The Copper OnionGreat food and serviceOne of our favorite eating spots. Bone marrow, pork belly, trout, carrots, ice cream!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMCopper Onion Experience Is GoldenWhat a great experience! We had chosen The Copper Onion from a website review since we were visiting Salt Lake City and wanted some place special to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was just the two of us and we mentioned to our waitress at the start that we wanted to take it slow. She was very accomandating dropping by at discrete intervals to check on us. Everything we order was fantastic from the chauterie, to the entrees to the "dessert" drinks afterwards. It was perfect for us -- fine dining at a price for those of us who don't have a champagne budget. I wished we lived there so we could go again!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCopper Onion is nice downtown cafeThe Copper Onion was not as upscale as we had expected. We were denied a reservation later than 5:30 pm, but while there until 7:00 the restaurant was only about 10%-50% filled. I realize that the kitchen might not have been able to keep up with much more, but it just looked bad. The portions (lamb ragout and rainbow trout) were small, but sufficient. Many restaurants give way too big portions.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMYUMWe don't live in SLC, but this place was recommended to us, so we gave it a try. We had Sunday brunch on the patio, and it was terrific. Great brunch food--standard fare along with some more creative brunch combinations--with great service. We loved sitting on the patio and enjoying a quiet Sunday morning. We will definitely return for dinner next time we are in Utah again.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMcasual urban French farmhouse!Country French menu, local ingredients, and refreshingly non-annoying hip vibe combine for a unique dining experience. Great stuff downtown.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFried Pork Belly........We picked Copper Onion because they have Fried Pork Belly on the menu. It turns out to be one of the best we have had for a long long time. We ordered the first one and then re-ordered another one after our main course. The bone marrow was very tasty. The cheese and meat board was nice too. We had all the local cheese and meat.
We sat outside because it was pretty warm and noisy inside. It was the only reason the noise level is moderate.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect as UsualThis was our 2 year anniversary of our first date at Copper Onion and I'd say, if anything, the restaurant has improved overall, but it's always been just right. The servers are always friendly and professional, the food has been nothing but excellent, especially the Batatas Bravas and Copper Onion Burger. Definitely our go-to place for any romantic milestone.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again...SUPERB service&meal!!!Once again, we had an incredible meal at Copper Onion. From the bone marrow, and salads, to the halibut, strip steak and pork chop...not a complaint was heard. Everyone loved the flavors!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Dinner Date Spot in SLCSecond visit to the Copper Onion - the menu was very fresh and featured local meats and cheese. I ordered the steak (medium rare) and it came out on the medium well end. The steak was definitely a larger serving size versus the trout filet, which two of my coworkers ordered. They had room for dessert though. Overall, lovely dining experience. The outside seating looked to be great if the weather was fitting. Definitely recommend for a nice dinner in SLC.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent place for SundayExcellent place for Sunday brunch. this place was highly recommended by several locals. I had the huevos rancheros--it was amazing. Nice portion-size, delicious. Definitely recommend getting reservations because this place is very popular.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, quick attentiveExcellent food, quick attentive service, busy, open atmosphere4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCherished LocationOur go-to restaurant for any excuse. The combination of price, flavors, services, ambience and overall quality makes Copper Onion a cherished location.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWould go again in a heartbeatWe really wanted to try this place for dinner but could only fit in brunch. I was a little nervous because of the rave reviews on all the rating sites but it lived up to the hype. We arrived at 11am on a Saturday to a mostly empty restaurant that was 3/4 full by the time we left an hour later. I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was the best I've ever had including my own (and I've had A LOT). My partner had the egg over mushrooms and potato sticks and while it was good, we're not sure why it gets all the reviewer attention when they have Huevos like that! The service was perfect - quick, polite and helpful -- and the decor is a kind of stylish rustic that's done just right.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Split pea soup is wonderful.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I wanted a niceMy wife and I wanted a nice night out. We made reservations at the Copper Onion and were not disappointed. The food was incredible. For the first time in my life I ordered duck off a menu with confidence and I was not let down. My wife ordered meat loaf and it was not your mother's meat loaf. Very well prepared and the food looked appetizing before even eating it. The seating is a bit cramped, but well worth it. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food at about $25-30 a person. (excluding alcohol)3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, a dependable neighborhooAs always, a dependable neighborhood gem! The table ordered trout, pork chops, steak for two, bone marrow, and a cheese plate. Everything was cooked to order, hot, and tasted good. Except for the the stinky cheese:)3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find in downtown SLC,Great find in downtown SLC, the split pea soup was amazing!!
