  • The Circular Sunday Brunch: Extraordinary!

    Dined on 11/16/2014
This was our first visit to the Circular Sunday Brunch. My husband and I are not brunchers typically, but we we wanted to see for ourselves what all the talk was about. It is a sumptuous and impressive brunch with an array of food to suit all palates, even those of children. There were the usual suspects included: bread (including their famous chocolate cherry!); salad items to make your own or take as is (fabulous red skin potato!); breakfast items (with omelet station); meat carving station; action station (quesadillas); hot items (fish, meat, pasta, and wonderful roasted broccoli/cauliflower in delicate Mornay sauce); and desserts. The Circular is known for its desserts, having as their head pastry chef, the 2014 award winning chef in the world. Unless you are a diabetic, you must sample all of them. A way to do this is split tarts, etc. with someone in your party. It was an amazing brunch and could actually make me a fan of the form.

My wife and I dined there on our way to a concert at the Giant Center, and we both had fillet mignon... the best either of us ever had. I wouldn't normally put a sauce on one, but they came with one on the side. I had a horseradish bearnaise sauce, and my wife had truffle butter. I don't like asparagus, but liked it how they grilled it. I had a twice baked potato, and it was delicious. The worst part of the whole meal was my horseradish bearnaise sauce... it could have been spicier, but was great anyway. Some of the deserts I saw looked truly decadent. Unfortunately we didn't have time to stay for some. I am going to eat there again and again.

Once again, our annual ladies spa weekend at the Spa at the Hotel Hershey ended with a wonderful dinner at The Circular. The Circular is an elegant yet comfortable dining room. The food was excellent. The cocoa dusted scallops are always a favorite appetizer and the filets we had for our main course were excellent. The truffle mac and cheese side and brussel sprouts are a few new favorites! Service was excellent, well-timed and friendly. Our group is already looking forward to our dinner in The Circular next year.

Was recommended as a great place for dinner. Service was lovely and prompt/friendly. Food was not what we expected. Thought it would be more creative. Had seafood cocktail, very good. Brussels sprouts and Mac/cheese came out almost cold. Flavor lacking. Wine selection and drinks were very tasty!

A lovely dinner, with excellent service and great atmosphere. Celebrated our wedding anniversary and we were thrilled with the level of service, quality of food & excellent venue. We started with the ocean cocktail, fresh and delicate sea food with avocado and cocktail sauce. We had the lamb entree, which was perfectly cooked & seasoned. The tuna special was also spectacular. Ask for a table near the window, very romantic and a lovely view of the courtyard. A thorough wine list with multiple price points and varieties. Cindy, our server was very attentive, but not bothersome. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special dinner.

We are lucky to live close enough to Hershey to get to the Sunday brunch 2-3 times a year. Everytime we go, we bring our two children and are completely overwhelmed how fabulous the meal is. From the moment you sit down you are showered with happy friendly servers. Several of the servers have been there for the 9 years we have been going. Each visit has something new and exciting for each of us. I'm gluten-free and am THRILLED that they label all the food items with allergens. It certainly makes the whole experience even more wonderful for me! The pastry chef in the dining room has gone over the top with all the wonderful sweets. Looking forward to going back again at Christmas! BTW-Chad makes the BEST OMELETS!

I loved the feel of this place, totally open and contemporary. Service was very friendly and well informed. Wine list is extensive with several affordable options by the bottle and glass. Some guests were dressed rather casually, others a little more formal. Menu is fresh with plenty to choose from, but not overwhelming. Enjoyed our experience, but had one steak under cooked. Thankfully, management took that off the check. I'd return to try it again.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The setting was so beautiful. They put us next to the stained glass windows overlooking the garden. Although there were other diners in the restaurant it seemed very private and intimate. Our server Yvonne was very attentive without being instrusive and the food and drinks were outstanding. At the end of the meal they gave us a special surprise recognizing our celebration. It is a little too pricey to be somewhere to eat on a regular basis but I cannot think of a better place for a special celebration. Our family has enjoyed Sunday brunch there also and it is fabulous!

The Sunday Hershey Hotel Brunch is the best in PA. We have been going to this brunch for 15 years, and yes things have changed and they have renovated the "Circular" dinning room, but the food and service are 4 Star. Yes I miss the piano player and the dress formal, but the times they are a changing. BUT again if you are going for the food and service you are hard pressed to find better,, and the price has not increased in the past 5 years,, ask for a table by the window, great view of gardens and less noise.

Atmosphere was excellent, food was very good and attendants were responsive, but not overbearing. The only quirk was my wife's salad came as an entire "wedge" of lettuce. I'm not sure why it wasn't cut up...it made it feel like the head was cut in quarters and placed on the plate quickly to save time.

My boyfriend and I came to eat dinner here on our first night staying at the Hotel Hershey. We both got filet mignon cooked rare, and it was delicious! I had a blackberry spritzer to drink which I personally found way too sweet. The staff took it off of our bill because I didn't drink it, and even offered to make me a new one, which was very nice of them. I had the S'more souffle for dessert and it was absolutely divine. Best desert I've had in a long time, and even though I ordered it at the end of our meal, my wait for it was minimal, which was a nice surprise. They even had a beautiful chocolate show piece on the bar which I loved.

This was hands down one of the best meals my husband and I have ever had. We've been to the Circular's Sunday brunch previously, but never dinner. Every single dish was perfectly made and deeply satisfying. I had to make my husband stop talking when I tasted his hanger steak because I just wanted to enjoy it melting in my mouth. We were celebrating my birthday, and the waitress did many "extra" treats like chocolate covered strawberries and salted caramels to make it a special birthday treat. We will be returning every year for this occasion!

Our only disappoint with this restaurant is that they did not offer any desserts made with chocolate--something we assumed we would find at the Hotel Hershey. We were celebrating a birthday, the staff took extra care to make it special. Food was described well, Patti was most capable regarding all our questions. The ladies had eaten a few snacks in our room , no fuss made as we ordered 3 entrees for the 5 of us. Each item we had was prepared excellently, served at correct temperature, and was absolutely delicious! Presentation was beautiful, it matched the sleek elegance of the room. The tab was most fair as well. Patti picked up on the group being lighthearted having fun and joined right in. She knew we had been to spa and asked about our day, that was wonderful and in the beginning acknowledged I had made the reservation.

The Circular at the Hotel Hershey is an elegant yet comfortable restaurant. The wait staff and service were excellent. However, the brunch buffet was only average in terms of food quality...a good selection of choices were offered but the quality was a bit disappointing as we had expected a slightly higher standard from the hotel's flagship restaurant. The buffet had some excellent cold salads and a truly wonderful dessert selection to choose from. No crepes, waffles or pancakes were available; seafood choices were adequate and the steamed clams were delicious. The carving station prime rib was overdone but still flavorful. Cocktail prices were quite high. Enjoyable but would probably not do the brunch again.

She was constantly checking on us and making sure we didn't need anything else. I had the breakfast buffet years ago, but had never tried the lunch buffet. It was great! A huge selection of foods: cheese platters, salads, pastas, vegetables, pilafs, soup, meats, fish and a huge array of desserts. Even the fresh-brewed iced tea was delicious. The wait staff was incredibly attentive. Cleared our plates as soon as we finished a round (of course we went for seconds and thirds and...) and kept our glasses full and silverware replenished. I saw other reviews where people complained of guests' attire or children or noise levels and I witnessed none of this (although I have no problem with children eating in a restaurant anyway). My friend and I each drove 2 1/2 hours to meet here and we plan to make it a tradition.

We went remembering the restaurant as it was before the renovation. The remodeling is excellent. Beautiful atmosphere. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Great bottle of wine suggested by the sommelier. Food however was awful. We ordered the lobster deviled eggs at the servers suggestion. They were dry and flavorless. Another of the three couples ordered the cocoa scallops and they were delicious. Three of us ordered the prime rib. Simply put, it was the WORST prime rib we have ever had. There was no flavor. Even the sauces could not help this tough, chewy piece of meat. If you fail at prime rib can there be any redemption? Dessert was ok. We left more on the plate than we ate. It was too heavy. Needless to say, we will not go back.

Title says it all. We loved the scallope appetizer. After that it went down hill. My hamburger was sent back asked for medium well, recieved medium rare was told by an employee that she had an argument with the grill chef about it, did not like the smoky flavor of the burger. My husband's salmon was bland. I asked about their apple bread pudding if there are any raisins, if yes are they black or golden raisins. She told me that there is a 20% chance there are red raisins. Red raisins, I wonder if she meant cranraisins. So of course no dessert, but ordered cappuccinos, they were watered down. Awful experience and I live in Hershey, will never go there again.

What a disappointment. Went here for a special birthday dinner looking for a romantic atmosphere. Lights need to be dimmed, waaay too bright - ruins the atmosphere. Server was excellent, but the food SUCKED. Ordered the ahi tuna special "medium", it came medium rare & I sent it back. The chef kindly microwaved it for me & it came back a dry, tasteless, nasty lump of overpriced tuna. My husband's NY strip was also ordered medium & came med rare but he chose to eat it. Said it was the first tasteless steak he has ever had in his life. Ordered two a la carte sides (nothing is included with the grill items) at $6.00 each. Both sounded good - asparagus (which was good) and twice baked potato with cheddar cheese. It was a disgrace.
