  • "Our party of 4 enjoyed a private table, with a wonderful view of Sugarloaf Mountain and the setting sun. We were not rushed, but felt able to enjoy the company of our friends in a unique venue. We will return again, soon! Howard and Joy"

  • "The food is always good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The view is great. We eat here quite often and have always had a great experience. I would recommend the Comus Inn to anyone who likes a nice enjoyable atmosphere with great food. We held a wedding here last year and everything was incredible as well. Its nice to see a restaurant that maintains such a high level of service and quality food time and time again and where customers are the number one priority."

  • "The place is a hidden gem! It was my special someone's birthday and I surprised him with a romantic delicious dinner. Out table was faced towards the sugarloaf mountain during the sun setting. It was so romantic. The food was delicious. I had the grilled salmon and my special someone had the steak. it was all delicious!! we were able to take a walk outside and it was just the perfect conclusion to our romantic night. The service was on point. it was soo annoying (meaning servers that go every second) but he came at the right times and very pleasant."

  • "I went there March 28 and ordered the Bleu Bourbon burger. It seemed like an interesting combination but came out dry and without much flavor at all, not juicy. It is the first time in two years or more than I've been disappointed in one of their meals, and how can you go wrong with a hamburger. But it was in no way close to their usual standards. My friend had the Thai catfish and liked it, though."

  • "Enjoyable brunch. Scones were nicely done. Wish they had cappuccino or latte available. My omelette had a generous amount of fresh spinach, but resulted in soggy center."

  • "I love the Comus Inn....the chef is absolutely spectacular....she mixes foods that noone would think of, and the result is amazing!!! the Valentine's menu is a case in point .....but additionally, all is fresh and vivid....the chicken caesar salad I had is the best I have ever had in my life, and I have had a lot of them........I cannot recommend the Comus Inn more!!!!"

  • "I've been here many times for dinner, but this is the first time for brunch. I ordered the waffle which was cooked to perfection served with fresh fruit; the side of bacon was nos as good though. The cheeseburger was outstanding and the ceasar salad great as always. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. And of course the view of this place is amazing. I just wish there were more vegan options as my sister is vegan. They do have vegan options on the dinner menu."

  • "From the moment we walked in to the second we walked out, the service was unbelievable. The gentleman that seated us was such a sweatheart. The bartender/server was friendly and brought us everything promptly. The food was exceptional...the crabcake sandwhich was the best!"

  • "My husband and I took my mother in law to brunch on Sunday for her birthday. We mentioned that it was her special day in a private toast. I appreciate the fact that the waitress acknowledged it without fanfare. Some people enjoy singing and "special desserts" with candles but my husband and I hate it and my mother in law is very shy. She is also 79. thanks for a dignified and lovely morning."

  • "On this particular occasion the steak was tough and grisly, but the featured soup was delicious. The service was excellent, and the dining room looking out on Sugarloaf Mountain is so pretty."

  • "From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the host, Jesse. Staff was very attentive. When they heard we were celebrating a very special occasion, they brought champagne. View of sundown and the mountain could not be beat. Overall exceeded our expectations for a romantic celebratory dinner. We will definitely return!"

  • "If you are searching for the standard options, this is not the restaurant for that. The Comus Inn offers selections such as: Ground beef, pork and veal meatloaf , Cast Iron Seared Duck Breast, and Duroc Pork Belly. We were adventurous and tried the meatloaf along with appetizers of bourbon apple tart and crab hush puppies. The food was fresh and appealingly displayed, yet it was too much out of our norm. The atmosphere was amazing with the mountain view and country setting. We would come back and enjoy simple appetizers and drinks but would probably not come back for dinner."

  • "I was always curious about this place as I passed it often when going to Sugarloaf Winery or Sugarloaf Mountain. An opportunity came up to purchase a Groupon for dinner so I jumped on it. The food was mediocre at best; I would actually say it is poor. The only thing that saved it at all was the scenery, pleasant wait staff and the Pinot Grigio."

  • "As my friend's birthday brunch, it was superb. The view was wonderful, the food excellent and wait staff appropriately attentive. I was pleased to see the new brunch menu with many more breakfast choices. Also, I commend the baker who produced the exquisite apricot/ginger scones."

  • "This was our first visit to the Comus Inn, but it won't be our last. Spurred in by a Living Social Deal, we made the trip from DC to Sugarloaf in an easy 45 minutes, and found the Inn to be both charming and inviting. The Dining Rooms are well-laid out, and small enough to feel intimate without feeling like you are on top of other diners. The wait staff are very attentive and knowledgeable, and steered us to the Crab Hushpuppies and the Cast Iron Duck - both superlative. We cannot wait to return!"

  • "The duck appetizer was awesome, the wine list acceptable, staff is awesome, dinner was delicious, disappointed in the dessert though. Maybe we choose the wrong one."

  • "The food here is excellent--elegant without being excessively pricey. It is a quiet, classy venue with a great view. Service is attentive. A real gem in the shadow of Sugarloaf Mountain."

  • "We have gone here on several occasions , the food was always wonderful . This time the food was good but nothing special. The price range was 28 to 38 dollar range mostly 32 to 38. We do not mind paying entree prices in that range when it worth it. My husband thought they had raised the prices to offset the coupon from Living Social and Amazon , Every table including us had a coupon. The pastry chef was great. We had a chocolate tower and it was one of the best deserts."

  • "We had a wonderful evening celebrating a birthday in this cozy restaurant. The food was expertly served by a friendly, somewhat quirky waiter and we were given much attention by other staff as well. Food portions were just right and the choices were creative. We never felt rushed and we had a quiet table in a room with just one other couple that made the night even more special."

  • "We went on Saturday night because they were keeping the special Valentine's prix fixe menu through the weekend. We were greeted immediately by the jovial maitre d', Jessie and made to feel welcome. Once seated, we received table visits from the manager and bartender as well, wishing everyone well and checking on our experience. Our waitress was friendly, efficient and knowledgable about the menu, and was never obtrusive. Our prior request for a quieter table was perfectly met in the rear sun porch dining room, where we were out of traffic and could hear each other speak more easily. The selections were plentiful, the food was delicious, and we will definitely return."

  • "This was a great romantic location for Valentine's Day dinner. The back room has a beautiful view of Sugarloaf Mountain, esp during sunset. The waitress took 5 or 10 minutes to greet us, which was irritating, but I attribute this to the fact that we were the youngest guests there (23 y/o); other tables didn't have the same issue. Service for the remainder of the night was great as there were several staff members walking around to check on guests. The food was good, although too expensive considering portion sizes were quite small. We ordered off of a special holiday menu, although I was disappointed to see the dishes offered were entirely different from the menu posted on their website a week prior. Overall, worth the $ for the ambience."

  • "This is by far my favorite restaurant. The service is top notch and the food never lets you down. The ambience is always quiet and romantic and the view is amazing. Even if it's dark out your dining experience is always perfect. I have never been disappointed dining at the Comus Inn, and plan to do it many, many more times!"

  • "No.. we don't own it, don't work there, know anyone that works there or are affiliated with the place. Its just a great place to eat. What we like the most is that the food and service is always very good and most importantly, consistent. We never feel rushed and can always sit back and relax. The staff is always pleasant and working hard to please. The drive there is relaxing because its scenic and there's no traffic to contend with."

  • "If you're looking for a beautiful setting, you can't beat the beautiful glass dining room here with the mountain view, it's gorgeous on a clear day. Been here many times, with groups or dining just for two, for breakfast or lunch. All experiences have exceeded my expectations for the food and service. I definitely recommend the crabcakes, they are excellent. For breakfast or brunch, two "musts" are the bacon and biscuits. The applewood bacon here is the best I've ever had. The biscuits are light and fluffy and topped with their whipped honey butter, truly a delight. You'll want to come back again."

  • "Beautiful view and helpful staff. The breadbasket had muffins and biscuits. The service was attentive although staff tended to interrupt conversation instead of waiting for a break. However they really try and got everything right. The food was delicious and there was a nice selection. We will definitely continue to enjoy brunch here."

  • "I had brunch at the Comus Inn last Sunday with my daughter and enjoyed it very much. The food was very good and the setting is lovely, with a view of rolling hills and Sugarloaf Mountain in the background. After eating a substantial and delicious meal we went to Sugarloaf Mountain, which is only a few miles away, and walked off a bit of it. I've been going to Comus Inn off and on since I was a teenager and am glad to see that it is back in business. It is very special to be able to go to a country setting only about a half hour drive from town."
