We arrived 15 minutes early and they had our table ready. The filet mignon was the best I've ever had. The house salad was delicious. I was disappointed however with the sides. The smashed garlic potatoes were a tad of the bland side and were fluffy and not creamy as one would expect them to be. The macaroni was on the sweet side and was pretty soupy not to my liking. But the dinner ended beautifully with a chocolate plate spelling out happy anniversary and free chocolates along with dessert that we ordered which was fantastic. Pleasant surprise: much less stuffy and formal that I expected (or feared). Our waitress was fun and enjoyable and very efficient. The bar made an excellent Martini.
The food: very good on the steaks, though not the best I've had. I had the Porterhouse (medium) and it was flavorful and perfectly medium as ordered.
The sides (baked potato and asparagus and broccoli) were not too impressive. Potato ok (big deal) but he Hollandaise sauce was flat and already lukewarm so it settled into an unpourable gum before it could be used and neither vegetable was prepared with any imagination.
