  • "Wow I was blown away, I can't remember a better evening out with friends. The food was amazing, we had steak au'poivre and it was fabulous. We also had Diver scallops and Shrimp cocktail as appetizers, they were also very good. I can't say anything bad about this experience. The service was amazing everything we tried tasted great. Oh and we ended the evening with a dessert, I think it was called the peanut butter bomb, it was delicious and gone in about 30 seconds. The prices are a little high, but in this case I felt it was well worth the money. Cheers!"

  • "My husband and I went for a special Birthday Dinner. Awesome deal, 50% off food for parties of 2 on the day of your birthday. You must show your license. We had a reservation and had requested an alcove which we got which was romantic. The food was fantastic. I ordered the morrocan shrimp appetizer and the porterhouse steak. My husband ordered the kobe steak and oysters appetizer. I loved both my items. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and spicy. My husband loved his steak, but thought the oysters oddly enough were a little too large. He said it was a texture thing. The only negative was service. We waited really LONG between everything. Had to request napkins and bread. In my waiters defense, you could tell he was slammed."

  • "We didn't think we were going to be "kid free" for 4th of July, but when we found out we were - we decided to go out. The Chop House was perfect. It was very quiet - not as busy as usual because of the holiday - and the food was excellent. AS ALWAYS! My husband enjoyed a Filet while I had the Scallops. The scallops were perfectly seared. We splurged (Calorie wise) for dessert and split a piece of Cheesecake. It was WONDERFUL too. A great evening....with great food and service."

  • "I took my mother here for her 85th birthday. I had made the reservation about 2 months in advance and had asked for an alcove as my mother is hard of hearing and figured the noise level would be minimal. Unfortunately, even by making the reservation very far in advance, we were not able to get an alcove. The food was very good. I would definitely recommend the scallops. The tiramisu was also noteworthy. I have been to this restaurant many times. It seems as though the service has gone down hill a bit. Got better service in years past."

  • "This was my second time dining at the Chop House and it exceeded my expectations. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Although it is a little pricey for an every night type of dinner, you get what you pay for. It is worth every dollar and has already become a favorite for me."

  • "Make sure you go to happy hour at the Chip House. We enjoyed a fantastic Brie dish as well as the crab stuffed avocado. After a few appetizers and drinks we moved over to our table where we enjoyed a fantastic ribeye with sauted mushrooms. Excellent food and wonderful service!!"

  • "We had a reservation at 7:30 and arrived on time. They had maybe 4 other tables sat, it was dead. The hostess asked us to wait a minute while she figured out which of the 50 open tables to seat us at. Then she sat us a lovely booth, but it was set for 5 people. They knew we were coming. The server had to remove the extra 10 wine glasses, 10 forks, plates, etc. I told the hostess it was anniversary but she obviously didn't pass on the info to anyone. The server asked if we were celebrating anything towards the end of the meal. They give you an ipad menu but never explain anything on it. No discussion of the food or recommendations. Service was slow and unattentive."

  • "More of a 4.5 than 4. Everything was very nice. I just reserve 5 rating for Superb food, service, atmosphere, and value for the money. You should plan to pay $40-50 per plate, and $75 for a bottle of wine. Recently we went to the Prime Rib at MD Live casino. The meal was much more expensive and underwhelming. I would highly recommend the Chop House Annapolis over that venue."

He was very professional, yet friendly, and treated our group like we were royalty throughout the entire evening. I love a server who makes his presence known, always available when needed, yet doesn't hover. He was excellent! The Manager kindly checked on us to be sure all was to our liking. The food was incredible, not only delicious, but the presentation was exquisite! We loved the menu, amazing cocktails, and each dish was better than the next, from the Appetizers to Dessert! Everything was so delicious, and cooked to perfection! Chef Ramsey would be proud to call Chop House his own!"

  • "We went to the Chop House for my husband's first father's day. The food there is amazing. We had the calamari, the french onion soup, steak, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and the peanut butter bomb for dessert. Everything was outstanding, and it is hard to say what was the best. We both had wine by the glass that was excellent as well. The menu is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for, and the free birthday dinner is a great deal! I would highly recommend the Chop House for any special meal."

  • "I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Someone recommended it. We ordered an appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 sides, and a bottle of wine. Bill came to $260 with tip. Calimari appetizer was ok, nothing to rave about. I ordered my filet medium, it was medium rare. Had them redo, but came back charred on top, I couldn't finish it. My boyfriend ordered his NY strip medium, he said it was ok. The best part of the meal was the brussel sprouts, one of the side dishes, what does that tell you? We didn't go on his official birthday, but because we celebrating a day early, we got his dessert on the house, big deal. We won't be back."

  • "We first found the Chop House in Annapolis about two years ago. We watch Hell's Kitchen and Beef Wellington is a frequent entrée. So, we wanted to try Beef Wellington. Since we live in Suburban Maryland we didn't want to go to either Baltimore or Washington DC. Since then we go to the Chop House about 4 times a year. The Beef Wellington along with all the other dishes we have tried never disappoints us. On our most recent visit we asked our Server if the Beef Wellington could be prepared without the liver pate. The server asked the Chef and they were able to prepare both our Wellingtons without the pate. Deserts here are always a treat. Tip, if you get an appetizer do not get a side dish with the main meal. "

  • "The Chop House is a great place to go to celebrate those special moments. The booths are comfortable with high backs, so having quiet conversations is possible. The noise levels were very low, and the lighting was good. The electronic tablet, which was used for the menu, was very easy to navigate and easy to read. I found the wait staff to be extremely attentive and friendly. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes of the side dishes were more than adequate to share. Even though there was a community event going on the the square out in front of the restaurant, I was able to get in and find a parking spot easily. It is rather pricey, however, so I would probably save this place for special occasions."

  • "We had a party of 4 and all were in agreement that the dining experience was great. Chez, our server, was engaging and made excellent suggestions. Our steaks and chops were cooked as requested and were tender. The family style sides were perfectly prepared with special kudos for the garlic mashed potatoes. We shared the 'banana foster bread pudding' and the 'peanut butter bombe' desserts. All agreed the bread pudding was good, but you must love peanut butter to enjoy the bombe (I liked it). We were having such a good time, we didn't hear the "ching-ching" in the background as we were ordering. Between cocktails, appetizers, entrees, sides, desserts, taxes, and tip, we spent about $400. We'll be back, but only for a very special occasion."

  • "Food was great, and service was finally a lot better. We have not liked the service levels that last year or two. It has downhill over the last couple of yrs but food is good so we decided to take my mom for her birthday, knowing the service would not be good but food would be delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to find a new server, Jack, who was wonderful! He made my mom's birthday dinner great! Thank you Jack. One suggestion though...when I write the special occasion - birthday, anniversary, they never recognize that. It's always a surprise. This should be read and conveyed to the servers and manager. They need to get this right."

  • "My husband and I had a great meal in a restaurant that can be romantic or a great place for a family reunion (if you're a rich family). I had the filet mignon and my man had the Kobe sirloin (I THINK it was a sirloin.). The salads were great and the side portions were shareable. Our server was very friendly and good at her job - the only thing I will say is that she had to apologize a few times because the bar was so slow (not sure what was going on, but when you pay this much for a meal, I would have expected that the alcohol could make it out in a timely fashion - fortunately, our server kept the water glasses filled). All told, it was a very special birthday and I would go back again. "

Review that warned about asking for market price of fish was absolutely correct, especially since sides are extra. Market price was 50% more than any of the other fish dishes."

  • "Celebrated my husband's birthday dinner on a Sat. evening. The place was busy but not overly so. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The manager stopped in to chat. Our entrees were delicious: lamb chops and NY strip. The spinach was cooked el dente. The garlic mashed potatoes were so-so. The creme brulee was OK, but I've had better. We enjoyed the wine which was suggested for our entrees. I would recommend the restaurant to others and would return."

  • "We frequent for happy hour and birthday celebrations. I love the bone in strip which was cooked perfectly. Sautéed mushrooms didn’t seem to be so wild looked like basic mushrooms but they were cooked in butter and tasty. make sure to get the banana pudding for dessert- outstanding! And visit Don @ the bar to put a smile on your face! "

  • "The steaks at The Chop House are amazing! I've never had a bad experience with the food. The only thing I could think of that may be of concern was with the guy who brought out our food: since my table had a view of the kitchen door, my date noticed that everytime he brought out a tray of food, he would run his hand through his hair (to brush it out of his eyes, I presume) while holding the tray up above his shoulders with the opposite hand. I didn't feel that this was a very sanitary thing to do, considering stray hairs or hair particles could have ended up in the food. "
