  • "The beauty of this place is they always have new things on the menu plus the old staples of fried chicken, some kind of burger and tacos. Get reservations because the place fills up fast. It's that good. The Chef's Fred and Nick cook right in front of you and it is worth watching. Did I mention make reservations? This place is that good."

  • "This is a great place to eat and the quality of the food is unmatched in the area. Best restaurant in the area hands down. The beer and wine selections are also fantastic. Most other nice restaurants locally don't have a good craft brew selection, but this place has some very high end craft brews."

  • "I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Food is great, service is great and it is just a gem that you need to try."

  • "The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The restaurant is small and cozy, nice atmosphere. But the portions are tiny and the prices are high. If money was no object I would recommend it and say to order many courses to fill up, but between the two of us we had two appetizers and two entrees and were still hungry. I had risotto and it was delicious but the size of a side (for $18). I wish it were priced more reasonably or the portions were larger because if it were I would definitely go back and recommend it."

  • "Myself and 5 other friends came in for a bday dinner celebration and we had an incredible experience! Our server was beyond a accommodating and so very helpful. The food was perfect; everything we tried was amazing! We ordered several appetizers and entrees and shared, and we were literally about to lick the plates. Everything was so delicious! Don't skip the pesto fries or the mac&cheese-unreal!!! The scallops were perfection and the citrus & beet platter was fresh and delightful. We ordered the steak, risotto, burger and fried chicken and it was all devoured. The fried chicken was out of this world!!! Dessert was bread pudding, bacon brownie and an avocado citrus creme brûlée-not a crumb was left! Thanks for such a delightful evening!!!"

  • "The chefs table never disappoints. They change menu to keep it fresh, but always have a couple signature dishes. The group of gentlemen that are there are always very friendly. A relaxed atmosphere. The pb&j burger is unique but delicious. Make a reservation very quaint."

  • "LOVED the small local feel of this gem of a restaurant. As recent Rocklin residents, we are so glad we found The Chefs Table. Walking in for first time your not quit sure who to talk to or where to go but one you are greated and give them your name for reservation they take care of you (yes you do need a reservation). Smaller menu with great variance of food choices. We tried the recommended pesto fries, Mac and cheese with pork belly, fried chicken and halibut. It was ALL delicious - you could taste how fresh it all was, presentation was just as great and surprisingly prices are fair. We definately will put this in our Friday night date night restaurant rotation!"

  • "Food was very good, even the organic beef hamburger with bacon and PBJ! Asparagus were fab as were the pesto French fries. Service was friendly but a bit slow."

  • "This the best restaurant I have ever been to! The skippy burger is awesome and the pesto fries are the best!"

  • "Our salads and entrees were delicious. The quality, freshness and visual appeal of our meals was excellent. The portions were fairly small (we are light eaters who normally find restaurant portions to be large). I found the wine list to be appealing due its uniqueness - it did not have the same wines that are found over and over again on wine lists. They also had several interesting beer selections. The dessert was the only disappointment - we did not hear the waiter state that the brownie contained bacon (some might enjoy the combo, but I found it unpalatable). Seating is very limited, so reservations are a must."

  • "This place was quaint but outstanding. We live a paleo, fresh food lifestyle and the food was outstanding! Make reservations though because I'm not the only one who thinks this place is great."

  • "Erick and Jon have this restaurant back on track. Great food, friendly service and atmosphere. The staples are still on the menu, pesto fries, killer burgers and fried chicken. Get into this place if you have not been here. Reservations are a good idea as this place fills up quickly. Chef's Table crew, keep up the great work!!"

  • "Lunch with my BFF. We ordered the shrimp tacos & the salmon BLT, which we told out waiter we would split so we could both tried two different things. Our order came to the table already split (how wonderful not to hassle with that!!!). Each was fresh & delicious. We both agreed that they were reorder worthy. Yum!! Important to note: Since our schedules had been hectic, it had been awhile since we'd been able to spend any real time together. We were there for about 1.5 ho we were allowed to relax & enjoy ourselves without feeling like they wanted to flip the table or hustle us out the door."

  • "We went with friends for a Valentine's Day dinner. The Chef's table had a semi-fixed menu for the evening. Great selection of beer and wines, and the food was fantastic. The portions well nicely-sized so we left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Absolutely worth the money!"

  • "WIFE & I HAVE HAD A SUPPER AND LUNCH HERE AND ENJOYED THEIR GREAT SELECTION OF GOURMET FOOD PREPARED BY A GREAT CHEF. GREAT SERVICE FROM THE STAFF AS THE OWNERS ARE ACTIVELY INVOLVED. YOU SHOULD MAKE A RESERVATION TO EAT HERE. YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID IF YOU ENJOY GOURMET FOOD."

  • "Unfortunately it was not up to par. I thought the service was poor. We had a spill on our table and it took quite sometime for our waiter to help. I have no idea how we seemed to get ignorned throughout our dinner. When we were all finished eating it seem to take another 10 minutes to get our table vleared and ask if we wanted dessert. Dinner took two hours to finish so that should give you an idication of the service. The food portion on the skirt steak was very small. They had no dinner salad and no bread to eat while waiting. This was a restaurant I wont recommend. Im sorry. Im really not a person thats hard to please, but when I spend thst kind of money on dinner I ecpect it to be worth the value."

  • "Second time here for my wife and I and another excellent experience. Really like the concept of serving fine-dining quality food in a more casual setting. Everything we had was delicious and expertly prepared. Meats were cooked to a perfect temperature. This is a fun place to order a lot of small plates and kind of pick one's way through them. So far we haven't found anything that hasn't been great. Good wine list and small but solid beer selection. I expect to find places like this in the Bay Area and other metropolitan areas and feel blessed that we have this here in Rocklin."

  • "A lively place to chat with friends. The menu is limited, but everything looked good. I have read some other reviews about the limited menu. This is not the Cheesecake Factory, nor do I think they want to be. Go have fun!"

  • "I admit I didn't try this restaurant earlier simply because it's in a Rocklin strip center. Soo glad I gave it a shot- in my top 5 restaurants in the entire Sacramento area! Service was excellent. They are laid back, fun, but still highly knowledgable about the good and cooking techniques. The food was outstanding! Salmon was cooked perfectly and our dessert, bread pudding with salted caramel whipped cream, still has my mouth watering. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality. I will definitely be coming back soon. Excited that Rocklin has a restaurant this awesome!"

  • "Great food and vibe. Menu changes often but always lots to offer. We both loved the Stuffed Chicken Breast and Wedge Salad. The chocolate creme brûlée topped off the dinner and don't hesitate in ordering their Bacon Brownie. The counter seating is the best as you get to chat with the chefs. Call early for Friday and Saturday dining. This is our new go-to place."

  • "Incredible food! EJ was a wonderful waiter. This was the first time I brought my family with me and the experience was fantastic! My parents don't drink, but the waitstaff was accommodating and gracious. My mom has a severe gluten allergy and had absolutely no problems finding something delicious to eat. Thank you!!"

  • "Perhaps we shouldn't have been so surprised at finding a great little restaurant in a neighborhood shopping center, but with Sacramento's downtown food culture thriving in recent years, it's hard to turn the car and drive deeper into the suburban monoculture. Had we done that yet however, we would have missed this little gem. The casual atmosphere and small space create an energetic intimacy that I associate with more urban venues, but the staff seemed intent on avoiding the pomp and stuffiness so often found in affluent suburban restaurants. The place is about the food and not about the dress code. Give it a try. We took some friends, and everyone gave it a thumbs up."

  • "This is a small restaurant that nevertheless has an ambitious kitchen. We enjoyed our lunch very much. Everything was carefully prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. The wine list for lunch was small but with excellent choices and a generous pour. Service was casual but professional and well-timed. Tables are close together so don't plan on talking about anything you don't want your neighbors to hear! It doesn't appear to have adequate space for large groups, but there is also bar seating which can be fun for a casual meal. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I would recommend it and plan on returning."

  • "i was impressed. But then I enjoy sitting at the bar and watching them prepare the food. I imagine that I might learn something about food prep someday. I think everyone except, the dishwasher, checked in with us to ask if we needed something. the food was very good, the staff is friendly, and the prices are right. I will be back."

  • "We returned to Chef's Table with some friends after a great first experience on a date night. The menu changes but everything we have had has been wonderful. The pork "wings" were fantastic and the fried chicken was so flavorful. The service on our first experience was phenomenal, when we sat at the bar and chatted with the owner. Our second experience was not as good, waiting several times to order food courses and drinks. But we will still keep coming back because the food is so great. We also enjoyed a good bottle of Pinot and great seasonal beers on tap. Although the wine list is good for such a small place, I would recommend adding more local wineries product to the list. There are many great wineries in the placer foothills."

  • "I took my wife to The Chef's Table for dinner on a Friday night. It was the anniversary of the night I proposed to my wife. Six years ago, I proposed to my wife at Restaurant Gary Danko's in San Francisco. This year we decided to try something local for a change. My wife and I arrived at the Chef's Table on time for our 7 pm reservation but had to wait 30 minutes, as the place was full of diners at the tables and the bar area. After being seated, we ordered the sea bass and the beef filet. The sea bass was moist with a slightly crisp top. The filet came medium rare as ordered but was a disappointing tough piece of beef to cut and chew. Overall the food was OK. Next year we'll go back to Gary Danko's,"
