  • "Surprised but so pleased. Everything was perfect. "

  • "We had friends visiting us and had heard about the Copper Door, so we decided to try it. Both of the guys felt that they had the best steaks ever. I had the seafood de Meir, and it was fabulous. Both of the soups were excellent! There are many more items on the menu that we want to try. It is very up-scale and yet the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely return."

  • "After having a less than stellar experience, I returned to try the Copper Door once more. The food from beginning to end was absolutely superb. We could not have asked for a more perfect meal and we both declared it as such. We will definitely return."

  • "My wife and I have a place on Lake Chatuge and we love the Copper Door. This is as good as any upscale restaurant in Atlanta. We have been dining at the Copper Door on special occasions for the past 3 years and love the place. The food is outstanding and the owner and staff make you feel welcome the minute you enter the establishment. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We really enjoyed this as a special occasion meal. It's out of our price range to eat here regularly, but the food was wonderful and well worth what we spent."

  • "Four of us went here on the recommendation of fellow travelers at Brasstown Valley Resort. We were made to feel welcome and valued. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our table was ready on time. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Although everyone recommended the steaks, all four of us opted for a different seafood dish. We were all extremely pleased with our selection. The Mushroom Bisque soup was fabulous and the hot, fresh popovers were an original alternative to bread on the table. We did not have dessert but will next time. My husband already knows what he will order for the next three visits and this restaurant is a two hour drive for us. I will definitely have a steak next time."

  • "We have eaten there a number of times and the food is always excellent. The only complaint I have, is our server took to long to approach us. He stated he didn't see us."

  • "This was a special occasion and Copper Door really did make it special. Big Kudos to our server, Andrew. I couldn't fill in everything in the above recommendation section because it was our first time here. But it will definitely not be our last!"

  • "We arrived at our scheduled time, were promptly seated at the table we requested, Mark our server was quickly at out table and took our drink orders and the rest of the meal was just what we expected."

  • "This is by far the best fine-dining restaurant within 100 miles. It is on-par with Capital Grill, Shula's, Ruth's Chris, etc. Simply outstanding."

  • "I was discussing The Copper Door with a colleague, and we concluded the chef just really likes sharing good food. It's preparation, presentation, and even wine pairing all demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for fine food. We so appreciate being able to enjoy a top-class restaurant without having to drive to the city. I was completely surprised to find Pappy Van Winkle whisky being offered. And even when I ordered it, I expected to be told it was no longer available. It was a nice treat. I was impressed by your glasses and even though I wouldn't typically have ice in my whisky (I usually have scotch if I'm going to imbibe) our server was so proud of the presentation I had to go with it."

  • "The improvement on the mushroom soup now makes it outstandingly excellent. The duck was good but there was a lot more fat than usual. Disappointed that there was no smoked salmon for the appetizer. overall everything else was very good."

  • "We took some friends with us to The Copper Door. The food was awesome as always. Our friends, who enjoy great food, were impressed as well. The Craw fish Tortellini is excellent. We were seated right away. The ambience is always very nice. The only complaint I had was about the waiter. He was very knowledgeable about the food and he has a great memory, but little personality. That is always something I look for in a waiter or waitress, but this particular waiter, seemed depressed or preoccupied. But this little thing, would never keep me from coming back. The food is just way too good. Maybe he was just having a bad day, we all do:)"

  • "Had a delightful time and a delicious meal on Fat Tuesday. The NOLA food was extremely well-prepared and the seasonings were authentic based on our limited knowledge of NOLA from arecent trip. Best Sazeracs and Hurricanes ever!"

  • "The Caesar salad is the best anywhere. Specials are a real treat. They know how to do swordfish. Vegetables are very tasty. The whole experience makes you want to come back soon."

  • "Eager to try several dishes, my husband and I shared each course. The main dish was placed before us with an extra plate. As I attempted to divide the meal, I burned both of my hands on the super hot plates. Only after, did the waiter bring a napkin to move the plate. When I asked if he thought the plates weren't too hot (he gave no warning) he explained that he was a professional waiter with 20 years of experience and he was accustomed to this! I am not! The remainder of our meal, he and another waiter stood in a corner 10 feet away from our table, listening, chatting and pointing like school girls. It seemed likely we were the topic of their conversation, and I was most uncomfortable."

  • "We were told by neighbors in Blairsville, GA this place was definitely worth the 30 minute drive to Hayesville, NC and they were right! Everything we ordered was excellent from the salads to dessert. I was unsure about the honey lavender dressing on my spinach salad, but they brought me a little to taste first. Husband had the Chipotle Chicken and loved everything about it saying the chipotle had just the right amount of kick. I had the Fruits de Mar & if you love seafood, that's the dish to order. It has shrimp, scallops, salmon & mussels. Normally I'm a bit iffey on mussels, but these didn't have a gritty fishy taste at all. Friend raved about the Bananas Foster for dessert. Husband had it & agreed. Chocolate Flourless Cake, great too."

  • "I first had contact with the Copper Door at the Hiawassee Taste of Highlands fundraiser. The food was way above everyone else. I don't get to Hayesville often but the experience I had at the Copper Door will make it the place to go when ever I am there. I was able to make reservations on line at the last minute and get a conformation. The staff were very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and the service was very enjoyable I highly recommend this restaurant. ."

  • "Saturday evening was the second time we had been to the Open Door. When we arrived we were comfortably seated near the open fire place and our young server immediately came and welcomed us and took our drink orders. We had already reviewed the menu online and knew about what we wanted to try. Everything was properly prepared, served as you would want it and we both enjoyed the complete meal. I would highly recommend the Open Door for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience."

  • "We had heard how good the restaurant was and were finally able to try it. We are from a coastal town in Florida with many high end restaurants. The food, service and atmosphere at Copper Door is as good as any and better than most. Menu is very original with fresh, wholesome ingredients. Our server Andrew was very knowledgable and attentive. Only problem is it is not always easy to get a reservation, too many people have discovered this gem."
