"I had the steak frites. My "medium" steak came rare. I sent it back. They made me a new steak cooked the same! And have me half the fries that were on the plate originally. The waiter was inattentive and the balance of the meal was meh."

"I had been here for lunch a few times and thought it would be a good choice for a family dinner. In general the food was very good, not amazing but solidly good . I would say that the fish and chips with onion rings needs a lighter batter, it's just a little too much. Ambiance is good and the place was packed at 8 pm. Our group really enjoyed the evening. Our only real gripe was the fairly inattentive service. We had to ask for bread twice before it arrived, we were never asked if drinks needed refilling- which they did- and we rarely saw our waitress."

"The Cottage has become my new favorite lunch place since it opened in Chestnut Hill last year. This was only my second time having dinner there, but the restaurant impresses in the evening (in this case, the very early evening) as well. Because of the hour, there were only a few other parties dining. What really stood out for me on this visit was the excellent service. While the service at The Cottage has always been good, it occurred to me just how superior it is to that at any of the other suburban restaurants I frequent. I especially appreciate that plates are not removed from the table until all diners have finished eating. I had an excellent and beautifully-plated cod special, and look forward to my next dinner at The Cottage."

"The food is absolutlely terrific, my second time there and they did not dissapoint me. I had the Baja Fish Tacos that are made with Mahi Mahi, and they are absolutely delectable. The Prawn Shrimp Cocktail is wonderful as well.
Cisco Whale's Tale on draft was a nice item as well on the menu as I normally cannot get that on tap unless I am on Nantucket.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. They have a Gluten Free Menu as well with enough of an assortment that is welcoming to those with gluten allergies.
For dessert, my daughter had this choclate souffle with hot fudge and vanilla ice cream that was absolutley amazing."
