Diner Reviews
  • "Tasty food, great service (we were basically the only diners though), and reasonably priced. Winning combination! Limited menu, though, if you are looking for mega-choices. But enough to satisfy most diners, even the vegetarian/vegans."

  • "I made reservations for eight for a Friday evening. One couple had a last minute emergency and had to bow out. So.....we were six. Chef Michael greeted us and treated us more like life-long friends than customers. He regaled us with stories about many of the dishes and how they came to be and all the while kept the other diners entertained and happy, too. We ordered a pretty different selection of dishes. Without fail we felt our entire experience was OUTSTANDING!!! We left full and happy. We enjoyed ourselves, Chef Michael, his wait staff & the food so much that we are going back again and we are taking six other friends. We can't wait to try some different dishes. All in all, my husband and I have found our new favorite place."

  • "The menu is not large but the choices are good. The french onion soup is exceptional. We ate outside and it was very nice but the inside seemed a bit too tight for a larger table. The service is great and the owner is present and obviously working to build a loyal customer base. Nice place to go for a casual meal."

  • "Right before we arrived at the Corner Cafe, the place had filled up, so we waited at a table outside. When one of the servers told us that a table inside was ready, we asked if we could just sit outside, since we were only going to have a quick soup and coffee. She told us that the owner wouldn't allow that - that there would be a minimum of a soup and sandwich combination, each of which ran around $10. Mind you, there was another open table outside as well. The owner refused to serve us without getting his minimum order. We walked down the street and got some great sandwiches at another business. We walked back by the Corner Cafe 20 min later and there were only a few tables filled. They will never get our business."

  • "Michael's food is excellent. On arrival, the menu was fully explained to us, which made choosing easier, given the choice of main ingredient (i.e. chicken, beef pork etc). The soup starter was also delicious. I will have no hesitation in returning."

  • "This was our second time at The Corner Cafe. Both times we were there for dinner. We were greeted on our arrival, and acknowledged by name because of our reservation. I had the Italian beef the first time, and it was beautifully prepared. The second time I had the pulled pork, and the ginger and soy preparation made it surprising and delightful. My wife had the shrimp, seasoned to perfection, and then the Spanish chicken, also top notch. The soups to begin each course were superb, I had the chili, and my wife had the celery vegetable. Maybe best were the deserts, especially since you could have just a desert "shot", a small portion of an incredible desert. The food was perfectly portioned, elegantly seasoned, and worth the trip."
