highly recommend this resaturant and plan to return very soon.
