The salmon and salad were good. My mom ordered the Shrimp Scampi- that was the only thing none of us cared for. It was served in a cream-based sauce. In my opinion, serving a cream-based sauce and calling it a Scampi is very misleading and quite frankly, erroneous. It was not what we were expecting nor was it what we wanted when we ordered the dish. The server was very nice and attentive but knew little about the food. We had the best time, The Clinton House really knows how to take care of you. We live in PA and it is a great place to meet up with our NJ friends and family. The four of us loved our meals and the desserts! Service was also top notch! You will not be disappointed if you choose to dine here!

This was our 2nd experience and the last time we were greeted as we left. We had alot of fun anyway and maybe they thought we were too loud. Warm, fresh bread opens the meal. Very tasty soups and complex salads, and you never have to ask for more of their delicious bleu cheese dressing on your salad. Had a king cut prime rib that was out of this world, prepared just as I requested. My wife had a pan-seared scallops dish that she really enjoyed. The portions are more than ample, and you never leave hungry. No scrimping on the spirits or desserts, either. Lunch was "just" fresh, well-prepared, and did not try too hard to be "nouveau". We went there on a snowy day and the fireplace was filled with a lovely fire. The ambiance was fine.
