We had an amazing and delicious meal, and our server was fantastic. We'd selected somewhat divergent dishes but wanted to share a bottle of wine, and our server recommended a great bottle that paired well with everything we ordered. The family-style seating was pleasant, and we even saw some of our table-mates sharing bites with other people at the table (who they didn't know personally). The food was so great and beautifully presented that everyone was ogling everyone's else's dishes. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, inside and out. The only drawback is that the planes overhead are occasionally deafening. Still, we are so glad to have discovered The Corson Building and will definitely be returning!

Our wait staff person added to the pleasure of our Friday night dinner which, different than other nights, is a la carte. Menu had an interesting choice of sustainable food selections and all of our courses were delicious. Appreciators of French wine so enjoyed the wine list.

I took my husband to the Corson Building on a whim after reading good things about it on Yelp. We knew it was fine dining, yet neither of us were really dressed the part as it was a hot July day (I was wearing shorts and a sweatshirt, he was wearing jeans and a tee-shirt). We were greeted in the garden door and asked if we would like to sit outside, not sure if that was because of our choice of clothing, or because it was nice with the sun setting. We were eating on a Friday, so the food was à la carte. We each had salads, shared an order of fried whole smelt, a mid-entree of ham, then I had oil boiled fish and he had lamb. The food was so tender and packed with flavor, my fish melted in my mouth. We will definitely be returning shortly!

If you come by cab, beware flying by as the house was marooned by by unfeeling road planners between junction and flyover. Through a lush garden and into a big room that has age and patina more like Europe than Seattle. Family style seating at at dark tables with white linen looks great. The staff are lovely. Courteous and friendly, clearly proud of the place and the food. The menu is short ( Friday is their only a la carte evening) and fresh fresh fresh. The chefs arealso bold in their mix of ingredients which is refreshing but can leave you a bit quizzical. Highly recommended.

Great experience from start to finish. Family style seating and serving in a lovely, small homestyle room. Ample portions and innovative dishes, accompanied by wines chosen by the chef, bottles on the table to serve one's self. I love this place. Wish they were open every night!

The atmosphere is great and the service perfect. The food - not so much. While I like everything we ordered, it was not "over the top" in the balance of flavors. Portions were a little small. The waiter suggested this might be so and suggested that we order another dish or expand the size of the items we ordered, but that would have increased the cost of an already expensive meal.

This is a tough one. The setting is lovely. The food is good but I wouldn't say it is great. We went to the Saturday night price fixe dinner. I enjoyed most of the courses but none of them wowed me. If you had a large group it would be a good choice. The wine pairing was excellent. It's just really expensive for what you get. If you're after a true foodie experience I'd go to Altura or The Book Bindery.

The Corson Building was suggested to me by a friend who said, "Thank me later." Boy was he right! This is a truly special place, and it is a must for foodies. I was there for Sunday supper and thoroughly enjoyed the family-style dining. The food was inventive (and delicious!), using fresh local ingredients and masterful combinations of taste and texture. The wines were spot-on. The service provided by Matt Dann was perfect in every way. Come a few minutes early so you can wander in the lovely gardens. I cannot wait to return.

The servers are outstanding and so knowledgeable about what they are presenting. We had a group of 12 and just had a great experience. Not our first time and definitely not our last. Always a treat to go there that we look forward to.

Get your reservations now and plan to go have a fabulous experience. Four of us went on a Friday night and shared the dishes we ordered. The waiter was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and guiding us as far as portions and ingredients. We LOVED every dish. Also loved the atmosphere, the building, the garden. We noticed that there was one outside table, which was filled so we ate inside. An outside table in the garden on a beautiful night would be a top choice for us next time. This now is a definite "go back to" restaurant ...hopefully many many times!!!

After arriving at the restaurant and realizing that we would be seated with a bunch of strangers, I was a little bit taken back. However very quickly we were engaged in a fun conversation and we enjoyed our company immensely. And now to the food......we had the smelt, salad, tuna, mussels, lamb and cod....and but not to be forgotten a rhubarb pie with pistachio ice cream. The service was impeccable and the food was just delicious

My husband and I recently visited the Corson building on a Saturday evening. Upon booking on OT, the restaurant phoned to ask if we had any food allergies. We really didn't know what we had signed up for and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant seats in tables of 8 and the food is served family style. They open their doors at 6:30 p.m. and greeted us and other guests with a glass of proseco with rhubarb syrup. It only got better with amazing food courses. We greatly enjoyed the wine pairings. We thought the group seating was a little weird but we quickly warmed up to our table companions. We started out quietly but the family style of passing trays of amazing food and friendly staff quickly turn things into a party.

The Corson Building was on our "list" and finally we found the perfect time and reason to go as the kick off to a "staycation." The experience surprised and delighted over and over from parking in front of the ornamental iron fence with ancient wisteria vine, to being greeted by name and offered a cocktail with housemade ingredients, to the new table friends we met, through the platters of opulent food. The wine pairings were skillful and unusual. The Saturday night communal single seating service is a "6 degrees of separation experience." The platters of food kept coming out, each more delightful than the last. Somehow the portions were exactly right. The staff were engaging and professional, evidencing passion for their craft.

This is by far the most unique and intimate dining experience in Seattle or anywhere. The food is outstanding - fresh and perfectly prepared. I have dined here two times and each time the service and food were outstanding. My main complaint is it is hard to share conversation here as there is no sound dampening in the ceiling or on the walls. As the evening goes on and the volume of the restaurant goes up, it is almost impossible to hear what is being said with diners in our party.

Rarely do I like to pick a favorite but The Corson Building has won this distinction...hands down. A quirky location amid industrial buildings, train tracks and nearby I-5 might seem iffy but it only gives this rustically elegant restaurant added charm. The interior is warm and inviting, the service is impeccable (friendly and knowledgeable), and the food is delicious. With the exception of one member of our party of six, we had the halibut entree served over swiss chard and beets with a sprinkle of flash-fried emmer (farro)... devine. All of us selected the endive starter salad with avocado and grapefruit... equally good. We dined on a Friday eve with dining selections made a la carte (as opposed to their Saturday prix fixe menu). So good!

Our Corson Building experience was outstanding. The meal (no set menu, prix-fixe) was amazingly well prepared, fresh, and creative. The ingredients were top notch and the wine pairing was well selected and complimented the food well. As adventurous eaters, neither one of us had any issues with the food choices or preparation; the main course was made up of a couple of different rabbit preparations. There was a rich assortment of seafood the night we were there, and a pork based terrine that was absolutely delicious. The sheer amount of food is astonishing, and towards the end we were definitely sorry we had not paced ourselves better. I wouldn't hesitate to go again and again.
