food is good. service was very good. only 3 star rating because had to send one of the entrees back to the kitchen twice (asked for medium meat, but got over-cooked twice). other apps/entrees were very good. drinks at the bar upstairs are great, but downstairs are on the weaker side. overall, a nice little place to try.

I am not sure what happened, but I had a TERRIBLE experience at The Corner. There is a new menu and seems like a new staff. Every simple question require the waitress checking with the chef. Quality has taken a nosedive. I hope this was a one-off problem.

Although I understand this place has been here a few years, I had never been there. And what a wonderful surprise! Casual, energetic, wonderful food without pretense. We ate downstairs, and it was noisy, but far from unbearable. Service was friendly and efficient; our waiter knowledgable and funny. My dining partner thought the fried chicken was the best ever! Portions were extremely generous and well seasoned. We'll definitely be back.

I've been there a few times. Twice for drinks and twice for dinner. Foood is great. Service is pretty bad. The first time I was there for food and our waitress left without telling us and a busboy had to get our check. The second time I ate there we sat out on the roof deck. I think our servers name was Anne, she was tall. Took her forever to come over to my date and I. I had asked for two waters to with my beer and my dates cocktail. She brought us one water. Asked a busboy and her again before we got it. Flagged her down another 20-30 minutes later to order our food. Food was great, I had the fish sandwich and my date had the meatballs. We were both happy with the food. At the end our meal she tried to save herself by trying to be cute.

I've enjoyed The Corner the past several years, it always had reliable, interesting, and affordable food and fantastic cocktails. But they've completely changed the menu for the worse. Gone at the unique American dishes - duck with lentils, pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon - replaced by boring, frankly not very good American fare. Two dishes were unexpectedly very spicy, cream of cauliflower soup and spaghetti with meatballs. Our waiter got her order wrong three times: wrong dinner, forgot her dessert, and then brought the wrong dessert. My other friend ordered fried chicken; it was burnt and the grips were gloppy. But my gnocchi was fine. The cocktails were fine, but missing the creative flair I'd been used to there. Very disappointed!!!

What's all they hype?? Got there at 5:30 with reservation. Place empty but freezing because it was a cold night and all tables are near the door. Seat us further away from door, please. We got put next to the service area and I mean NEXT TO, as in 1" separating us and it was still chilly. One other couple in restaurant,.Large party comes and they seat them right next to us. We got out of there real fast. Waiter couldn't even get the soup right and we had to switch bowls. Soup lukewarm, crab fritters salty, porchetta sandwich nothing great with no taste. Really, what's the hype about?.

Opened 5 minutes late, people standing outside waiting. My friend's Bloody Mary--- pure cocktail sauce (way too much horseradish). Husband ordered cole slaw and got salad. After I ordered wine to go with my meal, I was told they were out of the main ingredient, eggplant, so I had to pick something else that really did not go. One friend said they need better descriptions on menu. So, while I am normally a big fan; not so much this time.

enjoyed a very nice valentine's dinner- the place is small, and decor and lighting made for an enjoyable experience. The background music volume occasionally ventured into louder than background music territory, but not too bad. Our waiter was new to the job I suspect- he hasn't worked out his schpiel yet. He just popped up at our table and his first words were, "do you want water?" But he and the rest of the staff were friendly and he happily took a picture of us after we ate! my burger and my boyfriend's fried chicken were very good, but the fries were a little on the salty side. I also enjoyed an excellent Cabernet (two glasses in fact!) with my meal. Overall, it was find choice for our evening- I would definitely go back.

I felt like for an American Bistro/Gastro Pub type of place the food wasn't up to par. Everything was good but just not as flavorful as you would expect. I had the fried chicken which was great but the sides, the greens and the grits were sub par. My guest had the steak entrée which was a shoulder cut and decent but very poorly plated. Also the service wasn't great, our waitress was not very pleasant and I had the feeling I was being rushed the whole mean. The place has great potential but right now its stuck somewhere between an American Bistro and a classic Continental food joint. On a positive note the fondue appetizer was delicious.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, however the service was slow. It appeared the server had several tables and as the evening got busier, he took on more tables. We finished our dinners at 7 and were ready for coffee and dessert, however we had to wait for nearly 15 minutes before the order was taken. We had orchestra tickets and had to rush out at the end of dessert. I enjoyed the restaurant, and would return when I had time for a more casual meal.

Had A 7:15 reservation, that the restaurant confirmed in the afternoon. Arrived and was told table wouldn't be ready because the customers seated there weren't ready to "face the cold". Had to go to the bar, service was horrible. I don't know why I had to wait so long - 30 to 40 minutes.

There are some wonderful qualities about the corner. The space is cozy and inviting, however, should you be seated at a high top on stools, you will quickly discover that your evening has become about your lower back and your core strength. The food was good but not memorable and it was off putting to have nearly everything we tried to order be "sold out." Several cocktails, the appetizer special and the sides for entrees. The service was lackluster: if a table of four orders the equally lackluster popcorn shrimp to share...put a 4th shrimp in the order.

We were a party of four and everyone had a great dish. The chicken pot pie was excellent, nice and hot and very tasty. The scallops were ordered by two diners, and both thought they were good, but small portions - I believe there were only 3. The fourth had gnocchi and thought it was sufficient. We shared 3 appetizers (cheese balls, fried pickles and deviled eggs), all very tasty, but the pickles seemed like a small portion. Overall, we've had excellent luck both with the food and the excellent service. Definately a great restaurant, but you may leave hungry if you don't order the right dish.

We went on an extremely cold evening, so restaurant wasn't crowded. My guess is this place is packed when the weather is better. Food and service was awesome!! We tried the Korean BBQ wings (heavenly), brussel sprouts (need the recipe for these) and scallips(yum). Highly recommend it and will definitely go again when I'm Back in town.

The Corner was perfect for our needs, a small group of friends who just wanted to catch up on a cold & snowy night. Though not crowded (perhaps because of the weather), it was not empty, either. The service was friendly, and they did not push us to leave, though we were the last party in the restaurant. The chicken pot pie, served in a hot cast-iron skillet, was dominated by the biscuit, alas, not the airy, fluffy biscuit one would hope to find on such dish; underneath, the chicken was a little dry and in a flavorless cream sauce with very few peas. It was perfectly edible, just not exceptional or even worth recommending. The gnocchi was more successful. We would return, but definitely try something else.

The food was excellent, and the environment was warm and friendly. The bloody mary was spicy, and the food was prepared exactly as ordered, and delicious. The only drawback I can think of is that the tables in the front dining area are very close together. We actually had to slide the table up against another where people were eating so that we could leave.

This small space may be a bit tight, but it does not scrimp on service, ambiance or food quality! The 4 of us all had delicious meals that were not overpriced. In particular, the Chicken Pot Pie was excellent -- and filling! Mmmmmm. Noise was the only drawback. Background music was a bit loud, and the hard surfaces reflect the various ongoing conversations, raising the noise level to "energetic". We will be back for more of the great food and good wine choices.

Once the crowd picks up it is a little difficult to find your server; they seem to get overwhelmed in such a small source.
