We had a table on the second floor which was nice and it was quiet. Extensive menu of wonderful choices. Everyone enjoyed their food. I ended up switching with a friend of mine as the menu did not state that the shrimp and mussels pasta had red pepper flakes in it and it was too spicy for me. The lamb chops were excellent. I could have dined on the bread and herb butter-YUM

This place is a real find in quiet Riverside. We had been to the former Chew Chew Cafe in a charming old building quite some time ago and we enjoyed that. This new Chew Chew, however, is a real step up. Each of us ordered something different and each of us were thrilled with our food. The service was superb - cheerful and present without being overly attentive. Our server asked questions of the chef and the owner for us as we had questions about special orders as well as wine selection. We had all questions answered quickly and with great satisfaction. I recently met a friend for lunch on a Tuesday night reservation. We were seated quickly and given water promptly. Service was courteous and efficient throughout the evening. There was a steady stream of diners, from families to groups for girl's night out. I usually order the warm vegetable salad and add salmon to it. This time I ordered the small plate of mussels with an order of French fries on the side. It was perfect. My friend had the scallop and mussel pasta dish and she polished it off quickly. The Belgium chocolate cake is the best way to end dinner, if you're a chocoholic!
