The noise level was so horrible that even though the food and service were excellent, we won't be returning. We go out to eat with friends, not to shove food in our mouths, but to enjoy their company, to exchange ides and discuss all the topics we have an interest in. It's called conversation. Impossible at The Chop House."

  • "This restaurant is 5 minutes from my house and it was my first time trying this restaurant. Hubby and I went the last day of SJ Restaurant Week so the portions were reduced. From the preset menu, we both ordered the steak as an entree, and it was the best course. The appetizers and desserts were OK. Have to say that I'm glad I tried this restaurant during Restaurant Week because their normal prices are too high for the quality of the food served. We were seated in the lower level dining room with the lake view--that was very nice. It got very noisy and hard to hear as more people came in. Glad I got to sample this place but probably will not return even though it's close to my house. It was just an OK dinner, nothing spectacular."

  • "Good points were service and cocktails. Everything else was a problem. Parking was horrendous. The noise level was annoying and cafeteria-like. We thought it was a little pricey considering it was not full price (went restaurant week) and I ordered off special menu and my husband ordered from reg menu. It was $170 dollars per couple. We like to try different places and can say we did. We won't return."

  • "Dinner here will make me rethink Restaurant Week. Despite good reputation, I found food to be less than savory. The fried oysters were overdone and obscured by heavy, tough breading. The Caesar Salad was bits of yellow lettuce tossed with unmemorable Caesar dressing. The entree was a filet. It was served with stone cold mashed potatoes. Two out of three people in our party had overcooked meat. Dessert was pecan pie which was ordinary. The staff did comp our wine because of the hiccups with our meat. The wait staff was pleasant and aimed to please. The kitchen took too long to get the food from the kitchen to the table. Perhaps, that is why the food was cold. Happy Hour would have been a better choice. Bar, not restaurant, reigns"

The Cesar salad tasted like vinegar and the mashed potatoes that were served as a side with the filet were cold. The bread was good though. The waiter was professional and attentive until the end when he did not return with our cash change (after saying he would), instead just assumed all the change was his tip (which it was not). Overall, it seemed like a classy place/expensive place. We went for resturante week hoping to get a good sampling. While things coming from the kitchen to other guests looked excellent, our food was small in portion and flavor."

  • "Disappointing, restaurant was extremely crowded due to restaurant week.The menu for restaurant week was just not the meal we were looking for so we ordered off the regular menu.For the cost our meal it was underwhelming. Everything-everything was overcooked, dried out and the waiter missed serving a side that was chosen for our meal.Some of the wait staff appeared to be very attentive to their diners unfortunately our waiter did not hold the same respect for his customers. Since this was not my first experience I know they can do better and will return once again to give them another try.I am very concerned-I have booked a party of 30 in the future at your restaurant and with the service and quality of the food I am having second thoughts."

  • "I am married with two small children and work 5-6 nights a week at an Atlantic city steakhouse, so when I do have time off we usually stay home, or do more kid friendly activities. My husband and I decided to treat our selves to a night out, and are thrilled that we chose your restaurant!!! Everything was wonderful!! The food, service, atmosphere, etc!! Fell in love with the salmon nachos, and eggplant fries!! Steaks were great too, but we have steak often. We are new to this area, and were hesitant to try something other than our ac and Philly favorites, since this isn't something we do often. I'm so glad we did, and can't wait for our next experience :)"

  • "No complaints whatsoever. We went during South Jersey restaurant week and had a four course meal. The steak was cooked perfectly, we got a delicious bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from the special half-price bottle list, and dessert was amazing. The layout and view is absolutely beautiful, making this the perfect setting for a special occasion whether in a big group or just the two of you. I went with a girlfriend and cannot wait to bring my fiance here!"

Not only did the hostesses offer a healthy Happy Birthday greeting when we walked in the door but they used my girlfriend's name which I gave in the notes section of my reservation. We were immediately escorted to our scenic table overlooking the lake and our waiter Bob greeted us within 30 seconds. He was an exceptional waiter with extensive knowledge of the wine list and menu. We started with buffalo calamari and blackened shrimp. Buffalo calamari was tender and light. Blackened shrimp were succulent and delicious. Kona encrusted sirloin and filet oscar were our main entrees. They were perfectly cooked to our liking and absolutely delicious. We were too stuffed to have desert but can't wait to go back soon!"

  • "We have been going to the Chophose for almost three years now. The only thing that has been consistently increasing are, sadly, prices. For an ok steak and a starter (and no wine!) you'll fork out $80+ per person. Add desserts, coffees and a few sides and you will be out of pocket $100 before you know it. What a shame."

  • "We live out of state, but our family had dinner here to celebrate a special occasion. We had been here before a few years ago and enjoyed it. This time we were "Wow-ed"! Not only was the food excellent, as it had been before, but a new addition to the restaurant provided a beautiful view of the lake while we dined! The view blends well with the natural wood decor, and the staff was excellent! We will definitely make the trek over here again soon!"

  • "My wife's birthday on the outside enclosed deck with family was just another great experience at the Chop House. Granted the food can get inconsistent when you gravitate from the feature steak, but that is what my wife, son and I had. My daughter was not as thrilled about her sea bass and the eggplant fries is something to pass on. All had a great time and want to give the food a star next time. Our family loves the place regardless and will see us many more times particularly in late spring and summer when the deck is open."

There were 14 of us, from children on up to grandparents. The Chophouse staff made taking care of us look effortless and seamless. Our waiter was personable and extremely attentive.   • "My Husband and I had Valentines dinner here. From the moment we arrived everyone was so delightful. I work in customer service so I can truly appreciate people who go above & beyond. We were seated on the lower level with the view of the beautiful lake. It was pretty quiet & it was nice to hear myself think & actually be able to have a conversation. Our server, Bob was the best & was very knowledgeable about every dish. We will definitely done here again!"

  • "Went Friday with girlfriend. Been here multiple times before and just feel food quality is not same last few times. Great atmosphere and waiter, Nick was great. Oyster app was good. Shrimp with remoulade good, not great. I ordered surf/turf with kona crusted sirloin, med rare, girlfriend ordered tuna, rare. Both well overcooked. Waiter saw and took back. Sirloin again overcooked but I said it was fine. Tuna was correct. Sirloin was tough and not seasoned well. Very surprised, but like I said I've had this opinion last few times. Go for atmosphere, not particularly the food."

  • "This was my second time at the chophouse and I enjoyed myself once again. The food was amazing the lobster Mac and cheese is delish! The drinks are good also. The first time I visited this restaurant it was a romantic setting and not that noisy this time it was different. Maybe due to valentine diners visiting on Saturday instead of Friday it was a little noisy for me but I'd still go back. This is one of my favorite restaurants!"

  • "Our party of four enjoy a nice outing at least once a month. The soup/appetizers were very tasty although the clams casino had an unusual but delicious texture. Our entree's consisted of 2 filets a peppered steak and scallops. We could not decide which was better. Our desserts, 3 crème brullets"
